Shipping Weights
Though most countries around the world use metric units of measure,
the U.S. uses mostly customary units. When items are shipped to the
U.S, they are weighed in ounces, pounds, or tons.
Jeff works for a company that ships shirts to the U.S. Orders that weigh
at least 1 ton are shipped by truck. Orders that weigh at least 1 pound,
but less than 1 ton, are shipped in boxes. Orders that weigh less than
1 pound are shipped in bags.
