As we are racing through this second week of school, I wanted to stop for a minute and
say Thank You. Thank You to the parents who have supported our dress code policy. To
those who made sure the shoes were all black or white, who emailed me over the summer
asking if this shoe was ok, who chose the longer skirt even when their child argued. Thank
You for your diligence and your support. While to some this may seem like we are nit picking, we truly have a reason for our adherence to appropriate dress. We know focusing on
the little things lets our students know we are paying attention to them and we see them as
individuals each day. We want their clothes to be uniform so their personalities can shine.
We want them to not think about the label on their shirt so they can instead think about
using the gifts God gave them. So to all of you who may have sighed when you had to go
to the next store, or when your child complained about their uniform, Thank You. You are
helping us fulfill our mission here at Seton and we are proud to partner with you in this
endeavor.

5th Grade Service Project
Mr. Reagan’s class is going green! Do you have an old cell phone or ink cartridge? The
5th grade would love to take it off of your hands as they are participating in a recycling project
through the Green Hippo Program.
Simply give your old phone or cartridge to a 5th grade student
or drop off the items in Mr. Reagan’s classroom.
Thank you 5th graders for helping to protect our environment!

Introducing the Latin & Greek Roots Challenge!
Seton students had a special visitor this week, Mr. John Riley of The
Rooted Mind. Providing an introduction to our new school-wide
initiative, the Latin & Greek Roots Challenge, Mr. Riley spoke to
students in grades Pre-K 4 through 8th grade to give them an overview of the fun activities and challenges. Designed to help students
strenghthen their vocabulary, enhance SAT/ACT test preparation
and encourage thinking skills, this challenge will provide them with a
language foundation to last a lifetime.
Be sure to ask your 2nd - 8th grader how to pronounce
pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis!
