This half term, I am going to learn:

Know how to accurately replicate specific techniques for a variety of fitness based activities.

Know how specific methods of training help improve fitness.

Know the skill and health related components.

Know why a healthy balanced diet is important for athletes.
To help me develop my knowledge and understanding in fitness I am going to:
Produce an information booklet to show my understanding of how athletes need specific fitness and the importance of a healthy balanced diet
To be successful in my homework, I need to :





Identify key vocabulary in fitness.
Explain the benefits of interval training and suggest which type of athlete would use this method.
Define skill and health related components of fitness and identify the fitness tests used to measure these components.
Compare the components of fitness needed for a footballer and a gymnast.
Identify all 7 food nutrients and explain what each is used for in the body .
To challenge myself, I will also:





Plan a training session for an athlete of your choice. Explain reasons for your choice of activities.
Design a 6 weeks training programme aimed to improve your overall fitness.
Design a skills circuit suitable for netball or basketball. Label each station. Describe how you can make it harder.
Explain how regular exercise and eating a healthy balanced diet contribute to leading a healthy active lifestyle.
Evaluate your strengths and weaknesses of personal fitness.
