WINTER WONDERLAND TESTIMONIALS FAIRMONT CHATEAU LAKE LOUISE OUR GUESTS’ WINTER WONDERLAND STORIES FROM AROUND THE GLOBE What does a winter wonderland destination exactly entail? Our guests capture the quintessence of our snow season with firsthand recounts of experiences at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise during winter 2016/2017. The BEST hotel ever “We recently returned from our annual winter trip to Chateau Lake Louise and the Ice Magic Festival. We travel all the way from NY for what is the best vacation ever. Friends constantly ask us why we are not on a beach in the Caribbean in January. Because Lake Louise and the Chateau can not be beaten for beautiful location and magnificent service. To see the frozen lake and glaciers beyond amongst snow covered trees and mountains is really as good as it gets. The hotel offers opportunities and gear to take full advantage of this natural wonderland. You can skate on the lake, snowshoe, cross country ski and just plain hike. Or take a horse drawn sleigh ride or just sit and look out the window. We stay a whole week and are always involved in some activity and never wanting for something to do. The staff is the most accommodating we have ever encountered around the world. It is obvious that they too enjoy being here and it comes out in their attitude toward the guests. They are friendly and helpful in every way. It is an absolute joy to interact with them on every visit. And we have been going here for 18 winters! The restaurants range from country food to the most elegant preparations. Treat yourself to at least one fancy night at The Fairview- it is the best. The Chateau Lake Louise is a very special place in this world. Don’t miss it as a part of your life’s experiences.” Magical “My boyfriend and I got treated to an overnight here while on our holiday to Canada. First impression was wow. This place is a magical winter wonderland - i didn’t want to leave! Check in was quick and easy, staff friendly and really helpful. Our room had an awesome view. We looked right o to the lake. Rooms were cosy and tidy. Get yourself a pair of ice skates and go skate on the lake - absolutely wonderful. Ice skates are rented out of the ski hire shop beside reception. Charges about $13, its a must! The sleigh ride was also wonderful! Wrap up warm tho at the opposite end of the lake it can be pretty chilly!! Absolutely stunning views, perfect photo opportunities. The hotel itself is huge! Lovely and cosy. Perfect location. Literally could sit and stare out the window the whole time. Would definitely be back in the future.” Delicious and decadent resort “This place was pure ambrosia! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit and cannot wait to come back for our next trip. It was like a winter wonderland the entire time we were there. The Ice Festival was in full swing, the sleigh ride was very romantic and the food was exceptional. The most impressive part of our visit was the staff. Every single staff member from the check in to valet bringing up the car was polite, friendly and very helpful. The Fairmont CLL is a must do for everyone! Love love love it! “ A Picture Postcard Holiday! “Having only visited Chateau Lake Louise ten years ago during summer, I knew that I wanted to return someday during winter time. Being from South Louisiana, seeing snow is a real treat for us! I booked a lake view room in early December, and the Fairmont did not disappoint! With the frozen lake in the foreground and the glacier in the background along with the snow-covered trees, it was a true winter wonderland, a picture postcard holiday! From the moment we set foot on the property until we departed five days later, the staff was friendly, professional, and most accommodating. We even braved the below zero temps to experience dog sledding, and what an experience it was! The scenic beauty of the Chateau Lake Louise property definitely ranks at the top of my list of hotel stays, and I would not hesitate to stay there again! “ A wonderful winter break “I took my three-year-old son on a break to the Château Lake Louise for one night. We had a Junior suite Lakeview, which gave a spectacular view down on the lake, and we watched everybody doing winter activities, and loved the glacier scenery. We love the Château because it makes it so easy to do outdoor things directly from the hotel. We went sledding, we walked to the end of the lake and back twice, and we spent time over at the ski hill learning to ski. We actually prefer Lake Louise in winter, especially mid week. The Château and the region as a whole is very quiet. After you’ve experienced the summer rush, the quietness is truly beautiful. Also the rates are very affordable mid week in winter too. My suggestion if you go is to pay the extra for a lake view room, especially if you can get one on the higher levels. There is also a special discount for Alberta residents if you book online on the Fairmont site.”
