Hand Building
Hand building allows people to come in at their leisure, utilizing all of our clay tools (with the exception of
the wheel) to create their own clay projects.
Recommended for ages 4 and up.
Anytime during normal business hours
$20 per project includes one project, two firings, and glaze
Hand building comes with basic instruction, and our staff is happy to provide answers to questions,
however this is not a lesson. If you would like personal attention and instruction we recommend one of our
classes or workshops. Hand built pottery pieces can be painted after they are built while still wet clay, or
they can be painted after the first firing. *if painting after 1st firing, see painting details on back
Try-It Wheel Lesson or Hand-Building Lesson
These lessons offer a quick demonstration and one guided opportunity to make a vessel or piece. We will
walk you through one throwing or building experience and most participants will create one (1) piece.

When trying pottery for the first time, not everyone is able to create a piece although we do our best to
ensure that everyone has a piece to fire at the end of a lesson. *See painting details on back
One Time Wheel Lesson
One Time Lessons are a great way for people to experience the wheel and get some basic understanding of
throwing techniques. We’ll step you through the basics of centering, pulling walls, and shaping your vessel.
Students will get the opportunity to throw two to three times and will choose their favorite two (2) vessels
to be fired.

1 - 1.5 hours (depending on age and number of participants)
$45/person for 1 participant; $40/person for 2 or more participants.
2 vessels are included, if you wish to keep any additional pieces, you pay only an additional firing fee.

Wheel Rental Time
Wheel rental time allows people to come in at their leisure, utilizing everything in our studio to create their
own clay projects. This entitles them to use all of our tool and equipment including pottery wheel, sculpting
tools and more. All current and former students of any of our instructional classes will automatically qualify
them to use the respective tools and equipment.
Teens and Adults with previous wheel experience.
Anytime during normal business hours when classes or lessons are not previously scheduled, reservations of
wheel time is recommended.
$16 - $17.50 / 5 lbs. block of clay depending on type of clay used, includes use of tools, no time limit on the
pottery wheel (with availability), and trimming.(Pay only a firing fee to finish any pots you wish to keep)
5 hours = $65 ($15 savings), 10 hours = $110 ($50 savings), 15 hours = $150 ($90 savings)
Firing (includes glaze) is extra based on the size of the finished piece. *See painting details on back

*Painting Details for Clay
We will fire anything made in clay within 2 weeks. After it is fired, we will call to let you know that it is
ready to be painted. From the time it is fired, we offer up to 30 days to come in and paint your fired pieces
for no additional fee. If it is painted after the 30 day complimentary painting time is over, then there will be
a $5 painting fee (this fee is waived with an additional purchase). We hold fired pieces for 90 days, after
which we are no longer responsible for these pieces.

Creative Kids Pottery Wheel Lessons - 4 week Class
This class is designed to allow children ages 6 and up to explore the pottery wheel. We focus on the proper
way to create a pot and trim it.

1.5 hour per week for 4 weeks

Up to eight (8) pieces are yours to keep – included in the cost of the class. If you wish to finish and keep any
additional pieces, you pay only an additional firing fee. In addition, return anytime during Open Studio for
*two (2) painting session to finish any remaining pieces.
Your finished pieces will be ready for pick-up one week after they are painted.

Adult Pottery Wheel Lessons – 4 or 6 Week Class
Students will learn the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel. We will cover everything from clay
preparation and proper body positioning; to centering, pulling walls and shaping. Also, depending on
interest and number of students, we may cover hand-building and basic sculpture, and kiln work.

If you wish to finish and keep any additional pieces, you pay only an additional firing fee. In addition, return
anytime during Open Studio for *two (2) painting session to finish any pieces that are unpainted at the end
of session. If you need more than two sessions to finish painting the fired pieces, it is only $5 per visit or
free with an additional purchase.
Your pottery will be fired and ready for painting the week prior to the end of your session. Pieces made
during the last class will be ready for pick up two weeks after the class has ended. Painted finished pieces
will be ready for pick-up one week after they are painted.
