ON DIAMOND DRILLING
RESOURCES INC. CLAIMS
CROLL, ABREY, AND COLTHAM TOWNSHIPS!
AND THE MCBEAN LAKE AREA,
DISTRICT OF THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO
APRIL 1987
Introduction
The following is a report on a d iamond drilling programme
carried out on the property of Ferau Resources Inc., Geraldton Area,
Ontario during the winter of 1987.
The claims are situated in the Geraldton Longlac Area, located
east of Lake Nipigon, 300 kilometres northeast of Thunder Bay, Ontario
as shown on Figure 1. The location of these claims within Croll,
Abrey and Coltham Townships and the McBean Lake Area are shown on
Figure 2.
Property
The property consists of eighty-three contiguous, unpatented
mining claims in Croll, Abrey, and Coltham Townships and the McBean
Lake Area. They cover approximately 3320 acres and are numbered as
follows;
Croll Township
TB632003 and TB632004
TB941326 to TB941331 inclusive
Abrey Township
TB632001 and TB632002
TB632013 to TB632023 inclusive
TB941332 to TB941337 inclusive
TB973563 to TB973568 inclusive
Coltham Township TB632005 to TB632012 inclusive
McBean Lake
TB561814 to TB561827 inclusive
TB610553 to TB610562 inclusive
TB861848 to TB861853 inclusive
TB941579 to TB941590 inclusive
Location and Access
Figure 2 shows the location of this claim group in Croll, Abrey,
and Coltham Townships and in the McBean Lake Area.
The property is approximately twelve mile? east and south of the
town of Geraldton, Ontario.
The claim group can be reached by boat or by roard. A boat from
the town of Longlac southwest approximately eight miles on Long Lake
will reach the northern boundary.
That portion of the claim group to the east of Long Lake may
also be reached by a combination of gravel road and bush road with a
four-wheel drive vechile south from the town of Longlac.

Re^iew of Operations and Results
Following a magnetic and electromagnetic survey, completed in
1984, dianona drilling was carried out during the winter of 1987, to
test the 'Coniagas Mines' and the 'MacFarlane Longlac Gold Mine 1
old gold showings. As shown on Figure 3.
In 1983 and 1984 a grid was cut of lines at four hundred foot
centres and with one hundred foot stations on forty-seven of the
claims numbered as follows:
Croll Township
TB632003 and TB632004
Abrey Township
TB632001 and TB632002
TB632013 to TB632023 inclusive
Coltham Township TB632005 to TB632012 inclusive
McBean Lake
TB561814 to TB561827 inclusive
TB610553 to TB610562 inclusive
The other thirty six claims were more recently staked.
Using this grid the claims were prospected, old trenches were
cleaned out, sampled and tied to the grid, and a magnetometer and
electromagnetic survey was conducted.
Exploration by diamond drilling of three of the anomalies
located by geophysics, which coincided with the old MacFarlane and
Coniagas gold showings, yielded encouraging results.
The drill, a JKS Boyles 37, retrieving BQ size core, was employed
to test the old gold showings.
Nine holes have been completed in the diamond drilling campaign
at the property of Ferau Resources Inc. in the Geraldton Longlac Area.
The total footage drilled being 2653 feet. Table l shows the drilling
summary for these nine holes. Table 2 summarizes the assay results.
Five drill holes were put down south of the MacFarlane east shaft
tc study the conditions under which the showing occurred.
Holes FI, F2, and F3 were drilled fifty feet apart along an
east/west line. These drill holes intersected two different shear
zones within a basalt, metamorphosed to the amphibolite facies.
These shears carried trace to 0.076 ounces of gold per ton over 1.6
feet. The shears plunged gently to the east. An altered contact
between the basalt and a quartz porphyry was detected. It strikes
E5*S and plunges 55 degrees south. This contact produced 0.020 ounces
of gold per ton over 1.4 feet in F2. Holes F4 and F5 were drilled
one hundred feet north and twenty feet west of Fi. One shear was
intersected in the metamorphosed basalt. It averaged 0.027 ounces of
gold per ton over 9.1 feet in F5. The altered basalt/porphyry
contact contained 0.269 ounces of gold per ton over 7.2 feet in F4.
Three holes were drilled to test a magnetic anomaly between the
MacFarlane and Coniagas showings. Holes F6 and F7 were one hundred
and twenty feet west of hole F8.i A wider mineralized and altered
contact between the basalt and the porphyry was encountered. It
averaged 0.062 ounces of gold per ton over 20.2 feet in F6.
Hole F9 was drilled to test the Coniagas West showing. Several
auriferous shear zones within the basalt were encountered. The shear
zones produced higher gold concentration with increased depth. The
lower shear produced 0.065 ounces of gold per ton over 11.0 feet. No
altered basalt/porphyry contact was observed. The mineralized altered
basalt, which carried 0.036 ounces of gold per ton over 4.0 feet, was
succeeded by an altered tuffaceous material, followed by the porphyry.

Conclusions
The diamond drilling campaign has yielded encouraging results. Drilling to date shows and increase in shearing and sulphide
within the basalt and altered basalt from west to east. Mineralization
is found at the altered basalt/porphyry contact and within the basalt,
where the veins are sheared and sulphide rich. The upper garnet
horizon is commonly associated with the mineralized basalt. The
mineralized zones are phyllic zones, consisting of quartz, low to
medium sericite, pyrite, pyrrhotite, arsenopyrite, some chalcopyrite
and gold. Gold concentrations increase with an increase in pyrrhotite,
arsenopyrite and chalcopyrite.
The porphyry generally carries only trace gold values.
The basalt/porphyry contact strikes east/west and dips to the
south.
"
Re^commendations
A grid of lines at four hundred foot intervals should be cut on
the more recently acquired claims.
A magnetometer and electromagnetic survey should be conducted
on the new lines/
Trenching using a medium sized crawler excavator and hydraulizing
using a high pressure pump should be done to expose further north south
sections of outcrop across anomalous areas where possible.
Geological mapping and channel sampling of the trenches, as well
as detailed Geological surveyover the entire claim group, should be
undertaken.
Test by diamond drilling the Coniagas East showing.
Test by diamond drilling the geophysical anomaly along strike of
Coniagas East at L56E 9+OOS.
Geophysical anomalies at L6E 3+50S to L14E 4+OOS, L12E 9+OOS and
L22E 10+50S should be tested by trenching or diamond drilling where
the overburden proves too deep.
Diamond drilling of any other targets located by the stripping
or anomalies located by geophysical means would follow.
