We are presently looking for a Marketing Scientist (m/f) to start work immediately, preferably at our Nuremberg office. The Marketing & Data Sciences department houses the central research and development team at GfK where new tools, methods and algorithms are developed. When dealing with complex issues, operative areas receive support from the Marketing & Data Sciences department for methodology issues and implementation, as well as in customer service. Our department currently consists of Marketing Scientist concerned with the statistical perspective of data analysis and Data Scientists concerned with the technical perspective of data processing. With the growing importance of analyzing digital big data the lines between Marketing and Data Scientists are more and more blurring. As a Marketing Scientist (m/f) you will have the chance to work on the development and application of statistical methods and big data processes within a team of experts and communicate the results to our internal and external clients. Your professional remit in detail includes the following tasks: Apply, develop and improve methods and best practices in areas of Marketing Sciences, e.g. segmentation, conjoint, data fusion, sampling and weighting. Foster knowledge exchange of Marketing and Data Science methods and best practices within GfK Support and coordinate Marketing and Data Science projects, innovations and research initiatives Translate and clearly communicate sophisticated analytical information into client friendly recommendations Requirements You are distinguished through sound analytical skills, an ability to grasp new concepts and technologies quickly and a high degree of independence. Using your initiative, you creatively find solutions to complex new problems. You also enjoy working as part of a team, with your colleagues at GfK and with both our national and international clients. You must fulfil the following professional requirements: PhD or Master degree with a strong focus on quantitative techniques, quantitative marketing / market research, statistics or related areas First relevant work experience (e.g., through internships) Solid knowledge of analytic software tools and/or programming languages (e.g., SPSS, R, SAS, VBA, Python) Solid knowledge of marketing sciences techniques (e.g. regression, cluster analysis, sampling & weighting, conjoint) Ability to think creatively in addressing research objectives while maintaining the balance between “art & science” Ability to fluidly communicate in an English business environment Globalize your career Having choices is what makes life exciting.
