Week 2 Lesson Plans
American History:
Tuesday- Write a 1 page letter to your family in Norway explain the Black Death. Come up with
examples from the book, notes, and video.
Wednesday-Begin discussion on the East Indies
Assignment- page 61. 1-2-3
Review for Test.
Test- Thursday on pages 8-61.
Assignment- vocabulary chapter 2.
Friday: Begin discussion/notes on the American Revolution. Discuss the following: Continental
Congress, minutemen, redcoats, patriots, declaration of rights, and the 1st Battle (Battle of Bunker Hill)Get I pads and go to sites of the battles..
Geography:
Tuesday: Go over the material previously covered by Mr. Furie.
Finish Latitude and Longitude
Wednesday: Explain the difference between political and physical maps. Discuss elevation. Assignment
Lesson number 9.
Thursday: test maps…
Friday: begin the 5 themes of geography with emphasis on place and location. Get I pads and do lesson
on google earth/maps
Government:
Tuesday: go over what we covered when the substitute was here. Students will write a paragraph using
the following terms. Values-equality-freedom-justice-beliefs. Explain what these terms mean to YOU.
Assignment- vocab practice and section 1 review.
Wednesday: Explain the difference in rural vs. urban areas. Have a group discussion on pros and cons
of each place.
Lesson- interview a family member from each area and have them explain why they choose to live
where they do.
Draw graphs on rural vs urban population.
Thursday:
Why do we have racism in the world? Lead a discussion. Talk about racism in America. Give real world
examples.
Explain what values are.. What are our values??? What is important to you?? Assignment –write a
short paper on values.
Review for test
Friday: test chapter 1- Who Are Americans?
Assignment- section 1 review of Chapter 2. Read the section then do the review that follows.
