REVERSE PULSE BAGHOUSE
Dillman Baghouse for Hot Mix Asphalt Facilities.
With ever increasing specifications, dust handling has become
a critical component in all asphalt plant operations. With that
in mind, Dillman Equipment has designed the Dillman Reverse
Pulse™ baghouse. Modular in design, the Dillman baghouse can
be fitted to your exact size requirements. The Dillman Reverse
Pulse™ baghouse is available in a range of sizes from 5,000
to over 100,000 ACFM. It is a ruggedly constructed system;
manufactured out of 3/16” corrosion resistant steel plating.

A Dillman baghouse includes a primary dust system to
collect the coarse fines. These fines are then available
to be returned to the mix, stored or wasted as needed.
Collecting the coarse and small fines separately minimizes
wear to components.
STATIONARY
Massive, weight distributing, pyramid style support.
Stationary facilities provide a high degree of flexibility for customized layouts and special features. The Dillman stationary
baghouse features massive, weight distributing, pyramid style
supports that provide a solid foundation for the entire baghouse
system.
PORTABLE
The low profile Dillman portable baghouse is built on a heavy-duty
tri-axle frame with operating components already pre-mounted
for easy placement. This single load system is easy to operate and
easy to maintain.
The portable baghouse has a strong tri-axle frame.
PRIMARY DUST SYSTEM
Dillman baghouses feature either a primary collector or an inertial
separator (shown opposite page) for removing large fines from the
airstream before it enters the baghouse. Generally, these particles
are larger than 200 mesh, while fines from the baghouse consist
of particles smaller than 200 mesh. The coarse fines can be easily
returned to the mix.
Since very few large fines enter the baghouse, it can collect small
fines more efficiently. Removal of coarser fines also eliminates much
of the wear from these particles so filter bags and other components last much longer.
Inertial separator removes large fines from the
airstream before it enters the baghouse.
HANDLE DUST EASILY, EFFICIENTLY
A reinforced, large capacity hopper section with powerful auger
and drive system promotes quick and easy dust handling, whether
you want to store, reintroduce or waste the dust.

The Dillman baghouse offers stationary units for design
and performance flexiblility and portable units for quick
set up and mobility. The design of the baghouse collects
coarse fines and small fines separately to minimize wear
of baghouse components.
DUST REMOVAL PORTS
The Dillman Reverse PulseTM baghouse system is equipped with
dust removal ports for optional dust handling systems such as silos,
dust run-around systems, weigh pots, etc.
PULSE AIR OPERATION
The patented Dillman Reverse Pulse process utilizes a rotating nozzle assembly with timed indexing and fast acting air doors. The air
doors keep outside air intake to a minimum, maintaining efficiency
of the baghouse while the rotating nozzle system ensures sequential isolation and cleaning of each row of bags. After aligning the
nozzle to isolate a single row of bags, the air door quickly opens,
providing a pulse of air dislodging the dust from the bags. The air
door is closed, and the row is kept off line, allowing the dislodged
dust to fall away from the bags. As the nozzle indexes to the next
row, the cleaned bags are gradually brought on line, reducing bag
fatigue. A dedicated air compressor is not required as the exhaust
fan provides the air for cleaning. Individually adjustable time
delays on the air door and nozzle indexing allows the operator to
adjust cleaning times to maintain optimal efficiency.
DIRECT DRIVE STEPPER MOTOR
The Dillman turret utilizes a direct drive servo stepper motor. The
direct drive motor has fewer parts for more reliability and easier
maintenance.
Dust removal ports accommodate additional dust
handling systems.
The baghouse is equipped with a reliable turret
design with a direct servo stepper motor.

BAGS
14 oz. virgin Aramid bags allow for low air-to-cloth ratio and
greater collection efficiency.
ACCESS DOORS
Easy access to the clean-air side of the bags is provided with
heavy-duty doors equipped with high temperature rubber seals
for trouble-free maintenance and care.
Access doors on top of the baghouse allow for
easy access for maintenance of bags.

AIRFLOW
REVERSE
PULSE
BAGHOUSE
Dirty air travels through the row of
14oz. Aramid bags, capturing the
particles.
Clean air exits exhaust stack.
Precision-balanced, backward-curved dual-drive
fan assemblies offer a wide range of operating
conditions with higher efficiencies than other fan
designs. Airflow is controlled by vane dampers or
variable speed drives (optional).
Powerful auger and drive system promotes quick and easy
waste removal.

Rotating indexing systems prevents “puffing”
and dust release to the stack. The unique
rotating nozzle assembly ensures sequential
isolation and cleaning of each row of bags.
Gas stream exits the drum mixer or
dryer through duct work and passes
through the inertial separator.
The air stream flows through the inertial
separator which removes coarse particles.
Air flow moves through baffle plates
knocking down any “heavy dust”
that can prematurely wear bags and
cages.
Dust settles in the bottom of the hopper and
then is removed by one or more screw augers
to be stored, reintroduced or wasted.
Reverse pulse air causes the bags to expand and expel
the collected dust cake from the surface of the bag. The
dust is thoroughly flushed into the collection hopper.
