The School Trustees of Klondike Independent School District
The Board of Trustees for the Klondike Independent School District met on the 13th day of July 2015
in regularly scheduled meeting with the following board members present: Kenny Ferguson, Kirk
Tidwell, Quinton Kearney, Kelley O’Brien, Mike Barkowsky, Clay Thixton, Steven Archer,
Superintendent Steve McLaren, Principal Tony Bushong and parent Becky Tidwell.
Board President, Kenny Ferguson, called the meeting to order.
Mike Barkowsky gave the invocation.
Motion made by Kirk Tidwell to approve the minutes of the regularly called meeting on June 2,
2015. Motion seconded by Steven Archer. Motion passed 7-0.
Motion made by Steven Archer to pay the current bills. Motion seconded by Quinton Kearney.
Motion passed 7-0.
Administration reported on tentative master class schedule and then board reviewed Board Operating
Procedures manual.
Motion made by Kirk Tidwell to approve the 2015-2016 Student Handbook. Motion seconded by
Kelley O’Brien. Motion passed 7-0.
Motion made by Kelley O’Brien to approve the 2015-2016 Employee Handbook. Motion seconded
by Clay Thixton. Motion passed 7-0.
Motion made by Quinton Kearney to approve extension of depository contract with First United
Bank. Motion seconded by Kenny Ferguson. Motion passed 7-0.
Motion made by Steven Archer to approve Investment Report for 2nd quarter of 2015. Motion
seconded by Clay Thixton. Motion passed 7-0.
Motion made by Kirk Tidwell to approve the 2015-2016 Appraisal calendar. Motion seconded by
Mike Barkowsky. Motion passed 7-0.
Motion made by Mike Barkowsky to approve Tony Bushong and Steve McLaren as teacher
appraisers for the 2015-2016 school year. Motion seconded by Kirk Tidwell. Motion passed 7-0.
Board went into Executive Session at 9:47 p.m. to discuss personnel and re-entered into Open
Session at 10:45 p.m. No action taken.
Motion made by Quinton Kearney to adjourn. Motion seconded by Steven Archer. Motion passed
7-0.
