ship? I loves sailing where I please.
Can you describe your personality?
I can! Me personality be a humble one!
What dangers do you come across at
sea? Avast! The sea be a dangerous
place! When yer not bravin’ storms and
giant waves, ye got to handle all sorts of
beasties! I once had to battle a giant sea
cucumber! It was quite a pickle!
Do you have any party tricks or special
talents? Arrgh, me beard be quite
talented, actually! It be a great place for
hidin’ and storin’ things ... keys, treasure,
cream soda, maps, a watermelon or two!
If you could have any magical power,
what would it be and what would you
do with it? The power to turn peanut
butter sandwiches into peanut butter and
BANANA sandwiches! Think of the
practical jokes ye could do! Yar har!
What’s the most magnificent thing
you’ve seen at sea? Once I saw a
rainbow that shot lightnin’!
How do you normally spend your free
time? At sea, there be no lawn to mow or
weeds to pull. So, I spend most of me free
time swashbucklin’ on darin’ adventures!
I tried knitting once, but it be too risky ...
Why is it important for children to read?
Books be the greatest invention since the
anchor! Nothin’ be better than readin’ a
grand tale ... except writin’ yer own!
What advice do you have for kids?
Yarrr! The best advice I ever got was:
wear a hat, grow a beard and become a
pirate. Everyone should follow it, though,
if ye be a lass, the beard be optional!
