Day 2Fri, MAR 9: TELAVIV -JERUSALEM - MT. of OLIVES.
UponourarrivalattheTelAvivairport,wearemetanddriveto
the Mt. ofOlives(Ma1hew 24:3)for a panoramicview ofthe
OldCityofJerusalem(Mark14:32-26)andthebeginningofour
Holy Land journey. ConHnue to our hotel for some Hme at
leisure before dinner and overnight in the Holy City of
Jerusalem.
Day3Sat,MAR10:JERUSALEM/BETHLEHEM. Aheranightof
restandaheartybreakfast,thisexciHngdaybeginswithadrive
toMt.ScopusandtheMt.ofOlives(Ma1hew24:3)visiHngthe
Chapel of the Ascension, the Church ofPater Noster andthe
DominusFlevit. WalkalongHosannaRoadtothe Gethsemane
to visit the Church of All NaHons that standsonthe Rock of
AgonywhereJesuswasbetrayedbyJudas(Ma1hew26:36-57).
See the Pillar of Absalom, the Eastern(Golden) Gate andthe
Pinnacle oftheTemple. Thisahernoon, we conHnue our tour
to Bethlehem. We visit the Church of the NaHvity, the
birthplaceofJesus,thenShepherdsFields(Luke2:1-20)andthe
FieldofBoaz and Ruth (Ruth 1:16-17& 4:13). We return to
JerusalempassingRachel'sTomb(ifviewable).InJerusalemwe
visit the Shrine ofthe Book that housesthe Dead Sea Scrolls
and the Model City ofJerusalem which depicts, in miniature,
the HolyCityasit appearedin the firstcentury. Dinner and
overnightatourhotel.
Day 4Sun, Mar11: MASADA -BETHANY-JERICHO-MT.OF
TEMPTATION -VILLAGE OFTHE ESSENES -QUMRAN CAVES -
DEADSEA. Thismorning,wedriveviatheJudeanDeserttothe
Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. A beauHful new road
takesus southalong the shores of the Dead Sea toMasada,
truly a remarkable piece of history. Onthe way, we view Ein
Gedi, a green oasis in the middle of the desert. Arriving at
Masada,weascendbycablecartowalkamongthemagnificent
ruinsofthe fortresswhere, from70-73A.D., the Jewish defenders
made the laststandofthe JudeanrevoltagainstRome andwhere
the remainsof storehouses, cisternsand a 6thcentury ByzanHne
church are sHll on view. Return along the Dead Sea to Qumran,
where the DeadSea Scrollswere discovered. Visitthe remainsof
theCommunity Centerofthe Essenesandthe Cavesofthe Scrolls.
Stopforaswimatthe DeadSea. OntoAncientJerichowherethe
wallscame tumbling down(Joshua6:127) anda commanding view
ofthe Mt.ofTemptaHonandElisha'sFountain.WeconHnueonthe
JerichoRoadviewingtheInnoftheGoodSamaritan(Luke10:25-37)
andtheJudeanwildernessenroute toBethany,the homeofMary,
MarthaandLazarus.ReturntoJerusalemfordinnerandovernight.
Day 5Mon, Mar 12: ST. STEPHENS GATE - WAYOF THECROSS -
GOLGOTHA-HOUSE OFCAIAPHAS-MT.ZION-THEUPPERROOM

Thenwe follow inthe footsteps of Jesus throughthe OldCity to
Pilate's Judgment Hall, the Chapelof the FlagellaHonandthe Ecce
HomoArch(John19:13)whereJesuswastriedbefore Pilate(Mark
15:6). We nextwalktheViaDolorosa toGolgotha,the placeofthe
skull(John19:17),wheretheycrucifiedourLord.OntotheWestern
(Wailing)WallwherethefaithfulJewscrytheirpeHHonstoGodand
to the Dome of the Rock which is built on the ancient site of
Solomon'sTemple(Genesis22:9-14)andovertheRock ofSacrifice
where Abraham offered Isaac (Genesis 22) and the ceremonial
sacrifice ofanimalstookplace.Ourahernoondrivetakesusthrough
the KidronValleytothe Pool ofSiloamandMt.Zion. We visitthe
ChurchofSt. PeterinGallicantuonthe siteofCaiaphas'House,the
Room of the Last Supper (Luke 22:14-20) and the Tomb of King
David. Then ontoa victory celebraHonat the ResurrecHon Tomb
andGarden(John20:1-18).Dinnerandovernight.
Day 6 Tue, Mar 13: JERUSALEM - BEIT SHE’AN - MT. TABOR -
GALILEE -NAZARETH- CANA -TIBERIAS ON THE SEA OFGALILEE.
This morning, we depart the Holy City of Jerusalem and travel
northwardtoBeitShe’an(BethShean)fora visit. ConHnue toMt.
Tabor (Psalms89:12)wherewe alsoview Deboriya, the hometown
oftheProphetessDeborah(Judges4and5)andthe Village ofNain
Day7Wed,Mar14: TIBERIAS-SEAOFGALILEE-CAPERNAUM
- MOUNT OF BEATITUDES - TABGHA - SEPHORIS - JORDAN
RIVER. Thiswill beanexciHngday inthe Galilee area. Ahera
deliciousbreakfast,wedepartthe Romanhotspringsresortcity
of Tiberias via a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee to
Capernaum (John 6:24) to see the ancient ruins of this first
century synagogue where Jesus preached (Ma1hew 4:1317).
Then on to the Mt. of BeaHtudes where Jesus preached the
Sermon on the Mount (Ma1hew 5-7), and to Tabgha, the
chapel dedicatedto the mulHplicaHonof the loavesand fishes
(Mark 6:34-44). We thenfollow the freshmountain watersof
Hermontothe Sea ofGalilee andtothe outletpassage atthe
southernHpofthe sea. We stopat thebeauHfulPilgrimsPark
(and a chance for an opHonal bapHsm) on the Jordan River.
Returntoourhotelfordinnerandovernight.
Day 8Thu, Mar15: TIBERIAS -TELAVIV—Airport. Traveling
westwardacrossGalilee,wevisitMt.Carmel,the biblicalsiteof
Elijah'scontestwiththeprophetsofBaal(IKings18).ConHnue
southwardalong the Way of the Sea toCaesarea, the Roman
City ofHerod, where sights include Crusader forHficaHonsand
the Roman aqueducts and amphitheater. Drive through the
citrusgroves and farmsofthe rich landof Sharonto Ancient
Joppa onthe Seawhere Jonahset sail andwhere Peterraised
Dorcas from the dead. Joppawasalsothe home ofSimonthe
Tanner. Dinner at a local restaurantandthen conHnue tothe
airportforourflighthome.
Day9Fri,Mar16: ArriveNEW YORK. Earlymorningarrivalin
theUnitedStates(EWR)andconHnuehome-the endofamost
memorablejourney.
