Hotel Breo At hotel Breo there are four small green spaces on four of its levels. The common element for all those spaces is the square module of 40/40 cm – it comes in the shape of stepping stones, decorative planters and concrete cubes for sitting. The basement green space is designed as a small courtyard garden surrounded from two sides by glass doors, from the third by waterfall and from the fourth, there is a vertical wooden grid which will be covered by climbing vegetation. The garden can be reached through the glass doors of the library at the basement level. It can be seen sidewards, through the glass doors and from above, from the restaurant of the hotel. In the courtyard space there is a Г-shaped water feature with stepping stones for walking in the water and for crossing it. Two of the stepping stones are actually square concrete planters with Zantedeschia inside. The module 40/40 cm continues in the grass in the shape of concrete cubs 40 cm high which can be used for sitting and at the same time are simple sculptures. The Г-shaped water form is enhanced by the water lighting. Pointed spotlights emphasize the vertical water curtain and the wood grid covered with vegetation. At the two green spots at the hotel entrance on the first floor there is grass and square concrete planters with Zantedeschia. The green area beside the restaurant is a grass lawn with concrete stepping stones enhanced by built in lighting. There are small trees in planters in the grass area and on the deck of the restaurant. The trees are lit up with pointed spotlight situated at their base which emphasize their silhouettes and cast interesting shadows. At the last floor, the terrace of the hotel, the idea of square concrete planters with Zantedeschia continues. The green stripe along the terrace is made in two shades of green – the light green of the grass and the dark green of trimmed lauracerasus “Otto Luyken”. The line is enhanced by built in and pointed lighting.
