Application and Admission Requirements for the MSc in Space Information Applications (ex MAEARTE) Call 2017 - cohort 2018-2020. If you are interested in applying for the Master in Space Information Applications, 2018-2020 cohort you must fulfil with the following sections: I. MSc general admission requirements II. Particular requirements for the 2017 call III. IV. I. Conditions to apply MSc program Documentation to be sent by post and e-mail. MSc general admission requirements 1. The applicant must fulfill one of the following requirements: a) To be graduated from an Argentine University recognized by competent authority, with university degree of bachelor or higher. b) To be graduated from Foreign Universities with a degree equivalent to a bachelor from the National University of Córdoba. This should be supervised by the Academic Council of the Gulich Institute and the FAMAF Board. It can also be validated in the frame of international agreements between UNC and the foreign University. Admission to the MSc program will not mean revalidation of degree or qualification to practice the profession in Argentine Republic. 2. The final admission of the applicant will be subject to: a) Curriculum evaluation according to fellow’s selection procedure b) Approval of an English language reading / comprehension test or the presentation of a certificate demonstrating proficiency at an equivalent level. c) Academic Council of the Career must verify the fulfilment of the stipulated requirements. 1. Italian candidates. a) To be graduated from a degree program of at least 4 years, with official recognition, related to the following areas: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Astronomy, Computer Science, Engineering, Surveying, Geology, Geography, Oceanography, Biology, Veterinary, Environment and Meteorology. b) Submit a work plan which includes the use of SAR images processing to generate products related to the SAOCOM mission and SIASGE II project. These include agriculture, forestry, hydrology, snow and glaciers, the environment and natural resources of land and sea, oceanography, fishing, geology, mining, mapping and territorial planning, panoramic epidemiology, energy, security and emergencies. The Work Plan must be approved and signed by a Development Unit (see point III). c) Fulfil Nacional University of Córdoba requirements to admit foreign student to prograde programs: https://www.unc.edu.ar/node/366 d) Italian applicants who resulted selected must include a letter of endorsement from the Agenzia Spaziale Italiana (ASI), explaining the country's interest so that the candidate can take the Master's degree at the Institute Gulich (Excluding). e) They must also obtain the Certificate of Spanish, Language and Use (CELU). III Conditions to apply CONAE fellowship and MSc program Work plan The Work Plan should clearly mention the problem to be addressed, background in the area, methodology and type of data to be used in up to 2 pages. It must be sent signed by the applicant and the UD advisor. UD endorsement The Development Units (UDs) are working groups or projects, laboratories, agencies, among others, in Argentina that participate in activities directly or indirectly related to the Argentinian National Space Plan. They must be able to receive, for short periods of time, one or more students of the Master's degree. In order to be admitted as a UD, the working group must demonstrate the ability to perform research, to provide a fellow adviser and to have experience in the specific space thematic of its incumbency. The UDs may be a specific project (for example 'SABIAMAR'), a unit with expertise in issues related to the National Space Plan (eg 'Instrument Calibration Laboratory of CONAE), or institutions that use space applications, while comply with the requirements mentioned in the preceding paragraph. The endorsement of the UD must be included in the Work Plan. The Gulich Institute will find an appropriate UD for each Italian applicants, with the agreement of ASI agency. Work plan signed by the candidate and UD advisor (SELECTIVE). 2. Photocopy of the Passport (SELECTIVE). 3. Photocopy of Degree or University Diploma, certified in the University of Origin*. In case the Diploma was in Process, a certificate of Title in Process should be presented (SELECTIVE). *Diploma should be legalized by the University of origin, the Ministry of Education or equivalent of the country of origin and with the Haya Apostille. If the country of origin does not subscribe to the Haya Convention then it must be legalized at an Argentine embassy or consulate in the country of origin. 4. Photocopy of the Analytical Certificate with courses scores and final score average, including fails.* (SELECTIVE). *Analytical Certificate should be legalized by the University of origin, the Ministry of Education or equivalent of the country of origin and with the Haya Apostille. If the country of origin does not subscribe to the Haya Convention then it must be legalized at an Argentine embassy or consulate in the country of origin. 5. Certificate accrediting knowledge of English Language (ie. TOEFL, FCE, etc.) (SELECTIVE). 6. Curriculum Vitae in pdf format (SELECTIVE). 7. Letter of Presentation addressed to the Director of the Master's Degree, Dr. Anabella Ferral.* * Write a cover letter in person, showing your interest in taking the course and why you think you should be assigned one of the available fellowships. It must include a sentence stating that all the information given is sworn statement. (SELECTIVE). 8. Two recommendation letters from scientists and/or professionals, with whom you has shared scientific, academic or professional activities. Preferably the author should have background in the theme of the career. The letter must be signed by its author. (SELECTIVE). 9. Psycho-physical medical certificate (REQUIRED) 10. Proof of approval of the Certificate of Spanish, Language and Use (CELU) (http://www.celu.edu.ar/en) must be attached.(REQUIRED) Important: Applicants who are preselected will be given a performance test in mathematics and scientific reasoning, at a date to be confirmed.
