ELIGIBILITY: Projects, products and services must be completed
and/or installed in Yukon. Solar domestic hot water system receipts,
invoices and/or permits must be dated within one year of submission
to ESC. Renewable energy system applications must be submitted
prior to March 31, 2017 (see Limits to Program).
Renewable energy system must be residential installations and either
Micro-generation program-approved or off-grid (not part of an
electrical grid system) with approved electrical inspection. Renewable
energy systems include solar photovoltaic (PV), wind, hydro, biomass
and geothermal electrical generating systems.
Eligible materials include micro-generation system components
including all electrical and electronic materials and permanent
monitoring systems installed as part of the system; racking systems, as
well as necessary structural improvements related to mounting the
systems.
Non-eligible aspects comprise labour; electrical and building permits,
inspections and fees; tools, equipment and instruments; engineering
and technical consults; system design and modelling; system-related
landscaping; security systems; shipping; training; and, GST.
Solar domestic hot water systems must be certified to CSA Standard
F379 and be used with a CSA approved water tank for solar heat
storage. A list of certified systems can be found on NRCan’s
Performance directory of solar domestic hot water systems.
RECEIPTS AND INVOICES: Receipts and invoices must be
legible, itemized and include: purchase date, purchaser name,
retailer/supplier name, brands and model numbers of items
purchased, description, and cost of individual components.
Rebates will be calculated based on pre-tax cost of eligible
materials. Invoices must have a zero balance or be noted
“Paid in full” and initialed by the contractor.
LIMITS TO REBATE: The Residential Renewable Energy rebate is
limited to one renewable energy system per utility-installed electrical
meter per year.

LIMITS TO PROGRAM: The solar domestic hot water system
rebate is part of the Good Energy program. The Good Energy
program is renewed annually pending fiscal year budget
allocation. The residential renewable energy system rebate is
part of the Residential Energy Efficiency Program pilot which
ends March 31, 2017. Rebate offers are subject to program
funding and revision and may change or end at any time. In no
event will rebate amounts exceed the pre-approved rebate
value.
SUBMISSION AND PAYMENT: ESC is not responsible for lost,
late, incomplete or ineligible submissions. Please allow up to
eight weeks for payment. Payment may be direct deposit if you
have been employed or under contract with the Yukon
government.
QUALIFYING PRODUCTS: ESC relies on NRCan to identify and
validate energy efficient appliances and services. ESC does not
have the technical means to evaluate performance claims of
products that do not meet these standards. ESC does not
endorse any particular manufacturer, supplier, contractor or
installer. The fact that the names of particular manufacturers,
equipment or systems may appear on applications does not
constitute an endorsement. Manufacturers, contractors,
equipment or systems not mentioned are not implied to be
unsuitable or defective in any way.
ENERGY INFORMATION RELEASE: The applicant acknowledges
that ESC keeps program information about services provided
and the applicant’s resulting energy savings as confidential, but
will use data in aggregate in reports and other documents. ESC
adheres to ATIPP and Archives Acts.
DISCLAIMER / NO LIABILITY: The applicant understands that
ESC’s role is to incentivize the purchase of energy efficient
appliances. ESC is not responsible for product installation, the
quality of contractors’ work, the completion of projects or the
quality of products purchased. ESC does not guarantee energy
saving results by approving an application. ESC is not
responsible for retailer claims about the Good Energy program,
program rebates and product eligibility.
