WHAT IS PH IN DRINKING WATER?
The pH level of your drinking water
reflects how acidic it is. pH stands for
“potential of hydrogen,”referring to
the amount of hydrogen found in
a substance. pH is measured on a
scale that runs from 0 to 14. Seven
is neutral, meaning there is a balance between acid and alkalinity. A
measurement below 7 means acid is
present and a measurement above
7 is basic (or alkaline).
WATER WITH LOW PH IS CORROSIVE
TO YOUR PIPES AND CAUSES:
Metallic taste
Blue/green cast to water
Blue/green staining around copper fixtures
Low Ph water can contain higher levels of toxic metals such as copper and lead
Damage to metal piping
Acidic water means a low pH BELOW 7.0
Alkaline water means a high pH ABOVE 7.0
SELF SACRIFICING MEDIA
Acid water passes through the self sacrificing filter media in the pHneutralizer, that
slowly dissolves in the acid water, raising its pH.
HOW IS THIS DONE…?
1. CALCITE
CALCITE is a calcium-carbonate based self sacrificing media that slowly increases the
pH of mild acid water to neutral level.
2. CORROSEX
CORROSEX is a mangesium-oxide based self sacrificing media that rapdily increases the
pH of strong acid water to neutral level.
Always used in combination with Calcite: 30% Corrosex - 70% Calcite
