In 2012, an east coast city girl moved to
Visalia, CA - convinced she’d only stay
until she found a job by the beach and
the surfers. A year later, a Tulare dairy
boy put a ring on her finger and the rest
is happy history.
Westwood Barns is located in Tulare,
California. A long drive through a
winter wheat or summer corn field leads
guests to parking, and a reclaimed wood
bridge brings guests into the wedding
yard.
Lauren and Daniel got married on their
property in March of 2014, and Lauren
decided this couldn’t be the last wedding
they hosted. We’re excited to meet you!
The barn was cleaned out in 2013. After
removing layers of dust, the Westras
found a calendar from 1940 hanging in a
cabinet! If you’re looking for a rustic
barn venue, this is the real deal: complete
with a small calf ranch next door!

Catering
We invite you to choose your own caterer. We ask that all caterers be licensed and self-contained. Proof of licensing may be
requested by the venue to be put on file. A prep area with running water is provided for all caterers. A small chest freezer is
available for ice storage, and as well as a small refrigerator.
Alcohol
You are welcome to have alcohol at your event at no additional fee. Only fully hosted bars are permitted. It is the client’s
responsibility to arrange the alcohol, whether you choose to provide it for the bartender or you purchase it through your
caterer. Bartenders will be required to check guest identification, ensuring that only those over 21 are being served.
Bartenders will also not be allowed to consume alcohol while serving, no exceptions. We also ask that all glass bottled
beverages be poured into plastic cups for consumption (these are to be provided by the client). No hard alcohol is to be
served after the conclusion of dinner service. Bars are required to be shut down 30 minutes prior to the conclusion of your
event, no exceptions. Westwood Barns reserves the right to shut down the bar at any time and will be not responsible
for any refunds should this occur. CLIENT ASSUMES ALL RESPONSIBILTY FOR GUESTS AND ALCOHOL RELATED
INCIDENTS WHILE ON AND OFF THE PREMISES.
Event Hours
Events will have 6 hour time limit. A 1-hour cleanup time is allotted in addition to the 6 hours so that clients may remove all
personal items/decorations that are brought on-site. The property must be vacated by all guests by midnight, no exceptions.
Clients and vendors will have access to the venue to begin setting up on the day of their event beginning at 8:00am.
Rehearsal
A one hour rehearsal time is included in your package. Rehearsals are held on Thursdays preceding the event date. These are
scheduled on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. If there are no events scheduled on Friday, you may choose to have your
rehearsal on this day instead.
Consultation Time
All packages include up to 3 hours of consultation time with the venue coordinator. This includes a 60-day and 30-day
appointment to discuss table layouts and details, as well as any time the client may need to revisit the venue with vendors.
Parking
Westwood Barns can accommodate up to 300 guests in the parking area located behind the venue. This parking lot can
also accommodate limos, busses, trailers, and other large vehicles. The parking lot is lit but Westwood Barns is not
responsible for items left in vehicles, stolen vehicles, or other personal property claims. Westwood Barns will not be
held liable for any damages to vehicles that occur while on our property.
Set Up
Set up of tables and chairs is included in all of our packages. All tables and chairs mus tbe delivered into the barn by noon on
the day preceding the event. Any late or unloaded tables and chairs will incur a $250 fee. Additional rentals, place settings,
centerpieces and all other decorations are the client’s responsibility to set up.
Clean Up
Clean up of trash, tables, and chairs is included in our package; however, it is the client’s responsibility to ensure that all
personal belongings (additional decorations, rentals, centerpieces, dishes, etc.) be removed from the tables at the conclusion
of the event.
On-Site Venue Representative
At least one on-site venue representative will be provided to ensure the success of each event. On-site staff will not be
providing wedding coordination services.

Security
Security is required at all events at a ratio of 1 guard per 100 guests. The cost and coordination for security is NOT included
in our package. Guards will arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of events and remain on-site until conclusion and all guests
have left the property.
Smoking Policy
Smoking is permitted only in designated outside areas. Any smoking related litter or damage will be considered an incidental.
The credit card on file will be charged accordingly to cover additional clean up and/or repair costs.
Insurance
Clients are required to purchase a one day, $1 million general liability event insurance policy for all events. This can be
secured through your own insurance provider or through a third party. Westwood Barns requires that proof of this
policy be on file no less than 30 days prior to the event date.
Weather Conditions
In case of inclement weather, Westwood Barns staff will do everything we can to accommodate your event. Tents may
be rented and brought onsite by the client but they may only be set up inspecific areas. If tents are rented, the client must
notify the venue within 72 hours of their scheduled event date or a $150 service charge will be charged to the client to cover
the cost of rearranging the venue to accommodate the tent. Westwood Barns will be not be held liable for any damage
occurring to rentals or personal items, or for the cancellation of an event due to unforeseen and unavoidable weather
circumstances.
Deposit/Payment Terms
A non-refundable $1000 deposit is required to reserve your date. 50% of the deposit will be applied towards the venue rental
fee and the remainder 50% will be kept as a security deposit that will be refunded to the client within 14 days of the event if
no additional fees were incurred for any incidentals/excessive cleaning fees. A date is not considered booked until a signed
contract and deposit are received. The remaining balance must be paid in full 30 days prior to the event. Acceptable forms of
payment include cash and checks. All checks should be made out to Lauren Westra and can be mailed to 5182 Ave. 248
Tulare, CA 93274. In addition, a credit card number must be placed on file to cover incidentals. Payments may be made and
applied to the final balance at any time.
