Week?
Fun Facts: Our City Logo

and places of worship

granted by the city commission
Created by the Georgia Municipal
Association (GMA) in 2000,
Georgia Cities Week is celebrated
in April each year throughout the
state. The theme for 2002 is
“Connecting Community.” Each
city designs its own programs
to highlight city services and
activities. This activity book is part
of Decatur’s Georgia Cities Week
celebration.

Meet Stevie Decatur
My friends call me Stevie D. Just like our city,
I was named after Commodore Stephen Decatur,
an American hero of the 1800s.
I hope you have fun with this activity book and
find out more about what makes the City of Decatur
a great place to live!
