Blackwell PTA
President’s Desk
Congratulations to Blackwell PTA’s officers for School Year 2017-2018:
Jaime Feinberg President, Tricia Gallagher 1st VP, Neil Gunsteen 2nd VP,
Suzanne Lothary Treasurer, Kathy Tabor Corresponding Secretary and
Joanna Vassilos Recording Secretary. A huge Blackwell round of
applause for stepping up to lead our future endeavors. We are looking
forward to your direction, achieving our PTA Goals and assisting you
where needed.
Blackwell’s PTA wants to continue to offer great elementary
experiences for our children; volunteers are the key to our success!
Please thoughtfully consider sharing your gifts. Now is the time to be
mentored to learn how to successfully implement our many programs
we offer. Plan of Work and End of Year reports guide us to plan a great
year while working on the draft budget over the summer.

Events and Information
SD54 and STC at PTA Meeting!
For the first time ever…as far as I go
back…we shared our Blackwell PTA
meeting with special guests.
Thank you to Dr. Meyers and Ms.
Williams and to STC President, Sue
Budak, for sharing your time with us.
Working together with these
organization’s representatives is key to
Blackwell PTAs many successes.
We united and demonstrated our
willingness to work as a team, find
solutions for challenges and promote
our programs to enhance our
children’s elementary experiences.
We should all be proud to be Blackwell
PTA members!
These events are on our PTA
Radar; please let us know how you
can lend a paw!
Let’s put your face in this

School District 54 is working with
Blackwell’s PTA:
SD54 has agreed to refurbish Blackwell’s
sign (with a fresh coat of paint) and
provide weed prevention within the
school’s landscape. Thank you to
community member, Ms. Darlene, for
going above and beyond by pulling
several weeds from the West side of the
building. All of which demonstrate our
PTA Goals; we value our partnerships!
Thank you to Nan Kubicek
and her By-law’s committee
for successfully passing
Blackwell PTA’s 2016-2017
By-laws. This document
guides our PTA officers to
follow the purposes and
policies of our organization.
