District 54 Community Closet http://sd54.org/closet The Community Closet collects gently used shoes and clothing and provides them free of charge to the families of our students in need. Clothing may be dropped off at any District 54 school or office. For the first time ever…as far as I go back…we shared our Blackwell PTA meeting with special guests. Thank you to Dr. Meyers and Ms. Williams and to STC President, Sue Budak, for sharing your time with us. Working together with these organization’s representatives is key to Blackwell PTAs many successes. We united and demonstrated our willingness to work as a team, find solutions for challenges and promote our programs to enhance our children’s elementary experiences. Blackwell PTA is 202 members strong and it is not too late to sign up! School District 54 is working with Blackwell’s PTA: SD54 has agreed to refurbish Blackwell’s sign (with a fresh coat of paint) and provide weed prevention within the school’s landscape. Thank you to community member, Ms. Darlene, for going above and beyond by pulling several weeds from the West side of the building. All of which demonstrate our PTA Goals; we value our partnerships! Thank you to Nan Kubicek and her By-law’s committee for successfully passing Blackwell PTA’s 2016-2017 By-laws.
