1. What is ‘Vardhana Virtual Wallet’?
Vardhana Virtual Wallet is a unique service which enables you to breeze through a wide array
of financial and non financial transactions using your mobile device at anytime anywhere. The
system which is owned and operated by DFCC Bank PLC (DFCC) is endorsed by the Central
Bank of Sri Lanka.

4. Who Can Register for Vardhana Virtual Wallet?
Any Sri Lankan above 18 years of age who owns a mobile connection from any local service
provider may apply to be registered for Vardhana Virtual Wallet and will be accepted subject
to verifications of the bank.
5. How do I Register for Vardhana Virtual Wallet?
As a DFCC bank account holder, a duly completed Vardhana Virtual Wallet Application which
can be downloaded from dfcc.lk or collected from our branches should be submitted to the
bank.
6. Will I be charged a Registration Fee?
No. Registration for Virtual Wallet is free.
7. Is there a minimum amount that I need to maintain in my Virtual Wallet?
No.
8. Is there a maximum amount that can be maintained in my Virtual Wallet?
Yes. Rs. 100,000.00
9. Do I need to pay any service charges for this service?

10. Are there any transaction limits?
Yes. Limits are applicable for each transaction type. The present transaction limit structure is

11. Can I use my existing mobile number of any Telecom Service Provider?
Yes. You can register with any active mobile connection.
12. Can I have more than one wallet?
Yes. You can register and use multiple wallets.

13. Are there any terms and Conditions that would be applicable for utilizing Virtual
Wallet?
Yes. Terms and conditions applicable with regard to Vardhana Virtual Wallet will be made
available through the www.dfcc.lk web site and Virtual Wallet Application form will contain
the Terms and Conditions which can be retained by you.
14. What mobile devices should I use to access the Virtual Wallet?
The application is compatible with most up-to-date Android and iOS devices. The details of
supported platforms are as follows:
iOS – iPhones or iPads running iOS 6 and above
Android – Running android 4.0(Ice cream Sandwich) and above
15. From where can I download the Vardhana Virtual Wallet App?
Android devices can download the application from Play Store
Apple devices can download the application from ITunes App Store
16. Can I download the app free of charge?
Yes.
17. How do I activate my Wallet?
Contact the bank on the 24 hour hot line +94 11 23500 00.
18. What can I do if I have forgotten my PIN?
Provide a duly signed request to the closest branch to reset the PIN.
19. Can the same wallet be accessed simultaneously from two devices?
The system prevents multiple logins with the same User Identifications as a security measure.
20. Will the app time out, log me out automatically?
Since the app is related to financial services, the bank will take your security very seriously.
Hence, the app will time out if it is not used for a specified period of time.
However the automatic time out can be customized according to your preference. We
recommend that the least time is selected for better security.
21. What do I need to do if I change my Mobile number (SIM)?
The bank needs to be informed in writing and the Wallet created with the old number will be
deactivated. To obtain a Wallet with a new number

22. What happens if I lose my mobile device?
Since your virtual wallet is secured with a PIN there won’t be a high risk. However as a
precautionary measure you can call the bank on +9411 2350 000 to deactivate your profile
until further notice
23. How can I ensure the safety of my log in credentials?
It is recommended to have a phone lock(pattern or Password lock) to avoid unofficial access
to your mobile device. To ensure the safety of the login credentials, Vardhana Virtual Wallet
PIN should not be shared with a third party.
Furthermore visit www.dfcc.lk for more effective PIN security measures.
24. If I need help to use my Virtual Wallet can I obtain 24 hour support?
The 24 hour Call Centre of DFCC Bank can be contacted on +9411-2350 000 in the event you
require any assistance
25. Does the mobile number have to be registered in my name?
Yes. The mobile number should be registered under the wallet holder’s name.
26. Can I link a joint account maintained with DFCC Bank to my Virtual Wallet?
Yes, provided that the operating instructions for the account allow same.
27. Can I Suspend a transaction which was processed through Vardhana Virtual
Wallet
No. Transactions cannot be suspended since the transactions are processed immediately after
the confirmation of the transaction. However the Call Center of DFCC bank can be contacted
on +9411 23500 00 and the bank will look in to the matter.
28. In case of a transaction dispute what should I do?
Please inform the bank on the hotline +9411-2350 000 regarding the dispute no sooner the
transaction takes place. The bank will then revert to you.

1. What is ‘Vardhana Virtual Wallet’?
Vardhana Virtual Wallet is a digital payment solution which enables you to accept payments
for goods and services provided to your customers while managing your cash holding and
cash holding costs. The system which is owned and operated by DFCC Bank PLC (DFCC) is
endorsed by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

What does Registering as a Merchant of Vardhana Virtual Wallet Mean?
Those who register as ‘Merchants’ of Vardhana Virtual Wallet become eligible to accept
payments in modes other than cash and cards. They will receive special identifiers to say they
are ‘Merchants’ and will be eligible to earn certain commissions for transactions other than
purchases that are completed by them.
3. Who Can Register as a Merchant of the Vardhana Virtual Wallet?
Any person or business entity that engages in providing goods or services to customers may
register for Vardhana Virtual Wallet provided that the person or entity conforms to the
AML/KYC requirements and other verifications done by the bank.

What Transactions Can I do with Vardhana Virtual Wallet as a Merchant?
 Purchases – Accept payments for goods and services
 Top up – Reload wallets of customers
 Withdrawals – Pay out cash to customers when they transfer funds electronically
through the Vardhana Virtual Wallet
 Transfers between Own Wallet and the Bank Account

6. How Do I or My Business Register as a Merchant of the Vardhana Virtual Wallet?
Please submit a duly completed and signed Vardhana Virtual Wallet Application Form along
with the other support documents to any DFCC Bank Branch. The application forms can be
obtained from www.dfcc.lk.
7. Will there be a Registration Fee?
No. At present there is no registration fee for Vardhana Virtual Wallet.
8. Would I/ My Business Entity Receive Commission for the Services Provided to
Customers through Vardhana Virtual Wallet?

9. Are There Any Transaction Limits?

10. What is the Transaction Charge for a Purchases Transaction in the Vardhana
Virtual Wallet?
A charge of 1% of the transaction value will be levied for each purchases transaction.
11. Will I Earn Interest on the Funds in the Vardhana Virtual Wallet?
No, there is no interest paid on funds in the Vardhana Virtual Wallet, however, you are free
to move the excess funds to your bank account.
12. Can a Number of any Telecommunication Service Provider be Used?
You can register with any active mobile connection.
13. Can the Corporate Entity Have More Than One Wallet for its Branches?
Yes. The corporate entity can register and use multiple wallets for operations.
14. What Mobile Devices Should I Use to Access the Vardhana Virtual Wallet?
The application is compatible with most up-to-date Android and iOS devices. The details of

18. How do I Activate My Vardhana Virtual Wallet?
Contact the bank on the 24 hour hot line +94 11 23500 00.
19. What Needs to be Done I or One of My Users Cannot Remember the Login PIN?
Provide a duly signed request to the closest branch to reset the PIN.
20. Can the Same Wallet be Accessed from Multiple Devices at the Same Time?
The system prevents multiple logins with the same User Identifications as a security measure.
21. Is there an Automatic Logout for My Vardhana Virtual Wallet?
If you are idle for a prolonged period of time the system will automatically log you out.
22. What is required to change the Mobile number (SIM)?
The bank needs to be informed in writing if there is to be a change to the mobile number
registered for Vardhana Virtual Wallet. Please ensure that the request is signed by the
authorized parties and conforms to the requirements of the bank.
23. What Should I Do if I Lose My Mobile Phone?
You should contact the bank immediately on + 94 11235 0000 and temporarily deactivate the
Vardhana Virtual Wallet. Since your Vardhana Virtual Wallet is secured with a PIN there won’t
be a high risk.
24. Can I Suspend a Transaction Processed through the Vardhana Virtual Wallet?
No. Transactions cannot be suspended since the transactions are processed immediately.
However the Call Center of DFCC bank can be contacted on +9411 23500 00 and the bank
will proactively assist you if a transaction has been erroneously posted.

25. In Case of a Dispute in a Transaction, What are the Courses of Action that Need to
be Taken?
Please inform the bank immediately on +9411 23500 00 and provide the evidence of the
disputed transaction.
