Identifications sample questions (4 points each): *** Define, and explain why this term is
important or relevant. Answers should be about three sentences long. I will give you a
choice of terms to identify, and tell me why it is important. For example, I may list eight
terms but you will only have to answer five. So obviously pick the five terms you know the
best.
Examples:
Social Contract Theory
Direct Democracy
Shay’s Rebellion
3/5’s Compromise
Short answer sample questions (10 points): Like the identification I will list more than you
have to answer, so choose the questions you know the best. For the short answer
questions, they should probably be in the neighborhood of 5-7 sentences. I do not mind if
you draw pictures to illustrate a short answer or simply use bullet point. They can be in
paragraph format, but paragraph format is not required. The purpose of my in class
examinations is to test your knowledge, not your writing skills.
Examples:
List and explain the four functions of ideologies.
Explain the main differences between the New Jersey Plan and the Virginia Plan, and what
elements of each plan were used in the Great Compromise.
