Niue Establish Diplomatic Relations with Japan
Alofi, Niue, 10thAugust 2015: Niue has established Diplomatic Relations with Japan on the 4 th
of August 2015. It is the 13th country that Niue has formally established diplomatic relations
with Japan being the 5th Asian country to develop such relations with.
There are a number of developmental projects on the island that has been assisted by
Japan, and the Niue Government is currently collaborating with the Government of Japan on
the new Grassroots project and the JICA scholarship program.
