Innovation Mission on Industrial Electrification and Power-2-X
13th, 14th & 15th September 2017
Germany, North Rhine-Westphalia
In September 2017, a three-day innovation mission will be organized in North Rhine-Westphalia,
Germany, on industrial electrification and Power-2-X. This mission fits in the trilateral strategy to
strengthen the chemical industry in the Netherlands, Flanders and North Rhine-Westphalia. The aim of
the workshop is to bring together people from Dutch, Flemish and German businesses, research
institutions and government, to share insights on current state of research efforts and directions in this
field, and explore opportunities for international collaboration.
Nordrhein-Westfalen is renowned for their energy intensive industries and the chemical sector. In this
region, many companies are currently developing technologies for, and are doing research on the
industrial electrification. Important companies and research institutes in this field, like Evonik, Bayer,
RWTH Aachen and Forschungszentrum Jülich, are established in this region. The mission is organized in
cooperation with the government of North Rhine-Westphalia and other local network partners.
The mission consists of two parts. The first day of the program will focus on presentations, interactive
panel discussions, networking and matchmaking. German, Flemish and Dutch experts, from companies
and research institutes, will give you an overview of activities in the field and present interesting
projects. During the matchmaking session, you can build your network and exchange thoughts on
selected topics like system integration, electrolysis, power-to-heat and others.
The second part of the program is optional and will consist of several site visits by the delegation to
companies and research institutes in Germany.

Visits to companies in the Ruhr district, Essen/Dortmund


Visits to scientific institutes in the region Aachen

This mission is organized within the framework of the Dutch topsectors Chemistry, Energy and HTSM.
