Picnics - pupils will continue to develop their practical skills making dishes that could be eaten at a picnic. Pupils will be introduced to the Eatwell plate and

The geography focus
this term is continuing with our rivers theme which was started in the
Spring term . This is followed by a study of rivers:
their uses, features and effect on the environment.
Take your class for a fascinating walk through the
life of coasts as they investigate what coasts are,
how they are formed, how they are protected and
why they are constantly changing.
To design and make a windchime. To safely use a variety of
basic tools whilst working with wood, metal and plastic. To
show ideas using annotated sketches and cross-section

Year 5 will focus on preparing for their Year
Group Concert during the first half term. Here,
individuals and groups will gain performance
practice and constructive feedback from staff
and peers. All children will perform.
In the second half of term students recap their theory work
alongside developing their new found understanding of the
Musical Elements in relation to listening and appraising.
RE: This unit explores the Christian church and
the related artefacts, taking part in a local visit
to the church in Corbridge. They then go on to
explore World faith festivals, focussing on
Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Judaism. They
then learn about the origins of Judaism, focussing on Abraham, the covenant made and the
symbol.

This term begins with a continuing study of world
population which was started last term. Children will
study different aspects of population - growth, structure and distribution - in different contexts, contrasting various regions of the world. We conclude
by evaluating the effectiveness of policies introduced in some parts of the work to control population growth.

Year 7 will focus on preparing for their Year
Group Concert during the first half term. Here,
individuals and groups will gain performance

In the second half of term students continue with their work
on Advertising, ending with their big projects demonstrating
all of the knowledge gained by creating their own adverts.
RE
In this unit, pupils explore the idea of The Holy
Trinity and the Pentecost. They learn all about
the beliefs and what is means to be a Christian as
well as exploring how they are seen themselves in
different forms. Pupils focus on an abstract image
to try and represent the Holy Trinity in its three
forms. Pupils go on to learn about the history of
the Christian church, looking at its origins and
different denominations.
