Terrific Response to the 2016 Lineup at Recent Dealer Meeting
Newmar held its 2015 Dealer Meeting and 2016 Product Introduction at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN May 6, 7 and 8. It was an
exciting and very successful event that resulted in over 600 new motor home orders over the subsequent 3 weeks and helped re-establish
our company’s order backlog.
The theme for this year’s event was “Newmar and You …Blazing a New Trail”. This theme and the messages
delivered to the dealers in attendance by members of the Newmar Executive Management Team, focused on how
Newmar has historically blazed new trails in the motor home market. In addition, it emphasized our company’s
commitment to continue to trail blaze over the years ahead in every aspect of its business. These areas include
product development, sales, service, marketing, and design just to name a few.
But the highlight of our time with the dealers in Nashville was the 2016 Newmar product line up. It is my pleasure to share with all of
you just some of the product highlights that Newmar had on display in Nashville.
Not since Mahlon Miller pioneered the first slide room in 1989, has Newmar made more dramatic changes in the area of construction.
Ron Stichter, Newmar’s Vice President of Engineering and his team
have developed a new steel super structure for all Newmar diesel
products (except King Aire) in 2016. We have named it the “STAR”
Foundation. “STAR” standing for Strong, True And Robust. This
new substructure is added to the chassis and provides more strength
and support to allow for more innovation and features that customers
want for many years to come.
Another innovation in the area of construction can be seen on any Newmar diesel product with a
rear bath and integrated awnings. Newmar’s new “Cathedral Ceiling” curves up from the side
walls to the center of the roof at the rear of the coach. This provides almost 6 inches of additional
height in the center of the rear bath. The beauty of this additional headroom is that nothing is
visible from the ground outside the motor home, as the elevated portion of the ceiling is nicely
masked by the integrated box awnings.
A year and a half ago, Matt Miller had a vision to feature full tile, not only on the main floor of
select Newmar brands, but on the floor in the slide rooms as well. He challenged our engineering
team to develop this feature and have it ready in select Newmar diesel products by the 2016 model year.
With a lot of ingenuity on the part of Ron Stichter and his team, and a new slide out mechanism from HWH, Newmar is pleased to introduce
full tile in the flush floor slides of Dutch Star and all four of its luxury motor home brands. We call it “More Floor”.
A critical piece to the puzzle of delivering on Matt
Miller’s vision to offer full tile in flush floor slides is the
HWH slide out system. The HWH system is not only
capable of handling the additional weight of tile floors, as
well as creating the range of motion needed to smoothly
expand and retract the slide room, but it also delivers
several important benefits:
• The HWH slide out system does not require slide tubes to bring a flush floor slide in and out, thus eliminating any
intrusion below the belt line and allows for full height baggage doors.
• This HWH system also eliminates the need for locking arms to secure the slide room when it is retracted inside the coach.
• There are no rollers that touch the tile on the main floor while the slide room is moving in and out, nearly eliminating
the possibility of damage to the tile on the main floor and the need for protective mats.
• The HWH system is a smoother system while in motion, with no sudden lurching or bumping while the slide room is
being retracted or extended.
• Finally Newmar has partnered for over 25 years with HWH, and has used leveling systems engineered and manufactured
by this important supplier during that time.
• Newmar will continue to use its own slide mechanism on all other applications that do not feature tile on the floor
in the slide room.
Newmar has also made several changes to its chassis specifications for the 2016 model year.
For 2016, all Canyon Star models will be built exclusively on Ford Motor Company’s 26,000 pound GVWR chassis.
Enhancements to the diesel chassis offered by Newmar for 2016 include a 15,000 pound hitch rating on Ventana and Dutch Star tag axle
models. In addition, air leveling and electronic ride height control valves have been added to Mountain Aire and London Aire for 2016.
As you may recall, last year, Newmar offered a diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) fill on the driver’s side on Ventana LE and Ventana. For 2016,
all Newmar diesel products will feature the DEF fill on the same side as the pumps available at most truck stops.
A passive steering tag axle will be standard on all 2016 Newmar diesel products featuring a supplemental axle, including Ventana and
Dutch Star. This feature, in combination with Comfort Drive Steering, makes Newmar’s diesel products with a tag axle “The Ultimate
RV Driving Experience”.
A new option for a Spartan chassis will be available on all 2016 Mountain Aire and London Aire models. Freightliner will be the standard
chassis offered on Mountain Aire, London Aire and all Essex models for 2016.
For 2016, Ventana and Ventana LE has undergone a complete life cycle change, including new front and rear caps that feature stainless
steel trim, as well as a new instrument panel. What’s more, 36’ models for both brands have been lengthened to 37’. Also, Ventana LE
38’ models grow to 40’ in length. These new 40’ Ventana LE models will now be built on a larger capacity Freightliner chassis featuring
an Allison 3000 series transmission. You’ll now be able to get a residential refrigerator AND dual pane windows on 2016 Ventana LE
40’ models.
There are also many enhancements to highlight in the area of electronic and entertainment features in all Newmar brands for 2016.
Harman JBL in dash radios will be standard in all Newmar products. These will have 4, 8 or 11 speakers depending on the brand. The
front overhead television in Ventana for 2016, whether standard or optional, will be 40” diagonal in size rather than 32”. In Newmar’s
four luxury brands, the Sony surround sound system has been replaced with a Bose sound bar. And finally, front living and bedroom
areas of the 2016 King Aire will feature Sony 49” Ultra-High Definition televisions. This does not change the televisions used in the
front overhead or exterior entertainment center in the King Aire brand.
• With the direction of Newmar’s Floor Plan Committee, 59% of all the floor plans offered in the 2016 model year
are new.
• Thanks to Newmar’s Designer, Kim Moore, 73% of the interior decors are fresh, and she has introduced some new
wood finishes to the 2016 Newmar product line up as well.
• Kim also worked diligently to develop four new interior decors for the 2016 King Aire featuring fabrics by Ralph
Lauren.
• With the creative eye of Kyle McCrary, 100% of the exterior graphic designs and colors are different than they
were in 2015.
And speaking of exterior features, the 2016 Bay Star will now have side swinging exterior baggage doors for the very first time.
Now this article is not an all-inclusive list of changes and enhancements to the 2016 Newmar product offering, simply a summary of just
some of the highlights. You should get the idea, however, that everyone at Newmar has been extremely busy working since last year’s
dealer meeting on continuing to lead the way by keeping the product fresh, new and exciting. Newmar is committed to “Blazing a New
Trail” and not simply follow the competition!
We hope you had a chance to view Newmar’s new 2016 product line up first hand at the recent Kountry Klub International Rally in July.
If we didn’t see you there, all of us at Newmar would love to show you all that’s new in the world of Newmar motor homes somewhere
during our travels.
I thank you for your continued support and interest in Newmar and our products.
Respectfully,
John Sammut
Vice President of Sales & Marketing

Newgle.com – The Future of Customer Service
Virtually Unlimited Resources – All at Your Fingertips
Introduction to Newgle
Nevertheless, we know that we still do not have all of the
answers, so we have worked hard at providing you with several
options to help you find what you need.
In attempts to revolutionize the RV industry, Newmar is launching
a new service-based initiative that places the spotlight on “Do It
Yourself” customer support. In the past, you may have thought
that your level of service ended with your Newmar dealer
and our 24/7 customer service representatives. However, the
new platform provides you with the ability to access helpful
information about your coach at your convenience.
Newmar’s goal is to provide unlimited support to both technicians
and our customers. By creating newgle.newmarcorp.com,
Newmar’s very own Knowledgebase with the power of Google
Custom Search, we have placed this support right at your
fingertips!
The initial launch of Newgle, released earlier this year, was
geared toward our on-site service technicians, as well as to
those at Newmar-qualified dealerships across the United States
and Canada. Newgle has proven to be an invaluable resource
made available to these technicians for both functional and
technical information. However, Newmar did not stop there.
Freedom Unleashed
By making much of the same knowledge available to you as
a coach owner, we give you the power to learn and retain
information necessary to gain even more freedom with your RV.
As an owner, you have access to functional information specific
to your coach’s brand and year.
“We trust [customers] will find that Newgle provides ease of
access to helpful information,” explains Matt Utley, Newmar’s
vice president of service operations, “and makes their Newmar
RV experience more enjoyable.”
Newgle currently has 11 categories full of Newmar-specific
information: Appliances, Chassis, Electrical, Electronics,
Entertainment Systems, Exterior, HVAC, Interior, Plumbing,
Slideouts, and Miscellaneous.
Each category contains sub-categories to provide you with
even more assistance. For example, the Appliances category
encompasses articles about dishwashers, fireplaces, central
vacuum systems, as well as cooktops and ranges, and more.
Search – or Newgle – It!
Newgle is full of great content, but that content is only good
to you if you can find what you need. That is why Newmar
added the power of Google’s Custom Search engine to the site.
Whether you are in a hurry or just curious about what results will
be returned for a certain keyword or phrase, the quickest way to
find what you are looking for is to “Newgle it!”
By initiating a search, you will receive the top five results from
within Newgle, with the option of viewing more. The search bar
is available on every page throughout the site, allowing you to
conveniently initiate a search from any page you visit.
Newgle, unlike many online forums, is not open to the general
public, making it possible for us to provide you with the most upto-date and detailed information from Newmar and our suppliers.
Resources include – but are not limited to – component user
guides, operating instructions, functional guides, problemsolution and troubleshooting articles, how-to pages, and much,
much more.
Owner’s Guides
The site provides a much-needed facelift to our coach-specific
Owner’s Guides. By transferring the Owner’s Guides to Newgle,
we are able to continuously update them throughout the model
year. This format is more user-friendly and is also searchable.
Item Home Pages
Our “item home pages” are chock full of information about each
part and component within your coach, an image from our parts
catalog, and the Newmar and supplier part number. Item Home
Pages provide a list of all articles in the knowledgebase that are
relevant to the Newmar part number, as well as a list of relevant
coach brands and years where the item may be referenced.
These specialty pages also contain site links, providing you with
a direct route to product specifications, extensive user manuals,
troubleshooting tips, and more, straight from the manufacturer.
Google Search Results
Because it is not feasible for Newmar to keep up with everything
about a particular subject, your “Newgle It!” search will also
initiate results from Google. You may page through these results
just as you normally would if you were visiting Google’s own
site. Our goal is to put all of the information you could possibly
need right at your fingertips.
New Article Requests
If you still cannot locate information via the supplier’s site or
the Google search results, you will have the option to submit a
request for new articles. If you find that our current information
does not meet your needs, we will reach out to our engineering
or production department, as well as our suppliers, to help you
find the answers you seek.
The Future of Newgle
Currently, Newgle only provides information relevant to
coaches from the 2014, 2015, or 2016 model years. However,
our dedicated full-time staff is working to continuously add
information to include more model years and brands.
“We are excited about the future of Newgle,” says Utley. “We
believe that as we incorporate more of Newmar’s supplier
knowledgebase links, as well as provide additional Newmarspecific content, Newgle will be even more valuable as time
progresses.”

that make all of this planning fun. The Klub office is where
we get to meet and greet so many of you…the Newmar
family. Several times a day you enter our little office world
and share with us your adventures with your Newmar. We
meet new members and new owners and share with them
the good times that can be had by joining the Newmar
Kountry Klub. We get to tell about all of the things they
can do and show them the several pages of rallies and
luncheons and caravans that are available to them.
Right at this moment...as this is being typed, we have
traveled back home to Virginia for a few days to spend
some time with my Mom and the kids and grandkids.
Mom and I can shop together, see the oldest grandson
at his lifeguard station, pick up the youngest grandson
at school, and have dinner with my kids. Yes, we do
have to take care of those “little things” (remember
that storyteller?) that gives us joy. We have to visit with
them to get in some hugs and special moments to get
recharged. We do have that final push to get it all together
for Lewisburg and our 30th Anniversary celebration.
HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING
Bob & Bonnie Krieger (12508-L), International Directors
Linda Feece, Klub Coordinator
SHOW TIME
We have been very, very busy getting all the details finetuned for our 30th International Rally. Oh my goodness,
wait…this is going to be published after our FUN time in
Lewisburg! We know that the rally will be exciting because
our Team has worked hard to make that happen. THANK
YOU TEAM! We have made several stops in Lewisburg
and enjoy the town more and more. We hope that you
have discovered what we already know. Lewisburg really
is the “Coolest Little Town”.
So now, we must repack and return to Nappanee to
tackle all of those last minute details, handle the last
minute glitches, and be forever thankful that Linda is there
conducting the show and keeping all of us on target! The
Regional Directors and all of our wonderful volunteers will
be arriving. We are looking forward to seeing old friends,
meeting new friends, having adventures with you!
By the time you read this, we hope to have our feet up
briefly at the beach with the grandsons and saying…
..”Whew….that is done and put to bed. Wasn’t so bad
after all. We just may do this again!”
Good times together once again!
Take care
Bonnie and Bob
We have to say again and again that the West Virginia
Fairgrounds staff has been wonderful. We only have to
ask and they are right there with what we will need.
PS: Now, on to several Regional Rallies and to Pueblo,
Colorado!!
But...right this moment in time as this is being typed,
we are BUSY!! There are golf carts to be reserved, there
are dinners to be planned, there are seminars to be
scheduled, there are entertainers to contact, there is new
merchandise to be ordered, there are treats to be ordered
for the pet contest, there is a parking layout to be plotted,
there is a Members at Large election to conduct, oh and
before we forget, there are Newmar members arriving!

international members-at-large
for a smaller, gently-used Newmar rig. Chances are, we will
be spending most of our time in the Western states and will
more than likely summer in the Northwest.
One for the Road! By the time
you read this (those six words
we always hate to write), the
Lewisburg International Rally
will be in our rear-view mirror
and we feel sure we will be
looking back on it with fond
memories. We will have elected
our new Members-at-Large and
regardless of who now holds the
office, we are sure they will do a great job. Now, it is time
for us to get out of their way and let them put their personal
stamp on the job. We have known all of the candidates for
many years and we believe they all have great respect for
the Klub and Klub members. They will work hard to move
the Klub forward. Our best wishes to them!
But who knows for sure? One of the great things about
life is the adventure of it! We have been blessed with good
health and, as long as that continues, we will probably be
on the road in a Newmar product of some fashion, visiting
Klub rallies whenever possible. We've got too many great
Klub friends not to be in a campground somewhere, pulling
out the chairs and sitting in a circle, renewing our wonderful
friendships and getting caught up on the latest RV gossip.

So we leave the International, and return to “civilian life”.
This will take some adjustment! We've been Klub members
for about 14 years and we have owned three Newmar rigs.
During that time, we have driven over 220,000 miles and
have held a Klub office for around 12 of those years. We've
loved every minute of it! Along the way, we've been assisted
by many Klub members who have helped make the job look
positively easy. In point of fact, it hasn't always been easy,
but it's always been rewarding!

THE ALL NEW 2016’s

And we've met and befriended so many great people. We've
said this before, but RV'ers in general are the greatest folks
on earth, and the best of the best are our Newmar Kountry
Klub members! If you look at the names in our cell phone
Contacts list, at least half of them are Newmar friends, and
we don't expect that to change. Thanks so much to our
members, our Klub officers, Newmar Corp, and the Miller
family for supporting us.
So, where do we go from here? We expect to be on the
road for the rest of the summer. We will be in Michigan for
a while, attending to the final wishes of my parents to have
their ashes scattered near Traverse City, where they spent
many of the happiest years of their lives. Then we will head
back to Tucson until the 2016 travel season resumes. Along
the way, our 50th wedding anniversary will overtake us, and
in May of next year, we will be taking a river cruise from
Amsterdam to Budapest.

As of June, we had 16
couples registered for our
rally in Crozet, Virginia the
week before the International.
Since I am writing this before
the rally is to take place, I
can’t really report much about
it! If all goes as planned, we
will be welcoming Evan &
Debbie Hughes as our new presidents. Tom & I were
chapter presidents for 3 years, and enjoyed our time doing
so; please give Evan & Debbie your support to keep the
chapter active.
If you will be in north central Florida this winter, please join
us for lunch on the third Tuesday of each month, with the
first scheduled for November 17 in Ocala. These luncheons
are open to any member of the Klub, not just Fulltimers.
Be sure to make a reservation using the on-line Kountry
Klub calendar, which will have information about time and
place, so that Trish Brown, your host, can make an accurate
reservation

REGION 1 // AZ, CA, CO, NM, NV, UT
Region Directors :: Marty & Marion Marcum (17221)

International is a wrap. If you
didn’t come to Lewisburg, West
Virginia the last week of July
you missed out on one of the
best ever Newmar International
Rallies. Our Inter national
Directors, Bob & Bonnie Krieger,
and all the Regional Directors
worked together to put on a
fantastic event. Next year the International will be in Pueblo,
Colorado beginning September 26. Yes, it is quite a bit later in
the year that we are accustomed to but the weather should be
great and if we are lucky the fall colors should be prevalent in the
surrounding mountains. We will need a lot of volunteers in Pueblo
for parking and registration. Region 1 will be responsible for both.
We picked up our newly resided and painted motorhome in
Nappanee at Newmar in mid-May and spent a couple of months
seeing the sights in the New England states and Washington,
D.C. before the International. We discovered how much we
missed our motorhome on the trip from our home in Nevada
to Nappanee when we had to spend several nights on the road
staying in motels, sleeping in strange beds, and eating a lot of
restaurant food not to mention dragging suitcases in and out every
day. Remember when it used to be fun traveling and staying in
motels on vacation? Did we get spoiled or what?
The rally season is about to heat up in Region 1. Max & Penny
Nuttall are hosting the California Golden Bears Rally in Sonora,
California from September 9-13. The Nevada State Rally will be
hosted by George & Cheryl Zellers in Hurricane, Utah September
21-24. Joe & Mary Ann will be hosting the New Mexico Chile
rally in Elephant Butte, New Mexico October 7-10. The Region
1 Rally will be October 15-19 (more about the Regional Rally
below). The final rally of 2015 is the Arizona State Rally hosted
by Ted & Ruth Ann Hindes in Tucson, Arizona. Check out the
details online for all of these.
The Region 1 Rally will be in Lake Havasu City, Arizona at
the Havasu Falls RV Resort. Some of what we have planned
includes 3 dinners and 4 breakfasts, an evening at Grace Arts
Theater, we have chartered a jet boat for a 3 hour tour on Lake
Havasu, a trip to the famous Desert Bar (100% solar) and plenty of
free time to explore the area. There is still some space left at the
time this is being written so go online and register to attend.
If all of the rallies about isn’t enough we are also hosting the
Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Special Event. This year 20 rigs
will be attending the Fiesta from October 2-7 in beautiful
Albuquerque, New Mexico. If you have never experienced this
spectacular event it is something that you definitely should add
to your bucket list of things to do and see. It is amazing to see
hundreds of colorful hot air balloons rising off the desert floor early
in the morning and float quietly overhead. We can be reached at
either 562-762-8853 or [email protected]
AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2015
ARIZONA
We are past ‘half time’ on our way from spring back to winter when
we snow birds return to our winter travels. This is a wonderful
life style that we are very blessed to be able to take advantage
of. We joined the Fulltimers NKK chapter this spring at the urging
of other members although we are not quite fulltimers. We have
a small place that we spend some time in in winter and that we
can fall back to should we be forced off the road for whatever
reason. This makes the wife feel more secure and as they say,
“When the wife is happy, everyone is happy”.
We want to give a very special thanks to the outgoing officers
of our Arizona NKK chapter, the Sun Catcher’s. Our soon to
be recent past presidents, Mike & Peggy Williams, have done
a wonderful job of leading the Sun Catchers Chapter since
2011. Their Secretary-Treasurers for that same period of 2011
through 2015 David & Bev Simons have managed the everyday
correspondence, treasury and membership assisting the William’
in the operation of the chapter. Speaking of membership, our
rolls have increased from thirty-one member couples to forty-one
during their five year term! On behalf of the entire Sun Catcher’s
membership I wish again to thank this outgoing team very much
for their hard work and service. Now we welcome a new slate
of officers taking over the reins on September 1, 2015 (see the
chapter article for the list of new officers). We want to give a great
big SHOUT of HURRAY to them for taking over these important
positions and encourage them to solicit help from us and all the
chapter membership to assist them with their responsibilities.
We will be holding our 2015 Arizona State Rally in Tucson this
year with the local Newmar dealer Freedom RV providing a very
substantial amount of financial support for this rally. If you are
heading to the southwest in October 2015 and passing through
Tucson or winter close enough to drive on over we urge you to
consider putting this rally on your schedule. Look for the quarter
page advertisement in this issue or find us on the calendar
at October 22-25. We hope to see you there.
Lastly, we are hosting the ‘Gathering in the Desert’ in
Quartzsite January 13-18, 2016. Our co-Hosts will be Peggy
and Ed Owens. We plan to make this event as good or better
than 2015 so come out and join us. The Quartzsite RV Show
should be on every RVers ‘Must See’ list.

ARIZONA SUN CATCHERS
Hello to all Newmar owners. Guess we don’t need to say much
about the Newmar International rally in West Virginia several
weeks ago. If the positive comments hasn’t been passed on
regarding the fun, food and more fun and more food just wait.
Another wonderful time was had by all. We are currently on the
Newmar Caravan in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and having
a wonderful time making new friends and visiting with old friends. We do want to congratulate our new Sun Catcher Chapter
Officers, effective August 1, 2015. First a special thank you to
Dave & Beverly Simons (the current secretary and treasurers)
who has made our job as President a very pleasant experience,
however after 5 years it’s time to have some new people and
new ideas take over.

And thanks to everyone for your support over the past five years
from what we see going forward the next years will be even better. Regards, Mike and Peggy Williams (19193)

CALIFORNIA 49’ERS
Here it is the beginning of June and summer and as Charlotte lets
me know, our dining room table is covered in RV magazines and
brochures. I’m planning for some of our future trips this summer
as well as the California 49’ers Rally. It’s really interesting to do
this planning because as we review what different places have
to offer, we get to know about them... “Hmmmm, I had no idea
THIS was here”.
CALIFORNIA GOLDEN AIRES
August will find us on the American Heritage Caravan. The
International Rally in Lewisburg will be history. We will be going
in early to learn a little bit about Parking and Registration. Region
1 will be handling this at the 2016 International Rally in Pueblo,
Colorado. Start making your plans now. Those of us on the west
coast have been coming east, so hopefully we will have a good
turnout for this first rally in Pueblo, Colorado.
After the American Heritage Caravan we will be make stops in
Nappanee and Charlotte to get some things checked out. We will
then start heading west so we can attend the Nevada/Utah Rally
in Hurricane, Utah. From there we will be attending the Region
1 Rally in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Not to be forgotten is
the California Golden Bears Rally in Sonora, California on
September 13, if we can make it back west in time.
We have new Vice Presidents in Walt & Saundra Zarella (20079).
They will be co-hosts for our Rally at Indian Waters RV Resort
January 3-6 in Indio. This rally takes place just before the FMCA
rally also in Indio. After that rally you can go to the “Newmar
Gathering in the Desert” in Quartzsite. It is a great way to
get your “Newmar Fix”. Look at the Calendar for details. Our
California Golden Aires Indio Rally cutoff date is December
1. We only have 35 sites, so you will probably want to sign up
early. More information in the Klub Calendar.
Stay safe on all your travels and plan on attending the 2016
International Rally in Pueblo, Colorado and our California Golden
Aires Indio Rally.

CALIFORNIA GOLDEN BEARS
Summer is almost here and by the time you read this, it will
almost be over. This is the best time of the year here in Northern
California.
That goes with the plans we have started working on for the
California 49’ers rally for next year. It will be in Buellton on
April 25 - 29. Traveling up and down the coast on the 101 we’ve
passed through Buellton many times, so it was really fun to stop
and take a look around that area. We are developing an agenda
that will have a couple of interesting places and lots of free time
to go and see more in the area. This area has much to offer so no
matter in which direction you head, you will have lots of missions,
museums, and streets to explore. Looks like we should have a
great time.
The International Rally is over. We hope everyone had a great
time and a few passing through will have signed up to attend
our rally. The 15th Anniversary Rally for The Golden Bears is
September 9-13 at The Motherlode Fairgrounds in Sonora,
California. Plans are set: A tour of Columbia State Park, gold
panning, Indigeny apple brandy tour, a Tennessee Williams play
“The Glass Menagerie” (please let us know if you are interested
in going so we can get the tickets), 3 museums (including a
Korean war museum) with plenty of time to explore this history
rich area of California. Golf will be on Wednesday, September 9.
If your schedule permits, plan for extra days as there is much to
see and do in this area. Yosemite is 2 hours from Sonora, there
are three caves (one with a zip line), Railtown 1897 State Park in
Jamestown, two casinos (one with a bowling alley), wine tasting,
and lots of shopping. There will be a special Prime Rib dinner for
this celebration. The Fairgrounds does not take reservations for
extra time. They assured us there are always plenty of sites. We
are hoping for a great turnout. A special thanks to John Sammut
for donating a special present to all those attending the rally.
We will be looking forward to see all of you at the California
Golden Bears rally in Sonora, California on September 9 -13.

a great job.
In 2016 the Newmar International Rally will be in Pueblo,
Colorado. The Nevada Motherlode chapter is planning a rally
in Moab, Utah before the International Rally. George & Cheryl
Zellers will be hosting this rally for those who will be in the west
and for those who haven’t seen this beautiful area. And for those
who were unable to attend the Bears Rally this year, 2016 will
be a combined California State/Golden Bears Rally following
the International. We will have details in the next Konnection.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the many people
from Newmar Corporation that leave their homes and families to
attend our Newmar Kountry Klub International Rallies. We have
gotten to know many of them over the years and have come

Newmar unit. We also know that our Klub would not survive
without the support of the Miller Family and the Board of Directors.
Thank you for making our Klub a family.

REGION 2 // AK, ID, MT, OR, WA, WY
Region Directors :: Frank & Janice Hasman (17704)
This year’s rally season has
thus far been a great success.
The Region 2/Oregon State
Joint Rally held June 1-5 in La
Grande, Oregon was attended
by 16 couples with good
food, fun, and fellowship. We
welcomed two first timers and
made sure they had a good
time – they said they would be
back. Next the International
Rally held in West Virginia was
also a great success. Jan & I want to thank all the volunteers and
specially thank Ross & Marie Turney, our Oregon State Directors,
for filling in for us as I recover from surgery to replace my hip.
The other 2015 Region 2 rallies are next: Idaho State Rally is
August 25-28 in Sandpoint, Idaho, and the Washington State/
Evergreen Aires Joint Rally is October 8-12 in Kennewick
Washington. See the rally ad in this Konnection or check the
“Calendar of Events” in the Konnection Magazine or on the NKK
web site for more information. We plan on attending both of
these rallies and hope to see many of you there.
Travel Safely
IDAHO
As we write this, we just concluded our Region 2 Rally in La
Grande, Oregon. We had a great time in a new area for us.
Meeting and watching the famous bronze sculptor, David
Manuel, was excellent. He was quite a story teller, too. Joseph,
Oregon is a beautiful town, out in the middle of plush green
mountains. Just outside Joseph was Wallowa Lake. This was
another gem. Region 2 Directors, Frank & Jan Hasman, along
with Oregon State Directors, Ross & Marie Turney, put on a
great rally. Lots of great food and great times.
In July, we hope everyone enjoyed the International Rally in
West Virginia. Now we can enjoy our Idaho State Rally in
Sandpoint, August 25-28. We are excited about our plans for
this rally. We plan a boat cruise on the largest lake in Idaho,
Lake Pend Oreille. It is also the 5th deepest lake in the Nation.
Sandpoint is also right in the middle of 3 Scenic Byways. And
only about an hour from the Canadian border. And we have
some great food set up.
OREGON
We wrote this month’s article at the conclusion of our Oregon
State/ Region 2 Rally in La Grande, Oregon June 1-5. The
weather was a little iffy as we prepared for the weeks festivities.
Fortunately it improved so we spent some time outside and
enjoyed the late spring in the Blue Mountains of Eastern
Oregon. We had a full slate of activities planned for our
Newmar friends and looked forward to meeting several new
attendees. The club house was very nice and we were be able
to comfortably handle all during inclement weather. Marie & I
left there and headed to “Camp Newmar” for some work on our
coach to add several items that we have decided we “cannot”
live without. I’m sure some of you can relate to those feelings. Then it was on to the International in West Virginia after we did
some sightseeing in the Nappanee area. This trip found Marie &
I filling in for Frank & Jan Hasman’s duties at the International.
We welcomed the challenge and we had no trouble as the
International provided a welcome supply of volunteers. That is
what makes all of our rallies and gatherings so great is the fact
that there are always those who step forward to help. RVer’s are
the greatest. Wishing you all safe travels and we look forward
to seeing you down the road at another great RV adventure.
Have fun and above all, safe travels.

WASHINGTON
We are sitting in our coach on the driveway of my brother’s
home in Walla Walla, on our way to Spokane after the Region
2/Oregon State Rally. Isn’t it great to have your home with you
wherever you go!
On our way to this rally, we took the opportunity of staying
at the Columbia Sun RV Park in Kennewick. It exceeded our
expectations! The event room is amazing with an area for
our meals and a separate area for games. We were also very
impressed with all the sights to see in the Tri-Cities area.
This is our last chance to remind you to register for the
Washington State/Evergreen Aires Rally. Registration
information should be in this Konnection. Please be sure
and register before September 1st. We are looking forward
to seeing you in Kennewick on October 8th!

REGION 3 // AR, KS, LA, MO, OK, TX
Region Directors :: Larry & Katie Harrington
(17407-L)
We are experiencing the pull
of the open road, it has us in
an iron grip. We are packing
everything a body should need
in any situation. We have all our
plans made and dates written
down for many special events.
As this is written we will leave
here on June 11 and go to the
Oklahoma State Rally and then
on to the Kansas State rally and then to Nappanee for a few days.
We will leave there with possibly a few other coaches and head to
the International rally for training and a great rally. We are leaving
there to go on the Maritime caravan. A trip we have wanted to
do for many years.
Since our last article we have attended the Texas State Rally in
Weatherford. It was great to see many of the folks we have had
the pleasure to rally with so many times. We all got together in
the rally hall and made tin can flowers. Ellen Glison was a great
teacher, and we all seemed to have fun. The flowers were all
different but all pretty.
We went to a local theatre to watch a young man by the name of
Michael Hix. He was very entertaining and we enjoyed a variety
of songs and humor.
The weather was mild with rain one night. That is a very good
average for Texas this year. We went through many flooded
areas on the road. It has rained almost every day for the last
month and we are beyond wet. We are looking forward to dryer
weather on our trip.
We have all of our plans made for the Region 3 rally in Texarkana
in September.
Our plans are also made for the Christmas in Branson Rally. If
you are looking for a great time with plenty of great entertainment
we still have a few openings. Branson is such a beautiful area.
The colors of fall are still abundant with a feel of fall in the air.
ARKANSAS
Often our plans must be adjusted to fit the situation or the
unexpected. Sometimes it’s the weather, sometimes its
deadlines, sometimes it’s a challenge or something. Much of
the time things don’t go exactly as planned. All of those little
bumps in the road and even unexpected pleasures and joys are
a part of the adventure and I suppose a big part of what makes
us RVers. That is, we like a good adventure especially the joys
we get from RVing!
Several Arkansas Kountry Klub members entered the 2015
International Rally grounds in Lewisburg, West Virginia, in a
caravan, at least that was the plan back in May as we were
writing this. We hope KK members everywhere had adventures
that included the 2015 International Rally, one or more of the
AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2015
Newmar Kountry Klub’s 2015 caravans that go to exotic places
with history, interesting people, beautiful scenery and a lot of
pleasure and joy.
Well, well here it is August and almost certain to be hot and dry in
Arkansas. However, if we are on schedule, we are enjoying the
Newmar Kountry Klub 2015 Newfoundland Caravan when you
read this. As we write, in May, Arkansas is wet and cool, when
it is normally getting dry and beginning to be hot. Speaking of
wet, the Arkansas River reached its highest crest since 1990 and
lacked only about 6 inches making it to the surface of the street
in front of our house. We were in no danger. Several folks, just a
few subdivisions away, were not so fortunate. Some had up to
4 feet of muddy water and yuck in their homes.
As we begin our own 2015 summer adventure, we happily
look back on a nice Arkansas State Rally and forward to a
great Razorback Kountry Klub Rally in the fall. Join us at
Cedar Oaks RV Resort, Grove, Oklahoma on October 9-13,
immediately after the Region 3 Rally in Texarkana. Make it a
series! Please come, you are sure to enjoy good food, fun and
fellowship in the green country of northeast Oklahoma.
To sign up for the Razorback Kountry Klub Rally or if you
have questions please call Ruth Ann Hairston at 870-7030175. She is handling the camping reservations, too. Give her
a call.

KANSAS
The May Kansas Kountry Sunflower rally was changed from our
regular third weekend date to June 4-7, due to several members
having conflicts with family members graduation ceremonies.
The Sunflowers met at the Covered Wagon RV Park in Abilene,
Kansas and had 7 rigs in attendance, including new chapter
members Kip &Crystal French and their granddaughter, Lillian.
On Friday, we visited the Greyhound Hall of Fame, the Russell
Stover Factory Store and then finished the day with a walking
taco supper. On Saturday, we visited the Dickinson County
Historical Museum and the Independent Telephony Museum. Plus,
on Saturday evening we had a great meal at Mr. K’s Farmhouse
Restaurant and then attended Symphony at Sunset on the
grounds of the Eisenhower Presidential Library Campus. Thank
you to Steve & Blanche Smith for planning and hosting a fun rally.
As this is written on June 25-28, Sherry & I will be hosting the
Kansas State Rally at Deer Creek Valley RV Park, Topeka, Kansas.
We will report on activities from the Kansas Rally and also our
experience at the International Rally in the next Konnection.
We look forward to seeing you at a rally during 2015.

Louisiana Bayou Kruisers
The Bayou Kruisers relax during the summer and kick-off
their camping season in the fall. Our first rally of the 2015-16
camping year starts on September 24 with a rally at Lakeside
Campground in Livingston, Louisiana. The campground is

easily accessible from I-12 and the facilities include a large
kitchen and gathering area where all the fun, tales, exchange
of RV service insight and lots of great food is consumed. We
welcome all to join us.
The second rally of the camping season begins on November
5 when we gather at Poche’s Fish-N-Camp in Breaux Bridge,
Louisiana. That is our annual holiday event—make them both
if you can. We will provide you more info on the rallies in 2016 in
the next issue. Call Ira Snyder, 504-250-9391 for more details
or send him a note at [email protected].

MISSOURI
Here it is already summer in Missouri and the rally season is
well underway. We have had a successful rally at Coachlight RV
Campground where we finalized the renaming of the Missouri
Chapter as the MID-MO Wanderlusts. The bylaws were discussed
and a final draft will be typed and finalized at the next rally in St.
Peters, Missouri, June 10-14. The first President of MID-MO
Wanderlusts is Dale Daniels. After the new president was elected,
he took control of the meeting and the remaining officers were
elected.
a rally before. It is always great to get to know new Klub members
and show them what Food, Fun and Fellowship are all about.
Along with all the things that need to be taken care of around
the house, we are putting the final touches on the Newfoundland
Caravan. We are looking forward to getting the caravan members
together and getting to know them. We have what we think is
going to be a great trip lined up for the caravan.
We hope to see many of you on the road. Until then have safe
travels and may God Bless each of you.

TEXAS
Spring is almost gone and with it the end of the spring rallies. We
have had great fun seeing everyone again after the long winter.
Unfortunately, both spring rallies had days of rain, but in spite of
all the puddles and gray skies we enjoyed catching up with all.
Then Cathy & Mike Hutchinson taught us all a great new game,
“Pass the Ace”, that had us laughing so hard there were tears
in our eyes.
By the time you read this, we will have completed our June rally
and the International Rally. The next rally will be our State Rally.
It will be September 16-20, at Ozark’s Mountain Springs RV
Park, Mountain View, Missouri. We plan to visit some Historic
Mills, have a picnic lunch, and enjoy the fall in the Ozarks. The
information has been in the Konnection and a deadline of Aug.
15 will allow us to finalize all the arrangements. If you are reading
this after the deadline contact Joyce or I as we may be able to
accept another coach.

MISSOURI MID-MO WANDERLUSTS
We are into our 2015 rally season and just had our May rally at
Coachlight RV, Carthage, Missouri. It was a huge success with 15
units and 3 new members. We visited a business on the square
with a very interesting history and spent an afternoon at George
Washington Carver National Park. Some spent the evenings
playing games at the clubhouse. Of course there were golf and
lots of wonderful food.
As this is written our next rally is June 10 – 14 in St. Louis,
Missouri, which will be very enjoyable. We will tour the James S.
McDonnell Prologue Room and Dragonfly Farms. Then on to the
International Rally in Lewisburg. West Virginia. We have a good
group going to West Virginia and are looking forward to this rally.

OKLAHOMA
It has been quite a spring in Oklahoma. After weeks of cool
temperatures and rain almost every day, summer has finally
arrived.
As we are writing this article, we are getting ready for the
Oklahoma State Rally in Oklahoma City. We are looking forward
to getting to meet some new Klub members that have not been to
Page 22
Two weeks ago we had our state rally. In spite of the fact that
Texas has been getting more than it’s share of rain, the skies
cleared up for this weekend which allowed the guys to enjoy a
round of golf and the girls to explore the cute antique stores on the
square of Weatherford. We had an absolutely wonderful caterer
that served some of the best home cooking. Then on Saturday
we were treated to a great performance at the Texas Opry House.
The performance was full of energy to say the least and got the
audience totally involved. The cast sang songs from the past
that reminded us of our younger years and even moved some to
dance in the aisle. And yet his rendition of “I’m Proud To Be An
American” at the end of the program, with the spotlight shining on
a true wounded warrior carrying the flag down the aisle, brought
tears to the eyes of many. It was a very touching moment. Once
again we were reminded of how blessed we Americans are. From
there, we all went to the Mesquite Pit for some delicious food.
And, of course, the evenings were filled with fun and fellowship.
That just about catches us up, but we would like to extend
an invitation to any and all, if you’re going through Texas at
some point on your journeys, please feel free to stop by and
attend one of our rallies. We would love to see you and get to
know you better.

REGION 4 // IA, IL, MN, ND, NE, SD, WI
Region Directors :: Everett & Julie Israel (10622-L)
Hello everyone. What a
super International Rally in
Lewisburg, West Virginia! For
many attendees it was their
first International. For others it
was a yearly event. For most, it
provided us a chance to travel to
a place we have not been before
and to learn about its rich history.
We had the opportunity to soak
up the breathtaking beauty, to
descend into a coal mine, ride
the Cass Railroad, and attend oodles of great seminars. We also
had the opportunity to “jam” a little, show off our crafts and sell
some of our wares. Some participated in a poker run, listened
to the award-winning band “Blue Highway”, made new friends
and reconnected with others. We want to thank Bob & Bonnie
for “thinking-outside-the-box” in their willingness to explore new
ideas. Their willingness to make changes in the rally schedule
and to try out new ideas resulted in an outstanding rally. Thank
you for exploring new ideas and listening to your customers, the
rally Attendees!
For us it was a homecoming of a sort. Our family spent three
years in Morgantown, which is located in the northern part of West
Virginia while Ev was working on an advanced graduate degree at
West Virginia University. As the result of doing his dissertation, he
gathered data in the Southern part of the State. At this point in
our lives there was no time to explore this great State; only time to
study, research, and write a dissertation on $333.33 a month. But
those were good years in our life. We lived in a trailer park along
with other student families. We were all in the same boat---young
families working toward a goal, optimistic about the future, and
some of us living on a shoestring! We had two children then and
they loved being there. They still talk about getting a cardboard
box from the grocery store they could decorate and play with all
week before it was time put the box in the trash and they could
get another box for the next week. When we would visit family
back in New York State their uncle would always sing “Take Me
Home Country Roads” for them. Good memories.
We made many friends during those years. One couple had
been born and raised in the hills and hollows of West Virginia
and had never left the state until we took them to New York State
for Christmas. What an eye opener for them! He finished his
undergraduate degree and two master degrees, and then went to
Dallas, Texas with the Army Corps of Engineers, and from there
to Saudi Arabia. What a culture shock!!!! Talk about eye opening
experiences for them. They are in the process of retiring in Amish
Country in Ohio. We spent a week with them in Ohio after the
International Rally.
I remember driving in West Virginia. We were either going up,
down or around a “holler”. There was great poverty in the rural
areas especially with the coal miners. When it snowed their
philosophy was the good Lord put it down and the good Lord
AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2015
will take it away, but in the meantime we will cover the roads
with coal dust!
On to a new topic (or a chance for us to get on a soap box to help
chapters recruit new members)! We have been the President of a
Chapter for four years, a State director for 6 years, and a Regional
Director for 4 years. We have heard about sending new Newmar
owners and new NKK members’ letters to recruit them as chapter
members for years. In most cases this rarely works. What we
have found out is THAT two other approaches work much better!!!
In most states only 20 to 30% of the State NKK members belong
to their State Chapter. Your Regional Director can get a State NKK
membership list with phone numbers and e-mail addresses. The
Chapter officers can go through this list and determine potential
chapter members. The Chapter members can assign themselves
to visit and/or make phone calls to the potential members. A
second approach for recruiting new members similar to the
first one is to keep track of the new Newmar Owners who have
joined NKK in our state. In turn have your Regional Directors
find additional information about the new NKK members. The
Chapter members can make personal visits and/or phone calls to
these potential members. A recent Chapter picked up two new
members in less than 2 weeks using these approaches and the
new members are happy they have joined. Chapters may want
to go a step further. They may want to invite the potential new
members to a rally at no cost to them. The Chapter members
can be made aware of information about the potential members
so they will feel at home during their visit. PERSONAL CONTACT
REALLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE, ESPECIALLY WHEN PEOPLE
HAVE A LOT OF CHOICES MAKE CHOICES REGARDING THEIR
BUSY LIFE STYLE!!!!! Making a personal visit and/or phone calls
really make a difference
Until next time, happy trails…

Wow! Another great International Rally. This was our third
International Rally and every year we have learned so much more
and have met some great people who we now call friends! From
parking, registration, meals, seminars, vendors, etc. --- everything
was top-notch. Kudos to Newmar for another successful rally. Of course behind every successful rally, are many volunteers. Thanks to all of you too!

It was graduation time in Minnesota. Our second Grandchild
graduated. He is heading to North Dakota State University this
fall. He will enroll in the School of Pharmacy. Our first to graduate
starts her senior year at the University of Minnesota. She is a
homebody. My how the time flies.
We had a wonderful Rally in St. Cloud. Little Falls proved to be a
great side trip. The highlight for me was “The Creamery” where
we had a wonderful lunch and visited their adjacent Quilting shop.
Pete’s highlight was the Fishing Museum and everyone enjoyed
the Munzer Museum.
As I write this, we are getting ready to leave for the Hickory Hills
Campground in Albert Lea. Our hosts are Joyce & Ray Korsten,
who have an exciting outing planned for us.
In August we are trying something new. We are going
fishing. We will be staying at the Federal Dam Core of Engineers
Campground and fishing the Leach River and Leach Lake. If
you find yourself traveling through Minnesota, join the fun for a
couple of days or for the whole rally (August 15-20). Call us
and we will make arrangements for you.
If you wish you can follow us on to the Region 4 Rally in Iowa

NORTH DAKOTA/SOUTH DAKOTA
We had a successful North Dakota/South Dakota State Rally and
Rushmore Roamers Chapter Rally, June 15-18, at Dead Colt Creek
located near Lisbon, North Dakota.
We returned home for a short time and then started our trip to
the Newmar Kountry Klub Rally, in Lewisburg, West Virginia July
20-25. We were volunteers at the Rally along with our excellent
co-volunteers, Joe & Sharon Morrison, Howard & Liz Randol, and
George & Theresa Korycan. It was another very successful rally
hosted by our very talented International Directors, Bob & Bonnie
Krieger, and the Regional Directors.
Congratulations to the New International Members-at-Large,
they were elected by a secret ballot at the Kountry Klub Business
Meeting held during the International Rally. We wish them the
best.
It won’t be long and we will make our trip to the Region 4
Rally, August 23-28, at the Timberline Campground, Waukee,
IA. Everett & Julie provided us with a list of all the activities, it
looks like a lot of fun. Thank you Everett & Julie.

It was a great International Rally a great time at another new
location. We want to thank everyone for their outstanding efforts
in planning and putting on these rallies for the membership.
We would like to thank our rally host for the June rally. It was
hosted by Charlie & Dee Bates (17309) and Bob & Pat Torney
(18541). This was a new location for us and everyone had a
great time. The steam engine tour was very interesting along
with the winery tour. We had a great meal at the restored hotel
in downtown Algoma. As always we had plenty of great food.
Thanks again for a great rally!
We hope everyone has a great time at the Region 4 rally this
month. There are many tours set up for your pleasure and learning.
We are sure that Everett & Julie Israel, Region 4 Directors, have
put together another great rally.
Please see our listing in this issue for our Wisconsin State
Rally being held at Fountain Lake RV Park at Almond,
Wisconsin. Please note that the reservation deadline is
August 15 and to contact us regarding your reservation.
Please review our rally information in the NKK Internet calendar
and also in the Wisconsin Web Page under State Rally. This rally
is being called our Anniversary Rally as we have three member
couples celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2015. So come and
join us for this special time.
At the State Rally we will be holding the election of Officers
for the Wisconsin Northern Aires. This year’s election is for
the positions of Treasurer and Vice President. It’s time for the
membership to step up to the plate and show your interest in the
chapter. The members that have held these positions for years
are looking for some help. Some of the officers have expressed
an interest in giving up their position and want other members to
take over to help strengthen the Northern Aires. After 8 to 10
years we are “running out of steam to keep the engine running”
and need some new blood.

REGION 5 // AL, FL, GA, MS, NC, SC, TN, VA
Region Directors :: Jim & Annabell Repp (14869)
HELLO from your new Region
5 Directors! We are excited to
have been selected to serve
you. With the help from all the
fine folks in the region, we will
work diligently to continue
the legacy of great leadership
that has been set by all of our
predecessors. Thank you for
your confidence.
First may we introduce
ourselves, we are Jim & Annabell Repp, immediate past MidSouth Tri-State Directors (GA-AL-MS). We are former Georgia
State Directors and former Peach State Kracker Chapter
Presidents. Our home is in Buford, Georgia. We have a large family
with 9 children, 24 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
While NKK members since 2003, our active involvement started
in 2006. Since then we have attended, and volunteered, in all of
the last 10 International Rallies. We have hosted well over a dozen
chapter, state, and special rallies. We are avid game players,
hosting the Card Bingo Game at the last 3 International Rallies.
Oh, did we mention that over the years, Jim has been known as
“The Ice Cream Man”, amongst other things.
We look forward to meeting each of you at future rallies. We plan
on attending as many of the Region 5 Chapter and State rallies
as possible. Please let us know if there is anything we can do, to
make your RVing more enjoyable. I can attest to one thing that
will definitely help, that is volunteering. There is no better feeling
than knowing that you helped make a rally, meeting, or whatever
more enjoyable for your friends. I urge you to try it, you’ll be glad
you did!
Timing is everything, and unfortunately this article was written
before the 30th NKK International Rally. By the time you read this,
it will be history. With what we know now, and with Bob & Bonnie
at the helm, there is no question that it will go down as one of,
if not the very best International Rallies ever! They, along with
your team of Region Directors, and tons of volunteers worked
hard to make it happen. Thanks to all of you that volunteered,
no matter how much. It’s you that make this wonderful Klub
thrive. Keep up the good work.
We have a fantastic Region 5 Rally, “Georgia Mountain
Festivals”, planned for your enjoyment. Join us October 12-17
at River Vista Mountain Village in Dillard, Georgia. October in the
northeast Georgia Mountains is spectacular. We have planned a
fun filled rally with great food, Octoberfest celebration in Helen,
good food, Georgia Mountain Fall Festival in Hiawassee, fine food,
Ricky Skaggs concert, more food, games, breakfast buffet at the
famous Dillard House Restaurant, food again, theatre production
of ‘A Sting in the Tail”, and much more. By the way, did I mention
we really eat well at our rallies? And of course, we will have ice
cream. And you thought we forgot. Registration closes September
1st, so do it now. You don’t want to miss this rally.
Please see the Calendar of Events on the NKK website for all the
rallies in the region.
AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2015

through Chapter Presidents and State Directors, we are always
available to answer questions, give direction, or whatever to all
NKK members. You can contact us at 706-244-4068 or jrepp@

The tag line we use in our signature for our correspondence is
Making Memories the Kountry Klub Way. Since this is being
written in late May for August publication I decided I would tell
you about the memories that we hope to have made by the time
you read this. We will have been to Campbellsville, Kentucky
to help our dear friend, Mary, celebrate her birthday. We won’t
reveal which one as we want to stay dear friends. We will then be
meeting some of the Florida Sea Turtles at Pipestone Resort State
Park in West Virginia prior to the International Rally at Lewisburg.
After the International Rally we will Join the Peach State Krackers
for their after rally caravan. After that it will have been a trip west
to the Fort Robinson State Park in the Nebraska panhandle for a
family reunion. Finally about the time you read this we will be at
Hazen Bay Campground on the south shore of Lake Sakakawea in
North Dakota renewing old friendships and reliving old memories
from our eight years of being a camp host there.
Many of our Florida NKK members will also be making
memories, some will be on the American Heritage Caravan, the
Newfoundland/ Maritimes Caravan as well as other chapter and
state rallies.
Upcoming opportunities for making memories will be the
Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta October 2-7, the Branson
Christmas Show November 2-8, the Region 5 Rally at Dillard,
Georgia October 12-17 and the Rally in the Keys December
7-13. The Emerald Koast Sandpipers are planning an
October rally. The Florida Manatees will have their coming
home November 2-7 at the Brickyard Plantation in Americus,
Georgia. The Florida Pelicans will have their welcome back rally
at Sun and Fun in Sarasota November 2-7. The Florida Sea
Turtles will be at Neapolitan Cove in Naples from November
11-14 for their coming home rally. Information about these and
any other rallies can easily be found on the Klub web site www.
newmarkountryklub.com.
We want to thank Wally & Sharon Sisk for the many memories
that we have made with them during their time as Region
5 Directors. We also look forward to many memories to be
made with Jim & Annabell Repp as we go forward with them
as the new Region 5 Directors.

Although summer hasn’t officially begun, the hot days in Florida
say otherwise. We are looking forward to the time we head north
and cooler temperatures. The International Rally in West Virginia
promises to be an exciting one. So many activities have been
planned with lots of attendees signed up. It will be history by the
time this issue of the Konnection is issued.

Our first fall rally is planned for November 2-5 (with extra
days for whomever wishes) at The Brickyard Plantation in
Americus, Georgia. The RV park includes a 27-hole golf course
for golfers! Anyone wishing to attend will need to sign up on the
NKK website under Florida (or Georgia if not found under Florida).
The Campground fee is $25 per night with a rally fee of $50. The
telephone number for The Brickyard Plantation is 229-874-1234.
Americus is located about 30 miles west of I-75 and should be
“on the way home” for some Floridians.
Congratulations to our new Regional Directors, Jim &
Annabell Repp. No doubt they will do a wonderful job.
As always, register for rallies at www.newmarkountryklub.com.
And remember, the important things in life aren’t things. Come
join in the fun and fellowship,

FLORIDA PELICANS
The Newmar Florida Pelicans have left the comfort of their south
west Florida nest and flown all over the country, from Alaska to
Maine and in between. Lots of our members have roots in the
cooler northern states as well as Florida. We all look forward
to travel during the summer and to enjoy the company when
possible, of members of the NKK local chapters. The joy and
beauty of having coaches is that it allows us to travel the country.
After a summer of fun, we are looking forward to returning
to Florida in November. Our annual Welcome Back Rally is
on November 8-14 in Sarasota at the Great Sun and Fun
Campground. We welcome all Newmar Kountry Klub owners
to join us at this fun filled and active event. Should you be in
the area and would like to join the activities, please feel free to
contact me via email at [email protected] to make arrangements.
We are looking forward to seeing our current members, potential
new members and other Newmar friends at the Welcome Back
Rally, other planned rallies, special events and monthly luncheons.
Please see the NKK “Calendar of Events” for dates and locations.
We wish all of you a wonderful summer. Safe travels.

FLORIDA SEA TURTLES
Since my last report we have attended two rallies and many of
our members are readying for the Newmar International Rally in
West Virginia in July.
In March 19-22 we had a Sea Turtle Rally at the Upriver RV Resort
in Ft. Myers, hosted by Brian & Nancy Howard and Ed & Barbara
Nightingale. This was one very interesting rally in that we toured
the Echo Global Farms which is developing agricultural methods
for various depressed worldwide locations. We also visited the
Thomas Edison and the Henry Ford Winter Estates tour along
the river in Ft Myers. The new North Trail RV center which we
toured was amazing. We took away lots of good memories – all
the shared “Don’t Miss” RV parks and attractions and Barbara’s
compilation, Kent’s fascinating presentation on his stained glass
hobby, Dick & Joan’s breathtaking video on base jumping, Nancy
& Kenny’s hilarious auctioneering and our bids that raised $85.00
to donate to Echo Global Farm – and loads of great conversations. On April 15-19 we attended the Florida State Rally at Grand
Oaks RV Resort in Lady Lake, hosted by Kent & Nancy Miller and
co-hosts Brian & Nancy Howard. Two country music sessions,
Page 28
including Moe Bandy, were greatly enjoyed. A tour of the Gypsy
Gold horse farm was a highlight with the most interesting horses
(Gypsy Vanner) I have ever seen. Also the International Harvester
Tractor Museum was fascinating. We played competitive
games and enjoyed visiting with our fellow NKK members from
throughout the state.
Before the International rally, six Sea Turtle coaches gathered
at Pipestem Park where together we made our table decoration
and prepared for the short drive to Lewisburg. Ten Sea Turtle
coaches attended the International rally and several of us came
early for the Freightliner class. Some of us signed up for NKK
post caravan tours to Washington DC or to Newfoundland. Others
continued on our planned trips to new and interesting places in
the beautiful USA and Canada. We can’t wait for their reports at
the next Sea Turtle rally.
Good news, Jim & Annabell Repp have announced that we will
have a Region 5 Rally in the North Georgia Mountains, October
12-17. The rally will take place at the River Vista RV Resort in
Dillard Georgia, about 2 miles from the North Carolina border.
I forwarded the detailed information to all Sea Turtles on May 21.
Register on the NKK web page.
Rich & Eileen Schlieper and Nancy & Kenny Griffin will host the
November 11-14 rally in Naples at the Neapolitan RV Resort.
This looks like a very interesting event considering the activities
they are planning to include a sightseeing cruise and a city trolley
tour.
We end the 2015 year with the Newmar Special Event-Florida
Keys Rally, December 7-13. In lieu of a Sea Turtle rally we
have deferred to this rally for our December event. We are
anticipating a great time participating in all the planned activities
and in visiting Key West.
2016 begins with the NKK special event Tampa Super Show
in January 13-17. I expect that many Sea Turtles will attend.
There should be a great turnout, if the 2015 rally is any indication.
We can plan on a very busy rally and look forward to renewing
friendships with Newmar owners from other states who regularly
attend this event.
Our first Sea Turtle rally of 2016 will find us in Bushnell
at Paradise Oaks RV Park February 21-24, a Sunday to
Wednesday rally. Hosts Brian & Nancy Howard are planning a
pontoon boat ride exploring the lakes of north central Florida and
a lot of other fun activities!
Hosts Ted & Dee Kermode are firming up our March
2016 rally as they check out various sites this summer.
On April 13-17, we will join State Directors Kent & Nancy Miller
at the Florida State Rally at the Wekiva Falls RV Resort at
Sorrento, Florida
We invite any NKK or Newmar owners to consider attending any
of our functions. Just check the NKK web site for the “Calendar
of Events” and come see what we are all about.
Sea Turtles are traveling all over the United States this summer,
and we look forward to sharing lots of stories when we get
together again. Join us if you can!
Blue skies and safe travels…

GEORGIA PEACH STATE KRACKERS
It is the end of May and because of the International Rally articles
for the August Konnection must be submitted early.
to get there while there are still some sweet cherries left to eat.
We will be heading back south to attend the Region 5 Rally in
early October.
I could almost tell each of you about how great the International
was even though it has not happened. I will wait on the next
issue to do that.
We want to thank Jim & Annabell Repp for stepping forward
and taking the Region 5 Directors position. They are a great
couple and we have had the opportunity to work with them many
times. They have worked hard promoting the Klub. They have
hosted many rallies, run caravans, were State Directors and the
Mid-South Tri-State Directors. They will do a great job as Region
5 Directors.
Congratulations are in order for our newly appointed Region 5
Directors. No strangers to us, Jim & Annabell, will do a great
job in this position. I know each of you was saddened by the
loss of Wally & Sharon Sisk in this position. They were doing
an exceptional job. We wish them well and pray that Sharon’s
health will improve and they will be able to return to RV travel that
they enjoy so much. You will be missed.
Our summer rally hosted by Dr. Phil & Julia Newton, along with
Jim & Pat Johnson in Adairsville, Georgia is sure to be one you
do not want to miss. There are so many things to see and do in
that area. Contact Jim Johnson at [email protected]

Don’t forget about Region 5 Rally, October 12-17, in North
Georgia. Details are included in this issue.
See you down the road.

NORTH CAROLINA TARHEELS
We had a great time at the 30th International Newmar Rally held at
the West Virginia State Fairgrounds in Lewisburg from July 20-25.
We went in as “early birds” giving us a little more time to see our
old friends as well as to meet some new ones. After the rally we
joined the Newmar American Heritage Caravan for two weeks of
fun, fellowship, and adventure. We saw a lot of new places and
enjoyed meeting our fellow travelers.
We welcome our recently appointed Region 5 Directors – Jim
& Annabell Repp. They have been working hard on our upcoming
Region 5 Rally to be co-hosted by Jim & Barb Watson. Sign up
now. It will be held October 12-17 at the River Vista RV Resort
in Dillard, Georgia. We have been there twice and look forward
to returning. There are a lot of things to see and do close by.
Our Christmas joint rally with the South Carolina Palmetto
Pals will be held in Myrtle Beach at Ocean Lakes Campground
from December 8-12. Visitors and snowbirds are welcomed.
HAPPY RVING!

As we write this we will be getting ready to head to Michigan to
stay at Peggy’s mother’s “yard campground” for a month before
we head to the International Rally in West Virginia. When you
read this, the rally is over and we had a great time. Again it was
fun to meet old friends and hopefully we were able to meet all the
new South Carolina members. It was good that Bob & Bonnie
Krieger put out a preliminary rally attendees list. It helped us set
up a list of people to look for at the rally.
After the rally Lyle & Jean Myers and we will head north to our
sites at Traverse Bay Resort in Traverse City, Michigan. We hope

you already know our new Region 5 Directors are in full swing.
We are excited to be working with Jim & Annabell Repp and did
they ever hit the ground running.
The 30th Newmar International Rally is behind us and we are
looking forward to finish up our rally season. Tennessee
Volunteer Kruisers have a rally September 14-19 at Ragland
Bottom, Center Hill Lake, Sparta, Tennessee, followed by Jim
& Annabell Repp’s Region 5 Rally in Dillard, Georgia October

RV Park. More importantly Jim & Annabell have put together an
outstanding schedule of events, great tours, great entertainment,
great food, AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE! You can get all
the information on the Newmar Kountry Klub webpage under
‘Calendar of Events”. Get registered now. If you have never been
to one of Jim & Annabell’s rallies come to the evening games,

The Region 5 Rally will be followed by our rally in the Valley in

We want to thank International Directors, Bob & Bonnie
Krieger, for their awesome 30 th International Rally at
Lewisburg, West Virginia, now on to Pueblo, Colorado next
year. To have such a great rally it takes a “Team”. Linda Feece, the
Region Directors, and all of you who stepped up and volunteered
for the many, many jobs and responsibilities. Thank you is simple,
but is a powerful phrase. THANK YOU!

VIRGINIA
Nine Virginia Wheels Newmar coaches had an enjoyable get
together at the 2015 Virginia State Rally in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Betty & I were hosts, with Bob & Cathy Marks as co-hosts. We
were happy to have Dwayne Kittle with us as he had been under
the weather since returning from Florida with some serious health
issues. We were pleased to welcome Dan & Leah Woodley as new
members and first time attendees. Everyone at the rally planned
to attend the International Rally in Lewisburg, West Virginia, along
with six additional coaches from Virginia. Hope we can get some
additional Virginia Wheels members from that group. The food,
fellowship, and activities were great as usual!
REGION 5
RALLY
By the time you get this issue the International will be history. I
hope everyone took part in all the available activities, seminars,
and tours. Bob & Bonnie sure planned an outstanding event. The
new location was great! Lewisburg is an interesting place with
lots to see and do.
The next Virginia Wheels event will be “The Fall Rally at the
Beach” hosted by Charlie & Dean Grebinger at the Holiday
Travel Park in Virginia Beach. I hope to see as many coaches
there as possible. THE MORE THE MERRIER!!! Charlie & Dean
have put a lot of work into this rally, let’s support them. Also at
this rally we will be electing new Virginia Wheels officers for the
next two years. Be there and participate!! Until next time we wish
you good health and safe travels!!

Those words by our former President ring true today as we review
the past few months and the future of the Kountry Klub. As you
read this, the Newmar International Rally will be history and boy,
can we say that our International Directors, Bob & Bonnie Krieger
(and Linda Feece!) made things happen! What a great schedule
of events they planned for that rally.
Likewise, our Region 5 Directors, Jim & Annabell Repp, have a
fantastic rally planned for the Region 5 Rally in Dillard, Georgia
beginning October 12-17.
And, we recently concluded our Virginia State Rally in
Fredericksburg, Virginia this past May. Again, John & Betty Warhol
made things happen! It was a fun time with the usual good food,
fine fellowship, and great events.
This leads up to our up-coming election of officers in the
Virginia Wheels Chapter and the need for people to step-up
and make things happen. Any organization is only as effective
as the leadership involved—they are the ones who make things
happen with the help and cooperation of the membership. We
see that in the leadership of the Kountry Klub and the members/
volunteers who support them.
So, when your chapter calls on you to be a leader, step-up and
make things happen!

REGION 6 // IN, KY, MI, OH, WV
Region Directors :: Ron & Wanda Llewellyn (16303-L)
Let us be grateful to people
who make us happy, they
are the charming gardeners
who make our souls
blossom. Marcel Proust
To be honest, there are times
when our duties as Region
Directors cause challenges
and frustrations. But by the
time we arrive at a rally,
whether it is a Chapter,
State, Region or International Rally, our souls bloom with the
many friends who make up the Newmar Kountry Klub family.
Needless to say, we have been quite busy finalizing plans for
the International Rally in Lewisburg, West Virginia, the Region 6
Rally in Wapakoneta, Ohio in September and the Super Rally in
the Keys in December.
With a successful 2015 International Rally behind us, we are busy
planning for the 2016 International Rally in Pueblo, Colorado.
The success of the International Rally was dependent upon the
many volunteers who stepped forward to help make it a time
to remember. This year we had 74 volunteers for the parking
and registration teams. The challenge was parking units on
different sides of a state highway, requiring full crews for each
side, and having parking beginning a day early to accommodate
the much appreciated Freightliner classes. Thank you does not
seem enough for all the hard work, but it is what we have to
offer. Thank you, thank you thank you to all our parking and
registration volunteers!
We would be remiss if we did not also thank the other
volunteers who helped throughout the International Rally. We
join our fellow Region Directors in recognizing all the time and
effort each of you put in to make our International Rally a time
to remember and a time to look forward to in the future. Thank
you, thank you thank you to ALL the volunteers!
There are gardeners who are constantly tilling the fertile soil
of the Newmar Kountry Klub. Our International Directors,
Bob & Bonnie Krieger, spend many hours preparing the soil,
planting the seeds, and harvesting the crop that keep the Klub
going. We hope you will all join us in offering them a hearty
THANK YOU! And they will be the first to tell you they couldn’t
do it without Linda Feece in the office. Most of you have no idea
how much time and effort she puts into her job. Thank you Linda!
Some other gardeners who cause the soul to bloom are all
the Region Directors. We are sure they share our challenges and
frustrations, but they put forth their gardening efforts that result in
a great harvest for their regions. Thank you Region Directors!
In early June we had the opportunity to visit with Tim Fenneman,
General Manager of RCD RV Supercenter in Hebron/Heath, Ohio
one of the newest Newmar dealers. RCD has two other locations,
Page 31
Since we are on the topic of thanks, we want to thank Indiana
State Directors Alice & Bill O’Brien for a very enjoyable Indiana
State Rally in Berne, Indiana. This was our only rally in June
and you made it SPECIAL! And those wonderful Hoosiers make
our souls bloom!
The deadline is near for the Region 6 Rally in Wapakoneta,
Ohio. Last minute attendees should give us a call to see if
we can accommodate you. And remember, members from
other regions can join us, too. If you plan to be in the area in
September, give us a call.
Although this was written prior to the International Rally and
the Member-at-Large election, we want to thank all those
who supported us in our bid for the position. Who knows what
garden we will find ourselves in tomorrow, but wherever, it will be
full of friendly, soul-filling blossoms!
October will find us joining our Ohio members at the Ohio
State Rally in Gallipolis, Ohio. Ohio State Directors, Phyllis
& Jerry Rose, have planned a fun-filled rally including the Bob
Evans Festival in Rio Grande. Fall is always an enjoyable time to
camp with friends. And yes, they make your soul bloom in the
fall! Don’t delay, register today!
To all our CHARMING gardeners (members) who make our
souls bloom, thank you for being a part of our lives and
sharing your many talents!
As always, we can be reached at [email protected], Ron
at (740)707-7107 or Wanda at (740)707-2063.

Have you attended and enjoyed a rally this summer? If so, let
someone know. Tell your chapter officers, your state director,
your region director or drop a line to the office. Did you take
pictures? Send them to GoNewmar; share the most memorable
journeys, favorite parks and must-see places. Be sure to provide
a brief description. We want everyone to know about the fun
we’re having.
If you haven’t enjoyed a rally this summer, it isn’t too late. Past
chapter president, Bob Combs, will host a rally in August from
August 20-23 at Mississinewa Lake where he is acting as a
campground host this summer. Bob is in site 170 and your State
Directors will be in site 171. This is an Indiana State Park and
reservations must be made through Reserve America on line
at www.reserveamerica.com Please make your reservations
as soon as possible before the campground fills up. These are
30 amp sites. You will need to come in with full water tanks and
empty holding tanks. A dump station is available. You should
make your reservations on sites 172 – 179 or sites 160 – 166.
If you want full hookups you will be parked further from the group
but they are available. There are only a few 50 amp sites and they
are on a different loop. The rally fee is $25.00 per RV (not per
person) and can be paid at the rally mailed to Alice O’Brien at
26 Point Lane, Arcadia, IN 46030. Bob does not get mail at the
campground. Alice will get the rally fees to Bob. Reservations

newsletter and the Newmar Kountry Klub website for more
information.
We continue to pray for our fellow Bluegrass Kountry Roamers
who are experiencing health issues and wish them all a speedy
return to good health.
The Region 6 Rally will take place in September. Read more
about it in the article by our Region 6 Directors, Wanda & Ron
Llewellyn, in this issue of the Konnection. There is also an ad
for the rally. Reservations for all rallies need to be made on the
Kountry Klub web site: www.newmarkountryklub.com.
We are always looking for rally hosts and members willing to
serve as officers of the Bluegrass Kountry Roamers chapter.
Please contact us if you have an interest – volunteering is what
keeps our Klub active and viable.
Hopefully you attended the Indiana State Rally and had a great
time. We camped at Amishville campground in Geneva, Indiana,
near Berne, Indiana, a town with an Amish and Swiss heritage.
We toured Limberlost State Historic Site, the home of novelist,
Gene Stratton Porter and the Swiss Heritage Village and Museum
as well as several other interesting manufacturing and ended the
rally with a concert by “Sweet Beats” at the town clock tower park.
Again this year we joined the Illinois Kountry Kuzzins at a joint
rally. This year the rally was held in Whittington, Illinois, a town
with a very interesting history including the first visit to America
of a Beatle. George Harrison visited Whittington, where his sister
lived, a year before the Beatles invaded the United States and
appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show. A big thank you should go to
Julie & Everett Israel who hosted the rally. The Hoosier Kountry
Klub are planning to host a joint rally with the Illinois Kountry
Kuzzins in May, 2016. Anyone who wants to help with the rally
should contact Bill & Alice O’Brien (9281L) at 317-984-4779 or
[email protected].
We will conclude our 2015 camping season with a luncheon
in October. Watch the Konnection “Calendar of Events” and the
Hoosier Kountry Klub newsletters for more information about the
August rally and the October luncheon.
Hope to see you at one of the upcoming rallies.
Stay safe in your travels.

It’s hard to believe that it is already August and that fall weather
is just ahead. We wonder where the time goes – all we know is
that it goes by way too quickly.
We were pleased to hear that another successful International
Rally was held by the Newmar Kountry Klub. We had to miss this
one because we are on a summer long journey to the Canadian
Maritimes and New England states, visiting many friends along the
way. We trust that all who attended enjoyed the fun and fellowship
at the International as well as the beauty of our neighboring state
West Virginia.
We were saddened by the passing of Hank Willman in May. We
extend our sincere condolences to June and the entire Willman
family. He will be missed.
Plans have been finalized for the Kentucky State Rally
October 8-11 in Lexington, Kentucky. We will be staying at the
Whispering Hills RV Park in Georgetown with planned activities
including a welcome dinner, guided tours of the Thoroughbred
Center, Aviation Museum of Kentucky, and the Mary Todd Lincoln
House. Signup sheets and disclaimer forms are located elsewhere
in this issue of the Konnection Magazine as well as on-line at the
Kountry Klub web site.

American Tradition According to my friend...”they say Memorial
Day is the start of the summer camping season”. Hopefully the
weather is warm and in our favor, but rain or shine, we have
a great time together. By the time you read this our summer
camping season may be half over. All though some of us camp
all four seasons. I can’t think of anybody that doesn’t love to go
camping. Camping to me just seems an American Tradition; a
chance to explore and leave your troubles behind. You need to let
your guard down and have no worries or problems to solve. Give
the space above your shoulders some rest. Camp fires, chatting
with friends, maybe a little exaggerating here or there to make it
entertaining. Laughing at your neighbors and yourself. But if they
need some help you’ll be right there. I love camping; it’s a stress
reliever for me. Well, what are you waiting for? Let’s go camping.”
This was written by one of our favorite “campers”. He wants
everyone to know what an opportunity it is to meet people who
have some of the same interests as you; to share trials and
triumphs and destination ideas. Like he said..."Well, what are
you waiting for?“

OHIO
Hello to all our Ohio and other Newmar friends. This is a hard
article to write as it has to be submitted the first week of June
due to office shut down for International Rally. Therefore we will
make this one very short.
At the time of writing this article we know that the June Buckeye
rally will be very small. Many of our members have other family
or business commitments this month. I’m sure those that were
able to make it had a great time.
In the June issue of the Konnection we mentioned that we still
needed a host for August. Soon after that article was submitted
Steve & Donna White (20147) volunteered. Thank you for
supporting your Klub by volunteering to host. As mentioned before
everyone will be willing to chip in and help.
We have a request. If you have pictures of some of the past rallies
that you think are a pretty good picture (does not need to be a
posed picture) would you please email them to me. We have never
been big on taking pictures so therefore don’t have any and they
are asking for pictures for the website and Konnection. I plan to
start taking pictures (if I can remember) so I have something to

submit. One word of advice. Don’t walk in front of Flash Miller
(9855) when he has a camera. He loves to get those shots from
behind.

Region Directors :: Bob and Jane Hadley (16789)
As of right now Barbara & I will be stepping down as the New
Jersey State Directors September 30, 2015 and our replacements
will take over the position as of October 1, 2015. By now Bob
& Jane Hadley have made the announcement as to the names
of the New State Directors. I can tell you this, they have been
active in the Garden Aires for some time.
Greeting
from
Region
7. Rally season for our
region is here. We just
attended the Pennsylvania
Allegheny Kountry Kampers
spring rally at Yogi Bear’s
Jellystone RV Resort in
Mill Run, Pennsylvania. It
was a good time to visit
with both “seasoned” and
new members. We had the
opportunity while at the
rally to drive over to the Flight 93 National Memorial. While the
Memorial is not fully completed there were many visitors paying
tribute to a brave group of souls who died for their country.
Barbara & I at this time say THANK YOU to all the Newmar
Kountry Klub Family members who have helped us over the
years. We could name who you are but it would make this article
just too long.
The Pennsylvania Allegheny Kountry Kampers is an active
chapter and we encourage any Newmar Kountry Klub member
from Pennsylvania or from anywhere in the US and Canada to
attend one of their rallies, join and get involved. They have a
fall rally coming up in September in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
Think about attending. Check out the COE in the Konnection
Magazine or the Newmar Kountry Klub web site and register.
We’re sure you will be glad you did.
NEW YORK LAKERS
Greetings from the Empire State. By now the rally in Cooperstown,
New York during the end of June will be long past. Thanks to all
that attended, hope you had fun.
This article is being written early due to a timing schedule with
the International Rally. So as this article is going to press we
will have already attended rallies in Connecticut, Massachusetts
and New York all before heading out in late June/early July to
the International Rally in Lewisburg, West Virginia. We are so
looking forward to the 30th International Rally. After the rally
we’ll head home to Rhode Island but not before spending a few
weeks on Cape Cod, Massachusetts with the family.
The Region 7 Rally will be in New Jersey on beautiful Cape
May. Deadline to register is August 25. See the rally ad in this
issue/COE for information and as always give us a call if you
have any questions.

NEW JERSEY
Hello from New Jersey. As we are sitting here writing this article
(May 29) the 2015 summer is slipping away. Hopefully we have
been able to attend the Southern New England Tri State Rally in
June and made it to the International in Lewisburg, West Virginia.
Page 35
We also have to THANK Newmar current and past International
Directors, current and past Regional Directors, International
Members at Large and the surrounding State Directors and
Chapter Officers from the area. Last, but in our opinion, the Klub’s
most important person, Linda Feece, our Klub Coordinator.
As Roy Rogers & Dale Evan sang at the end of each of their
shows “Happy Trails To You, Until we Meet Again”.

This year we had fewer Lakers members attending the
International Rally than we usually have. As always we had
several members that volunteered their time to help out with
some of the many jobs that need to be done to keep the rally
running smoothly. I would like to personally thank all those that
helped. I hope all those that attended had safe trips to and home
from the rally.
Bob & Bonnie Schruise are hosting a rally October 2-4 at the
Genesee Country Campground. Our annual Christmas Brunch
will be held on that Sunday at Terry Hills Golf Course. More
information will be coming soon.
As always if you have any questions you can e-mail me at
[email protected].

SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND STATES
Hello again from New England! We just got home from our TriState rally. After a bad start, with someone crashing into the
back of our car in tow, while we were traveling at 65 mph. We
are fine, but the tow bar, brackets and hitch didn’t fare so well.
Our rally was held at the Charlie Brown Campground in Eastford,
Connecticut. It is a wonderful place for a rally. They have
great pavilions with an indoor fire ring and sites that surround
the outside. A lot was accomplished over our long weekend,
the Thanksgiving in June was a huge success. Our Saturday
breakfast of ham, egg & cheese sandwiches were a hit. The
potluck dinner was great as we have many wonderful cooks.
AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2015
Then on to our chapter meetings. The proposal was made to
make all of New England back into one chapter. This would
bring us back to being the New England Aires. Officers were
selected to hold interim positions upon approval of this plan by
the Newmar Klub Board of Directors at their annual meeting.
Our next official outing will be to the Region 7 Rally being held
in Cape May, New Jersey. Another rally is in the works for a
possible date in October. We hope to see many of you in our
travels.

CONNECTICUT NUTMEGGER’S
The Connecticut Nutmegger’s held their first rally of the season
at Charlie Brown Campground in Eastford, Connecticut June 4 7. This rally was held in conjunction with the Tri-State Rally and
the Pilgrim Aires Rally. There were ten rigs present including
guests, Ernie & Joan Griswold from New York.
It was a great rally. Thank you George & Cathy Keith for all
the hard work you did to make this rally a complete success
- from the Thanksgiving Dinner (leftover turkey anyone??) to
the Saturday morning breakfast sandwiches to all the myriad of
details so ably handled.
At our meeting a discussion was held about merging the New
England chapters. It was decided to merge the Southern New
England chapters together. Since there are so few members in
the chapters now and many are members of both chapters and
we have been doing joint rallies for the past few years it seemed
to make sense. There was a quorum present for both chapters
and it was voted to merge, pending approval of the Kountry
Klub office. It was decided that the officers from both chapters
would get together and come up with a plan, to be voted on by
the membership from both groups. At the officers meeting it
was decided to name the combined Klub - The New England
Aires (going back to the original name before the chapters were
divided several years ago.) Members who were not there were
telephoned and all but two were reached to ask if they had
any objections to the change or wanted to offer any input. All
contacted agreed and at a 2nd meeting it was voted to adopt
the New England Aires name and accept a new slate of interim
officers pending office approval. The interim officers are Brad
& Barbara Wright, President; Russell Merwin, Vice-President;
Nancy Rinaudo, Secretary and Joanne Merwin, Treasurer. These
changes will tentatively go into effect October, 2015.
Region 7 Directors, Bob & Jane Hadley, were in attendance and
spoke about the upcoming International Rally in Lewisburg, West
Virginia in July. Seven of the ten in attendance are planning to
be at the International Rally.
Bob also spoke about the Region 7 Rally to be held in Cape
May, New Jersey in September.

REGION 9 // AB, BC, MB, NT, SK, YT
Region Directors :: Dave & Joanne Killey (16152-L)
I saw a sign the other day
that said….“When you start
with fun it can last a lifetime”.
I am not sure who the author
is, but I am sure he was
a wise person: would you
agree? One just has to attend
a Newmar rally and sit back
and listen to the chatter of
friends reminiscing about
past rallies and their fun
times. That is what keeps them coming back, the fun times had
with great people. Some of these friendships span decades
and most of them never end. A half century ago one man in
British Columbia planted some seeds of friendship of his own. A
company was born which has grown to be the largest Newmar
dealer in Western Canada. There are so many friends George has
made along the way. Very happy friends who get their retirement
dreams fulfilled of buying an RV and enjoying the open roads. The
friends made over the past 50 years will certainly last a lifetime. We
join with fellow Newmar Kountry Klub members in congratulating
George and his son Kelvin on their golden anniversary. We wish
them all the best for continued success and good health in the
years ahead.
There is a celebratory rally being hosted by the B.C. Provincial
Directors this September. Information about this can be found on
the Klub web site under calendar of events. Let’s take a look at
what was happening a half century ago: The Rolling Stones were
on a worldwide tour; Canada adopted their first official Canadian
Flag; The Pillsbury Doughboy Popping Fresh was born; Cool Whip
was introduced by General Foods; Gas was 31 cents a gallon;
Bread was 21 cents and Shania Twain was born.
A new “Members Benefit” program has been introduced for
Region 9 members which spans to ALL Newmar Kountry Klub
members. By now you will all have seen the news release in our
Region 9 newsletter or on the Region 9 Facebook Page. This is
a growing list of business who wish to support our members by
offering some form of discount or incentive to do business with
them. Keep an eye out for this as it expands in the future.
Long time members Bill & Jerry Kruper (14058) have hosted many
rallies in their rein as B.C chapter and Provincial Directors. They
had a rule that the rally cost could not exceed $130. This was
very difficult to achieve a lot of the times. In fact it seems almost
impossible. Now they have retired from RV travel, the days of the
$130 rallies are long gone. That is until this year. The Penticton
rally fee is set at $125. This is great and due in a very large part
to the generosity of Midtown RV and we thank them for their
continued support.
The Kountry Klub Kup was unveiled and introduced to the
members at the Region 9 rally held in Acheson, Alberta. The
actual winner for this year’s trophy will not be decided on until
the Penticton rally. There were a total of nine RV’s who made the
Page 38
journey from B.C. to Alberta qualifying for the Kup. We will have
to wait and see how many make the trek from Alberta to B.C. for
the Penticton rally.
There are currently 107 members on our Region 9 Facebook page.
Join up today to see what your fellow Klub members are doing
and talking about. Some of the highlights of the chatter have been:
clarification on some issues about the Penticton rally, my personal
posting on prostate cancer fund raiser, welcome new members,
pictures at the Penticton RV show, Traveland lunch winner of the
Newmar collector’s plate, info request on Scottsdale AZ., RV’s
for sale locally and a host of others.
We hope everyone is having a great summer and we look forward
to meeting a lot of you at the Penticton Rally. We can be reached
at [email protected] 604-916-7767
We meet, we part, we hope to meet again.
ALBERTA
Wow! What a great summer! We will remember the Region 9/
Alberta Provincial/Wild Rose Klub Rally for quite a while. The
main attractions included ... meet and greet evening, pig roast,
and all the sights the city of Edmonton has to offer. Thanks to the BC Dogwood Klub for showing up at the rally in
Alberta in great numbers. The members of the BC Klub are always
lots of fun and filled with enthusiasm. Come on Alberta, let’s all
show up in Penticton in September and let those folks know what
Alberta is made of!! The challenge to earn the “coveted Kup” is
on the line. Let’s bring the kup home to Alberta!!
Congratulations to Midtown RV in Penticton, BC on 50 years
of being in business. George and staff at Midtown are well
known all over Western Canada for their dedication to customer
service and satisfaction. We send a BIG THANK YOU to Midtown
RV from all of us.

reservation.
b) For reservations cancelled 69 days to 30 days from the start of the event, you are
responsible for all non-refundable portions of the financial commitments paid out by
the Klub on your behalf for the event plus $25.00 per person cancellation fee.
c) If you cancel 29 days or less prior to the event, you will receive no refund until after
the event and receive only that portion the Kountry Klub can recover. The $25.00

this cancellation policy a necessity. We thank you for your understanding.

Cancellation Policy For Region,
State, Provincial Rallies
Due to the large number of late cancellations, the Kountry Klub
has experienced significant financial losses from non-refundable
commitments made during the planning stages.
A new Region, State/Provincial Rally “Cancellation Policy” is being
implemented.
1)An administrative fee of $10/person will be charged. This fee will cover
costs associated with processing your rally registration and will be
included in the rally fees as advertised.
2)Members who register for a rally and then:
a)For whatever reason, cancel a minimum of 35 days prior to the start
of the rally will receive a full refund, less the administrative fee of $10/
person.
b)Cancel 34 to 8 days prior to the start of a rally will be charged for any
non-refundable commitments made on your behalf in addition to the
$10/person fee.
c) Cancel 7 or less days prior to the start of a rally will receive No Refund
on any portion of the rally fee paid.
3)Members who register for a rally and do not advise the Hosts that they
will not be attending will receive no refund.
4)All refunds will be made at the conclusion of the rally.
PLEASE NOTE: Planning any rally requires long-term organization. Many service
providers require non-refundable financial commitments. Because these deposits
and financial commitments are often made well in advance of any rally, this policy
becomes a necessity.

THE MARK OF A BETTER DRIVING EXPERIENCE .
When you own a luxury motorcoach that displays this emblem,
you know you’re getting the premium RV driving experience.
At Freightliner Custom Chassis, we developed UltraSteer as the
first line of tag axles that are fully-integrated and precision-tuned
to react to turns and other maneuvers of the coach.
When used with FCCC’s ZF IFS front suspension and compared to a competitor’s
chassis (on a fixed tag), UltraSteer delivers up to 17% reduction in curb-to-curb
turning radius— the tightest turns in the industry. And, because the rear tires
follow the ideal 12º turning path, UltraSteer eliminates costly “tire scrub” wear.
REDUCTION
CURB-TO-CURB
RADIUS
UltraSteer is available with a straight beam axle suspension (B Series),
or with independent suspension (I Series). In both cases, you can
be proud to drive a luxury RV that shares a heritage of engineering
excellence with Mercedes-Benz and the entire Daimler Family.
Look for the UltraSteer emblem on your next premium coach.
