

Explain and describe why and how industrialization spread across the world.
Write in a clear, concise format.
Task:
You have been commissioned by Rand McNally as a cartographer to create a new chart for their
new World Atlas. They are asking for a map that captures the spread of the Industrial
Revolution, beginning in Britain. For each new location on your map include an important date
and an important person or group involved in the spread of the Revolution. Use your Chapter 9,
Section 3 to help you create your map.
In addition to the map, the company would like a paragraph caption along with the map to
explain and describe why and how the Industrial Revolution spread across the western world.
Your writing should be clear and to the point.
Criteria:





Identify and label important countries/cities, people and dates connected to the spread of
the Industrial Revolution.
Show the spread of the Revolution with arrows linking important places (Britain,
Continental Europe, USA).
Specifically and clearly explain and describe why and how the Industrial Revolution
