PYP Exhibition….The process begins
The IB PYP Exhibition
In the final year of the Primary Years Program (PYP), all IB students must participate
in a culminating process known as the Exhibition. This culminating activity allows students to apply all the knowledge and skills they have learned while being a part of an
IB school. This process revolves around the 5 essential elements and the students
engage in a student-driven, transdisciplinary unit of inquiry in which they inquire, research, and offer solutions (student action) to current, real-life problems.


Discussed the essential agreements for the Exhibition
Read and discussed the Student Journal
Identified the 6 components of their Presentation (Written, Oral, Creative
expression, Action, Use of technology, Academic honesty)
Discussed the characteristics of a good central idea (engaging, relevant,
challenging and significant)
Reflected on the process of framing a central idea using Scaffolding complex level thinking
Participated in voting for choosing the most appropriate logo for the PYP
Exhibition
Brainstormed the issue for the Exhibition
Inquiry in Language

Discussed the homework on concerned local issues and collated the same
with the topic for PYP Exhibition.

Prior knowledge assessment of Contractions

Further inquired into Contractions through a task



Brainstormed the elements of a character sketch

In continuation with the lessons on MS Excel, students explored and
practised the following:

Usage of sum and average functions

Creation of graphs and charts

Further, students created virtual price lists, applied different formulas
for different functions, and generated graphs and charts from that data

Students practiced:
 basic physical fitness and stretching exercises
 bowling and fielding during cricket classes
 playing a cricket match
 trotting during horse riding classes
They also practiced the following during Gymnastic classes:
 Forward roll, backward roll and straddle roll
 approach run and hurdle step onto trampoline
 walking on toes on Balancing Beam
