Creating an Illuminated Manuscript
Follow these steps to create an illuminated manuscript about the origins of Islam:
1. Create a cover with a title and with designs that incorporate colorful
geometric shapes.
2. Create four pages about the life of Muhammad that include:
• information from your Reading Notes for Sections 3 through 6
• all the words from Step 1 in the Reading Notes for Sections 3 through 6
• colorful and appropriate artwork (no human or animal figures)
3. Write the story of the origins of Islam. Use a book format to prepare your
manuscript. Add creative touches to make your manuscript look authentic.
