Requirements & Point Value (100 points):

Name of Theatre Theorist
List of Primary Research Sources (the theorist’s own published or recorded words)
List of Secondary Research Sources
o Reminder: Sources should be a combination of books, websites, videos, DVDs, articles,
personal workshop experiences, or lectures you’ve attended, etc.
Draft of Sections 1 & 2 of Report
o Section 1 = Your research findings on your chosen theorist, theory, and contexts
o Section 2 = Your research findings on your practical explorations and development of the solo
theatre piece
 Reminder: Your report should be annotated and should include a list of sources sited
on a separate page.
Deadline #2: (TBD by student and Mrs. Mock prior to Summer Break 2017)
Requirements & Point Value (100 points):

Brief explanation and some kind of storyboard of your choice for your solo theatre piece, including
your stated intentions for the piece (Basically, I need to know your performance concept.)

Include notes regarding technical elements needed: stage space/performance space, lighting, sound,
projections, props, set pieces, costuming, etc.
o
Reminder: This information can be arranged in a variety of ways—collage, storyboard,
sketches, graphic organizers, etc. (Any way that will help communicate your director/designer’s
vision for your piece)
NOTE: You should plan and practice (rehearse) your solo piece over the summer prior to your draft performance
on August 16. Remember that you can employ others to help run your lighting and sound and/or work as
“crew,” etc. If you would like to use the AHS stage, classroom, or technical equipment for practice, you will
need to coordinate that schedule with me. (We’ll be in a new space with new equipment, which will make
things interesting, but possible.)
Deadline #3: Wednesday, August 16
Requirement & Point Value (50 points)

A draft performance of your solo theatre piece (Must include all technical elements needed—sound,
lighting, costuming, props, set pieces, etc.)
o Reminder: You will perform for the IB/Theatre 2/ Theatre 3 class and teacher, and you will
receive constructive feedback from the audience. You should be prepared to conduct
something similar to a “Talk Back” with the audience where you discuss and ask questions of
them related to your intention for the performance.
Deadline #4: Wednesday, August 30

Video-Recorded Solo Performance during class

Requirement & Point Value (50 points)

Final draft of 3,000 word report, including Section 3 (Evaluation of the Solo Theatre Piece and your
personal reflections) and a Works Cited page.
