BUCKLES AND BLING Interest club dedicated to empowering young girls through etiquette instruction, academic excellence and leadership training. Qualifications: Girls in grades 9-12 are invited to join. Sponsors: Mrs. Rivers, Miss Savino, Mrs. Hill, Mrs. Peace, Auditorium, Period 3 CHARGERTHON Represents the Children’s Miracle Network. The purpose is to raise money for the nearest Children’s Miracle Network in the area. All fundraisers and activities will lead up to the actual event-Dance Marathon. Dancers (participants) will stand on their feet for 4-6 hours and raise money because they “Dance for those who can’t!” Qualifications: Open to all SCHS students. FBLA – FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA Provides students with the opportunity to apply classroom instruction in business practices and procedures to leadership development activities and competitive event experiences. Open to all interested students particularly those taking any business course(s), Admin. Office Technology and students in the IB Program. Activities and exercises are included in the curriculum to help Chapter members think about human rights in creative and interactive ways. It studies the Bible and looks for relevant content to apply, as well as build relationships between students and teachers. Will also raise awareness on motorcycle safety and will raise money to pay for supercross and extra money will go to a local hospital. Qualifications: Must have dirt bike, quad, ATV or motorcycle. Qualifications: Overall GPA/3.5 up in math classes, no discipline issues in SAO, must attend 2 practices per month and two competitions. SPANISH NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY The purpose of National Spanish Honor Society club is to recognize high achievement in the study of Spanish language among high school students to promote continuity of the interest of Hispanic studies. Qualifications: Student must have a 3.4 or higher GPA, have a 3.5 in Spanish, be enrolled in Spanish III or upper level classes, no referrals, 2 faculty recommendations. TEENAGE REPUBLICANS The Young Republican club that teaches students about the political process and helps them get involved in community service. Students must be enrolled in a performance ensemble and pass an audition to be a part of Tri-M. Qualification: Audition based only.
