66th Annual Meeting
Insurance
Word
1 ,
Staff and members
gathered on March 14th
for KRD Federal Credit
Union’s 66th Annual
Meeting. Following a
delicious meal and a
brief meeting, the
American themed trivia
game began. Many
laughs were had and a
lot of cash was given
out! Correct answers
were awarded $5 to $20!
Where else can you go
for a meeting, get a good
meal and walk out with
extra cash? Just the
KRD meetings! If you
haven’t ever attended,
you are missing out!
Plans are already underway for next year’s
meeting.
Many thanks to all
that attended and we
thank you for taking time
out of your busy lives to
support OUR credit union. The Staff and Board
are very proud of all the
accomplishments that
KRD has made and we
couldn’t be the financial
institution that we are
with out great Members!
Grateful for the past,
preparing for the future!

Board Election Results
The Board and Staff
would like to thank Jerry
Calvin for his dedication
and commitment to KRD
and the Board of Directors. Jerry elected to not
run for another term due
to his increasingly busy
schedule. His wittiness
and great sense of humor
will sure be missed at the
meetings!
The staff and board
are excited to announce
the re-election of Marty
Conroy and welcome
Michael Jonasen to the
Board of Directors.
Marty brings many years
of knowledge and experience to the credit union board. Michael has
been a member for several years and he is ready
for the new challenge of
being apart of such a
dynamic board!
New officers were
elected at the April meeting and we would like to
congratulate Dari Olson,
President, LeaAnn Doak,
Vice-President, and
Cindy Dame, Secretary
for another year of
service.

Chip Cards
A chip card is a standard
-size plastic debit or credit
card that contains an embedded microchip as well
as a traditional magnetic
stripe. The chip encrypts
information to help increase data security when
making transactions at ter-
minals or ATMs that
are chip-enabled.
KRD’s card processing company is in the
finalizing stage of
switching over to the
chip cards. The new
cards will begin being
issued towards the
3
end of the year. They
will be issued as cards are
renewed.
Thank you for your patience in advance as the
switchover will be a long
and drawn out process!

over 80 member
groups and six area
churches. KRD is
always accepting
applications for new

pay, and loans to fit your
every need!
Superhero or
Cartoon Character
would you be and
why?”
In honor of National
Credit Union Youth
Month, KRD hosted
the 10th Annual Scholarship Essay Contest.
A $500 scholarship
was awarded to two
Youth Members during
Youth Month. Students were asked to
write a 500 word essay
on their favorite Superhero or Cartoon Character. The topic taught
us a lot about the applicant and was very interesting to read! The
scholarship committee
congratulates Caleb
Suda and Kaden Sitzman for their winning
essays. Both are 2016
graduates of McCook
High School and plan
on attending McCook
Community College in
the fall. Their essays
were very well-written
and stayed on topic.
Their superhero of
choice? Spiderman!
Congratulations to the
both of them!
We wish everyone that
applied the very best in
their futures and wherever their paths might
take them, may they it
be “super”!

KRD Superheroes
In celebration of National
Credit Union Youth Month,
the week of April 18th, the
KRD youth members were
recognized for their
“Savings Superpowers”.
The youth were encouraged to deposit to their
savings accounts this
week. For doing so they
received a ticket in the
drawing for a Kindle Fire.
Tickets sold for the Kindle
raffle were donated to
Children’s Miracle Network.
To get to know the KRD
team of Superheroes better,
they were asked “What Superhero or Cartoon Character
would you be and why?” After a lot of thought, this is
their responses.
Lynette Chmiel – Between
working everyday full time
and having a very active 2
year old and a husband that
works late every night, you
have to do everything like
Wonder Women. She is
strong mentally and physical.
She can do anything that she
puts her mind to.
Debbie Jenkins – I guess I
would like to be the invisible
woman! Why? Because
there are some days you
would just like to disappear,
and yet sometimes you could
even be in a room with others
and yet no one knows! Or
wait, must I confuse invisible
with invincible? Was the invisible woman also invincible? Being both would be
awesome! If I may list another, favorite cartoon hero is
MAXINE! Every one of her
sayings will guarantee to
bring a smile to your face.
Sarah Renner - Appearances
are deceptive. Fiona is extremely insightful and is an
independent women who is
very down-to-earth. Evan as
an ogre, Fiona can be refined
and lady-like. She is a loving
wife and mother, loyal friend,
and unlike princesses in fairy
tales, an expert in combat. Fiona can be driven
at times when needed.
She also has the skill of
rallying and leading
other people.
Melissa Sitzman – I
would be superman. I
would have superhuman
speed, which I don’t
have now so that would be
fun. I would also be able to
protect the ones I love! But
my cape would have to be
purple.
Lisa Beideck – I choose Superman for two reasons,
Flight and Superhuman
Speed. The possibilities are
endless with this combination
of superpowers. I could visit
so many places. If I was having a bad day, I could fly
somewhere tropical and relax
on the beach. Also, he doesn’t need to eat or sleep so
there is even more time for
travel. Plus his cape is cool!
