 Springboard 2015 – RPL Application for MA in Public Culture Studies
Dear Applicant,
Thank you for your interest in applying for the M.A. in Public Culture Studies. Please make
sure that you complete the appropriate application form and indicate that you are applying
under recognition of prior learning (RPL).
As part of the RPL application process, you are being asked to submit work that is used to
assess your knowledge, skills and competences with respect to Level 8 of the National
Framework of Qualifications.
There are three pieces of work that must be completed and submitted as part of the process.
These are:
(1) An essay on “Class, Inequality and Recession in Ireland” typed maximum 1200
words, excluding the bibliography.
(2) A completed Europass CV – please see attached url with template which must be
used. There are accompanying instructions on the site.
(3) A dossier which highlights how your previous studies and or work experiences
provide evidence of your knowledge, skills and competences with respect to
Level 8 of the National Framework of Qualifications. Your experiences in life,
roles in the voluntary sector as well as any work experiences can be referred to
demonstrate your case. These can be related to any skills learned, specialised
knowledge and interpersonal skills. Examples showing the ability to take
decisions and to self-motivate can also be used.
Please prepare the three pieces of work as one file with the file name

note early submission of the application is recommended. Your application will be processed
and you will be notified of the outcome. You may be called for interview.
