Vote NO Constitutional Amendment 6
We All Have the RIGHT to Vote!
Dear Missouri Friends,
We face a serious challenge to the right to vote with
Missouri Constitutional Amendment 6 on the statewide
ballot in November. It requires a government issued photo
ID in order to vote. That’s a $17 million unfunded
mandate.
This is a solution for a problem that does not exist.
Voter impersonation is very rare. However, the Missouri
Secretary of State estimates that 220,000 Missourians
who are already registered could lose their right to vote
because they lack a photo ID.
The 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote in
1920. The Voting Rights Act of 1965 prohibited racial
discrimination in voting. Voter ID laws tear down our
rights by being discriminatory against low-income,
disabled, minority, student, senior citizen, and women
voters.
