This new pendant luminaire from Luxo has an extremely slim and elegant profile, with all
aluminium body and attractive detailing. Available in black, white and silver grey it is not
only design conscious but remarkably efficient. Utilising a single T5 lamp, in combination
with MIRO Silver (TM) reflector and high quality optics, Reed is one of the most energy
efficient pendant luminaires on the market today.
Reed can be equipped with sensors, dimming and LED emergency options.

Easy installation and continuous
mounting!
By combining Reed with one of our low energy LED
task lights we are able to create solutions that are
perfect for each individual, while saving energy and
money. In a single desk office of 10 m² a 1 x 35 W
Reed plus a 6 W Ovelo task light will provide the
required light according to the standard EN 12464.
That is less than 5 W per m² !
An optional bracket is available allowing Reed to
be continuously mounted, either in a straight run
or at angles.
This luminaire is easy to install, and easy to keep
clean. A dust protection cover in clear acrylic is
standard.
Microprismatic optics
Reed’s high quality microprismatic optic is an important feature. It contributes to the luminaire’s high efficiency.
Thanks to the quality of the microprismatic material Reed provides excellent glare control.
The high quality transparent acrylic optic has a transmittance of 92%. It is made from a large number of prisms,
carefully calculated to direct the light at exactly the right angles, in accordance with the EN 12464 standard.
The unique glare reduction qualities of our microsprismatic optics offer maximum flexibility with regard to the
positioning of work stations. In an open plan office it is possible to move work stations around, without risking
disturbing reflections in computer screens.

Helsinki-based Vesa Honkonen is active in the fields of international architecture, lighting and interior design.
He is working as a professor at University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm.. Honkonen’s
