Steak Pie Surprise
If you didn’t already know by now, our steak pies are kind of a big
deal – in fact, they picked up the Diamond award at this year’s
Craft Butchers Awards. That’s because every one of our steak
pies are hand made by our legendary Head Baker, Del. He is kind
of a big deal as well.
Our steak pies are packed with our tender Auchtertool Angus
Beef which has been cooked for 14 hours so that it simply melts in
your mouth. Del’s delicious gravy is so good, legend has it that the recipe is kept in the same safe as
the one for Coca Cola.
As is now our tradition at the Buffalo Farm, we will be hiding a £50 note (well wrapped!) inside two of
our New Year steak pies. What a way to start 2016!!
What Makes Our Turkeys Great?
Every year we are asked the same question: “What’s the
difference between our Turkeys and Supermarket Turkeys?”
So here goes:
1. Supermarkets are focused on weight so the turkeys are taken
as soon as they reach the popular categories. Our turkeys are
reared until they are in their prime which is about 5-7 months
old, which gives a far better meat to weight ratio and a superior
fat coverage.
2. Our turkeys are dry plucked which means they don’t need to be basted, buttered or covered with
bacon to retain their succulence
3. The dry plucking also allows us to ensure all of our turkeys are hung for a full 2 weeks which
means they are extra tender and taste altogether better.
But the true difference is how they taste and once you try one of our turkeys, you will understand why
people travel far and wide, to get theirs from the Buffalo Farm.

Please note that we will err on the larger side with weight variances to
ensure enjoyable Boxing Day leftovers! All our produce is cut and packed
by hand and it is difficult to meet exact weights although we endeavour
to do so where possible.
Collections
You can collect your Christmas order from us on the 22nd, 23rd or
24th December at either of our Kennoway, Blacketyside or Craigies
butcheries or our production site at Boglily Farm Steading, just on the
edge of Kirkcaldy. New Year orders can be collected on the 30th or by
3pm on 31st December.
Local Deliveries
Our local delivery day will be 23rd December for Christmas and 30th December for New Year. We can’t
guarantee exact delivery times but we will always phone in advance to confirm approximate time on the
day of delivery or take special instruction e.g. a friendly neighbour who can take in your order, a fridge in
the garage etc. Check the Delivery and Returns section of our website from Monday 21st December for
details of where we will be and at what time for local deliveries.

Courier Deliveries
Last courier delivery will go out on Monday 21st for delivery Tuesday 22nd. There will be no courier

Festive Opening Times
This year Christmas falls on a Friday. We will be running our normal opening times apart from closing 3pm
on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and 2nd January.
