Masculino y Femenino
Spanish nouns ending in –o are usually masculine.
Spanish nouns ending in –a are usually feminine.
Plural
If the word ends in a vowel, add –s.
If the word ends in a consonant, add-es
If the word ends in a z, change the z to a c, and add –es.
The Definite Article “The”
In Spanish, there are four ways to say “the”. The definite
article agrees with the noun in gender (masculino o
femenino) and number (singular o plural).
el- masculino singular
la- femenino singular
los-masculino plural
las-femenino plural
Adjetivos
Adjectives must agree with the noun they modify (describe)
in gender (masculino o femenino) and number (singular o
plural).
If the noun is plural, the adjective must also be plural.
