Paris Academy of Computer Science-SUPINFO Paris is a French State-accredited computer

Accommodation and meals:
Economical hotel room for triple occupancy with buffet-breakfast,
shared bathroom on the same floor
Lunch and diner at the charges of student (budget: 4-10 Euros per meal)
Arrival & Departure schedule:
Students need to book flights tickets themselves and confirm SUPINFO
the flight details for airport pick up by 20th July 2004.
Arrival in Paris on 1st August 2004 (or 31st July 2004 as second choice)
Departure from Paris for return on 21st or 22nd August 2004
Cost:
The cost of the programme is 2000 Euros.
The fee covers:
• Tuition
• Accommodation and breakfast from 1 to 22 August(extra day at 38 Euros per night)
• All course materials
• All scheduled excursions and extracurricular activities
• Airport/Hotel/Airport transfer
• Paris local transport pass: Paris public transportation pass valid during three weeks
The fee does not cover:
• International transport
• Lunch and normal dinner
• Visits not scheduled in the programme
• Health insurance fee: student must be responsible for its health insurance fee

refundable deposit of 50% of the fees=1000 Euros must be received
(by telegraphic transfer) by 10th July 2004 in order to assure the
admitted student’s place in the programme. Payment in full is due by 1st
August 2004.

Monday, 2nd August
Reception dinner & party at Marriott Hotel**** in Champs-Elysées
Saturday, 7th August
The Arc de Triomphe
Monument built in honour of the French Revolutionary Army (the Grande
Armée of emperor Napoleon) and inaugurated in 1836. Panoramic
view, museum linked to the monument history. On the 11th of November
1920, the tomb of an unknown soldier killed in the Great War was
inaugurated here to remember the 1 500 000 dead soldiers of the
World War I. Since 1922 and even during the World War II, every day
at 6.30pm, the commemorative flame is revived. The Arc de Triomphe is
located at the centre of the Charles de Gaulle-Etoile square, facing the
Champs Elysées Avenue (wonderful view on the Champs Elysées Avenue
from the top of the Arc de Triomphe).
The Notre Dame de Paris cathedral
Masterpiece of gothic architecture, the cathedral Notre-Dame de Paris,
imaginated by Bishop Maurice de Sully was built between the 12th and
the 14th centuries (1163-1345). The French road distances are
established from the "0 km" point located on the square in front of the
cathedral entrance.
The Louvre museum
The Louvre Museum presents world biggest collections of western art
from the Middle Ages to 1850, and the antique civilisations that have
preceded and influenced this art. They are divided into 8 departments:
Oriental Antiquities, Islamic Art, Egyptian Antiquities, Greek, Etruscan and
Roman Antiquities and, for the modern period, Paintings, Sculptures, Art
items, Prints and Drawings until 1848. In addition to these departments,
the museum presents a section devoted to the history of the Louvre.
Don’t miss the Louvre pyramid, build by Leoh Ming Pei.
Sunday, 8th August:
Versailles Palace
Together with its gardens, the Château de Versailles is one of the most
famous monuments of world heritage. The buildings trace the
architectural style of the 17th and 18th centuries and comprise: the
Royal Apartments, the Hall of Mirrors, the Chapel, the Royal Opera
and the Museum of the History of France. The Park is decorated with
statues, flower beds and water and outstanding buildings.
Orsay Museum
The Orsay Railway Station, built by architect Victor Laloux, was
inaugurated on 14th July 1900 on the eve of the World Fair and was
only used as a station until 1939. The idea of a museum arose in 1973
and it was finally inaugurated on 1st December 1986 after the
redesigning of the station's interior by Gae Aulenti. The Musée
d'Orsay presents the arts and artistic creativity of the period from
1848 to 1914 through its collections of paintings, sculpture, the
decorative arts, sculpture and photography.

Saturday, 14th August:
Eiffel Tower
The most famous monument in the world (324 metres, 10,100 tonnes) the
Eiffel Tower was built by Gustave Eiffel for the International Exhibition of
Paris of 1889 commemorating the centenary of the French Revolution.,
where it was the star attraction. Information, historical and technical
explanations on all three levels, Gustave Eiffel's office on the third one.
There are three levels with elevators and steps (until the second level).
You will go until the second level to admire the city of Paris.
Don’t miss the Eiffel Tower illuminations, every night!
Sightseeing cruise on Seine river
Welcome on board for a one-hour cruise accompanied by a clear, lively
commentary together with passages of music evocative of the places and
periods on the route; discover Paris of yesterday and today.
The commentary is broadcast via individual handsets and is available in
12 languages (click to see the list) Each language version has specific
anecdotes and cultural references.
MontmartreHill - Sacré-Coeur basilica
Montmartre is the highest hill of Paris and is situated in the North upper
area of Paris.
Place du Tertre is famous for numbers of artists.
The beautiful white church: Sacré-Coeur is built by public subscription
after the 1870 defeat in the Franco-Prussian war.
The basilica was consecrated in 1919.
From Sacré-Coeur, people can admire the whole city of Paris.

Disneyland
At only 35 minutes from Paris, discover Disneyland Resort Paris, with
one of its two themes parks: Disneyland Park or Walt Disney Studios
Park. Disneyland Park is the kingdom of Disney's characters, and you
will be enchanted by the rides and shows of this wonderful enchanted
world. In the new Walt Disney Studios Park, you will be plunged into
the fascinating world of cinema, television and animation. And discover
Disney Village and its fantastic shows and bars.
