Additional Advantages - MSI-sx
Safety Interface
Subject to change without notice
The modular safety interfaces of the MSI family
serve as a link between one or more optoelectronic protective devices (AOPDs), Type 2,
Type 3 or Type 4, and the machine controls.
The individual versions offer various safetyrelated additional functions, such as start/restart interlock, relay monitoring, test monitoring
of Type 2 sensors, single break/double break
control, or muting. All components are
available with a choice of relay outputs or failsafe pnp semiconductor outputs. In addition,
the -x versions also allow the connection of
safety switches or Emergency Stop pushbuttons in accordance with Category 4.
" 2 AOPDs, Type 4, or up to 4 AOPDs, Type 2 or, for example, 1 AOPD, Type 4,
and 1 safety switch can be connected
" Counting of relay operations with pre-failure message for preventive maintenance
" Warning output "relay life expectancy reached; recommend relay replacement”
Areas of Application
" Interface component between optoelectronic protective devices, Type 4, Type 3
or Type 2, and machine controls with the functions start/restart interlock, relay
monitoring
" Light barrier interface, Type 4, and Emergency Stop disconnection,
Stop category 0 (IEC 60204-1)
