SOFT STAND ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS Thank-you for purchasing one of our instrument stands. We have done our best to build a sturdy, reliable, portable, and aesthetically pleasing accessory for your horn. The key to the design and construction is the fit between the aluminum tubing and the wood parts of the stand. If the fit is too tight, assembly and disassembly is very difficult. If too loose, the stand will be too “wobbly.” Please note that we adjust the fit to allow a slight amount of play. This allows easy leg insertion and for all four feet to make contact on any slightly uneven surface. Please be VERY CAREFUL that when you insert or remove the legs, ALWAYS PUSH and PULL STRAIGHT IN and OUT without binding. We suggest that the first few times you assemble your stand to do it on a sturdy, flat surface. After a few times, you should be able to assemble the stand without need for a flat surface. Insert all four legs into the top rails. (the ones that have the cloth attached) Make sure that the bungee cords are sticking as far out the bottom of the legs as possible, approximately 1 ½ inches. Slide one of the two wooden feet over the protruding bungee, then push STRAIGHT IN. The cord should pop through the bottom of the leg so you can grab it. Secure the cord in the slot provided. Repeat the two previous steps, securing the same wooden foot to the aluminum leg that is attached to the other rail. The second wooden foot is then placed over BOTH of the other legs simultaneously. CRITICAL!! Push the second foot straight onto BOTH of the legs at the same time. It must go evenly onto both legs, or damage will result. After the legs are in, secure the bungees. Turn the stand right-sideup, and press straight down firmly to assure all four legs are in all the way in. Adjust the top rails so they are parallel. Your stand is ready to use! To disassemble the stand, simply reverse the assembly procedure. To remove the first wooden foot, grasp two of the legs and push it straight up with your thumbs. DO NOT EVER PULL OUT THE FIRST LEG ALONE! The binding force will likely break out the wood on the top rail. • • Washing Instructions: The Velcro is there to keep the padded cloth tight against the rail. It is not the primary support of the cloth. To remove the cloth, CAREFULLY separate the Velcro. Grab one end of the pouch and pull gently out of the slot, which is at an angle. Hand wash in Woolite and let air dry. When re-inserting the pouch into the slot, work it from one end to another. Do not use tools to insert the pouch. If it is too hard, there may be a wrinkle in the cloth. There should be no need for maintenance other than cleaning of the pouch.
