Mitch:
Hello you’re listening to 93.3 Cartables FM. Welcome to ENGLISH ON THE SPOT.
This week we’re going to talk about Easter and the Easter bunny, read a story about
animals, and listen to a song. But first, let’s introduce ourselves, Hi, I’m Mitch
…..
Mitch: The word of the day is Easter. Jess how do you say that in French?
Jess: Easter in French is “Paques”
Mitch: Today, let’s ask Laura how she and her family celebrate Easter in the United
States.
Jess: What day is Easter?
Laura: Easter is Sunday April 8th.
Jess: What do you do on Easter?
Laura: I celebrate Easter with my family. In the morning, we all search for eggs that the
Easter Bunny hid. Afterwards, we have big family dinner, and we all eat ham and berry
pies. Jess, what do you eat for Easter dinner?
Jess: I eat Lamb with Mint Sauce and Simnel Cake, which is fruitcake with marzipan.
It’s delicious! Also the Easter bunny leaves me lots of candy!
Laura: Me too! The Easter Bunny leaves me Peanut M&Ms!
Jess: That sounds yummy! My favorite candy is Cadbury’s chocolate! Mary Katherine,
what is your favorite candy?
MK: I love Reese’s Peanut butter cups! Mitch, do you have a favorite candy?
Mitch: My favorite candy is gummy bears! Kids what are your favorite candies?
[PAUSE FOR RESPONSE]
MK: Well now it’s time to read a story about the Easter Bunny.
Here comes Peter Cottontail
Hoping down the bunny trail
Hippity hoppin’
Easter’s on its way!
Bringing every girl and boy
Baskets full of Easter joy
Things to make your Easter
Bright and gay
He’s got jelly beans for Tommy
Colored eggs for sister Sue
There’s an orchid for your mommy
And an Easter basket too. Oh!
Here comes Peter Cottontail
Hoppin’ down the bunny trail
Hippity hoppity
Easter’s on its way!
Laura: That was a great story, but now lets listen to the song.

I am a giraffe and I bend my neck. Can you do it?
I can do it!
I am a buffalo and I raise my shoulders. Can you do it?
I can do it!
I am a monkey and I wave my arms. Can you do it?
I can do it!
I am a seal and I clap my hands. Can you do it?
I can do it!
I am a Gorilla and I thumb my chest. Can you do it?
I can do it!
I am a cat and I arch my back. Can you do it?
I can do it!
I am a crocodile and I wriggle my hips. Can you do it?
I can do it!
I am a camel and I bend my knees. Can you do it?
I can do it!
I am a donkey and I kick my legs. Can you do it?
I can do it!
I am an elephant and I stomp my foot. Can you do it?
I can do it!
I am I and I wriggle my toe. Can you do it?
I can do it!
