The new law will become effective in October 2012. Lawmakers are bragging that it won’t be long before obtaining a DNA sample from everyone who is arrested will become as routine as fingerprinting. The Internationale (People) vs. (Things) The Star Spangled Banner “Sing a song of sixpence, a pocket full of WRY” –Mother Goose & Pogo By: Donald “Pogo” Meserlian, PE National Leader: Patriot’s Citizens Campaigns www.voicesofsafety.com/pcc/ [email protected] (973) 228-2258 In 1814 Francis Scott Key wrote the words to the “Star Spangled Banner” after he witnessed the bombardment of Fort McHenry by the British in the war of 1812. In 1861 Oliver Wendell Holmes wrote a fifth stanza to the “Star Spangled Banner” in indignation at the start of the American Civil War. In 1871 Eugene Pottier wrote the lyrics to “The Internationale”, the music was written by Pierre Degeyter. This song is sung worldwide on May 1, “Labor Day”, throughout the world in recognition of the need for workers to unite in solidarity against tyranny. On May 1st, 1886 30,000 workers struck in Chicago based on a pamphlet that stated: “One day of revolt – not rest! A day not ordained by the bragging spokesmen of institutions holding the world of labor in bondage. A day on which labor makes its own laws and has the power CONTINUED ON PAGE 3 In New Jersey, there’s pending legislation that will require even those convicted of shoplifting or disorderly conduct to submit a DNA sample. Lawmakers in Rhode Island are considering legislation to collect DNA from some arrestees before they’re convicted of any crime! While this is being done in the name of protecting the innocent from violent criminals, the potential for abuse is enormous. Other than the usual complaint that the procedure will be used for racial profiling, imagine what it will be like for the data to be fed into National Security Agency supercomputers along with your personal medical history as well as that of all of your Facebook “friends”. Is this the technological Mark of the Beast that so-called “religious nuts” have been warning us about for decades? Is the “Anti-Christ” actually a State Surveillance system? If so, it’s closer than you think. RIGHT NOW you have these alternatives: To remain forever part of a sleeping world / To gradually abandon the hopes and dreams of childhood / To be permanently addicted to the drug of the commonplace / Or, to fight alongside us!” —Genesis P-Orridge, English singer-songwriter, musician, writer and performance artist. Excerpted from collected writings; 2010. Fun Facts Legalese Turns 100—Have You Read the Fine Print? Everyone knows what the “fine print” in a legal document is. It’s that tiny writing in a language we cannot possibly understand. Shortly after the establishment of the Federal Reserve Banking system in 1913, it was decided to adopt something called the “British Aristocratic Registry” and use it at every level of government. Otherwise known as “Legalese”, it’s a juridical jargon designed to be difficult, if not impossible, for the average person to understand. It was part of a deliberate attempt to exclude the legally untrained and thus create a demand for lawyers and justify their exorbitantly high fees. In pursuit of these goals Legalese employs confusingly long sentences, complex vocabulary, high abstraction, and insensitivity to exploit the average person’s need to understand a document, agreement or contract. The use of Legalese is unlawful under the US Constitution, but that hasn’t stopped any judge from upholding its use in the nearly 100 years since it was established. The Internationale (People) vs CONTINUED FROM PAGE 1 to execute them.” On May 4th, 1886 the Haymarket Square riot resulted in the torture of thousands of participants (police brutality) and the leaders of the riot, George Engel, Albert Parsons, August Spie and Adolf Fisher were tried, and hung Nov. 11, 1886. Workers around the world mourned and commemorate May Day as a national holiday in many nations; but not in the USA. The lyrics of “The Internationale” and “The Star Spangled Banner” denote the values of nations. I have selected the Billy Bragg (British musician) version of the Internationale written in 2000 as the most meaningful of the three English versions. The Internationale Stand up, all victims of oppression For the tyrants fear your might! Don’t cling so hard to your possessions, For you have nothing if you have no rights! Let racist ignorance be ended, For respect makes the empires fall! Freedom is merely privilege extended, Unless enjoyed by one and all. So come brothers and sisters For the struggle carries on, The Internationale Unites the world in song. So comrades, come rally, For this is the time and place! The international ideal, Unites the human race. The 1861 fifth stanza to the Star Spangled banner stated: “When our land is illumined with liberty’s smile, If a foe from within strikes a blow to its glory, Down, down with the traitor that tries to defile The flag of the stars, and the page of June 2012 3 her story! By the millions unchained, Who their birthright have gained We will keep her bright blazon forever unstained; And the star spangled banner in triumph shall wave, While the land of the free is the home of the brave.” People vs. things; solidarity vs. militarism, these are the choices you must make when judging the values of nations and the need to triumph over tyrannical governments. Remember what Mark Twain wrote: “Loyalty to country always; loyalty to government only when it deserves.” Our military/corporate controlled government doesn’t deserve the loyalty of anyone. The words of Oliver Wendell Holmes are my personal preference over the “bombs bursting in air”! I celebrated May 1, 2012 by singing “The Internationale” with “The Solidarity Singers” (with raised clenched The Star Spangled Banner O! say can you see by the dawn’s early light, What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming. Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight. O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming? And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there; O! say does that star spangled banner yet wave, O’er the land of the free and the home of the Brave? fist!) at the Botto House, National Labor Museum, in Haledon, NJ. He has amassed his fortunes in the gambling industry by building an unprecedented casino empire. Adelson is very important to the hawkish “Israel lobby”, and the neo-conservative Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) awarded him the Theodor Herzl Gold Medallion in December 2009. The award is given to people who make a “unique, lasting, and historic contribution to the cause of Zionism and the Jewish people”. Adelson’s philanthropy is directed though the Adelson Family Foundation, which he created in January 2007. Among its grantees has been the Adelson Institute for Strategic Studies, a project of the Shalem Center, a Likud Party-aligned group based in Jerusalem that claims on its website to engage “in research, education, and publications in areas that include Jewish moral and political thought, Zionist history and ideas, Biblical archaeology, democratic theory and practice, strategic studies, and economic and social policy”. As a backer of the neo-conservative think-tank Freedom’s Watch, whose key leaders have included former Bush White House spokesman Ari Fleischer and strip-mall magnate Melvin Sembler, Adelson brought widespread media attention to his push for hawkish, Israel-centric US policies. Among Adelson’s recent notable beneficiaries has been Newt Gingrich, former candidate for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination. Police are Building CONTINUED FROM PAGE 1 the false flag event of Sept. 11, 2001, the monitoring and tracking of people has become commonplace, and huge databases are being compiled on every citizen. While UPC barcodes are now as old school as vinyl records, the new databases seem to integrate everything from RFID/Microchip implants, Iris Scans, Thermograms, and Smart Cards along with your genetic code. While the US House of Representatives Katie Sepich Enhanced DNA Collection Act of 2010 is not yet federal law, when it finally becomes one it will allow for compiling national DNA databases taken from people arrested for but not convicted of crimes. States will receive massive federal funding to pay for it. Already, newborn babies in the United States are routinely screened for a panel of genetic diseases by taking their blood samples without parental consent. States mandate that newborns’ DNA samples be stored in state labs for anywhere from three months to indefinitely, depending on the state. If you think this is entirely unconstitutional, you should be aware that court after court has upheld that mandated DNA collection does not violate anyone’s civil rights. There have been numerous rulings where the court has dismissed claims of violations of Fourth, Fifth and Eighth Amendment rights! S
