Let’s get the FUN started!
Start dusting off those clubs because our first play
date is next week…..no fooling we start April 1st!!
We had a great Spring Tee Off Banquet again this
year. THANK YOU Laurie and Carrie for taking
such good care of us again this year.
For those that missed the banquet, CK from
Silverhorn joined us and informed everyone that we
will again have FREE lessons to start off the
season. We have posted the schedule of what
each week will pertain to on our website,
www.bwgaokc.com so you can pick and choose
which lessons you want to participate in.
CK also shared that our Tuesday night league rate
is going up to $20 due to our shotgun start (he has
to block out tee times in order to provide that
service to us). All other rates will remain the same.
Please be sure to check out the Weekly 9 Hole Play
section below for more important details.
CK also asked that we comply with the “no outside
beer” rule that is a standard at all courses.
Silverhorn will get to step up the quality of the
service and the beer to accommodate in this
change. He assured us that he will have the staff
ready to quicken the service at the start of the
evening and he now has actual cooler bags to put
the drinks in instead of plastic sacks. They will
supply a beverage cart if the demand supports it,
and we are keeping our discounted price of $2 per
beer. Please remember that I am only the
messenger. :o)
The last announcement at the banquet was the
need to fill the position of Vice President for this
season. This position simply supports the
President and the rest of the board AND will step
up into the role of President next year. If anyone is
willing or interested, please let me know.
Now on to more fun news…..our Spring
Tournament is coming up soon on April 13 ! This is
a great way to start off our season with a lot of fun
and prizes and MONEY!!! Don’t worry if you are a
beginner or not the best golfer. Every team is
divided up FAIRLY with the same range of
golfers….so come on out and join the fun!

Hello Ladies. . . Another month has gone by and
we are closer to our Spring Tournament. We are
all looking forward to a fun year.
The Spring Tournament will be 1:00pm on Sunday,
April 13 . This is always a good time to meet and
greet all of our NEW and RETURNING friends.
Please mark this fun day on your calendars
because it is one of the SPECIAL events of the
year.

I am still looking for any donations for prizes, gift
bags and Hole Sponsorships. Since this will be a
networking time for us to promote our businesses
and services, please bring me business cards to
put in the gift bags (bring to 9 hole play on the
April 1 or April 8 ). This may be a good way to
promote our companies. We hope to see you at
this tournament which will “open our season” this
year. It will be a lot of fun mingling with the
various members.

Weekly 9-hole Play
Social Night
Ladies! 9-hole play begins on Tuesday, April
1st! No April Fools! We are happy to
announce that for the first 5 weeks you may
opt to take a group lesson instead of playing.
There will be no cost to take lessons. Please
indicate when you sign up that you would like
to take a lesson. Each week will have a
different focus area:
We have some exciting and fun socials
planned for our 2014 season. Social nights
will be the second Tuesday of each month
from May through August. So go ahead and
mark your calendars now. We will begin with
our “Sink It De Mayo” night on May 13th.
Wear your brightest colors and sharpen up
your putters!!

Tuesday, April 8th – Chipping
Tuesday, April 15th – Mid Irons
Tuesday, April 22nd – Hybrids
Tuesday, April 29th – Course Management

We will start lessons or tee off at 5:30pm. For
those golfing, just pull thru the circle drive and
tell the attendant your name; they'll kindly load
your clubs onto the cart you are assigned.
They do accept tips. Then you just need to
check-in inside the clubhouse. You may sign
up to play the next week at this time or you
may always just email me at
[email protected]!
You can now also signup thru BWGA to play
18 holes on Tuesday night! Be sure you
indicate that when you signup, and then be to
the course by 3:30pm to start your first 9
holes before joining the rest of the group at
5:30pm for the 2nd 9 holes. Remember, we
get a $20 18 hole rate on Tuesdays… what a
great opportunity to save some money and
get some extra golf in!

wonderful fun-filled season!

We had a really wonderful turnout at the Spring
Tee Off Party. Ten new members joined us for the
2014 season. We are pleased to welcome:

Ball.
Please remember to pay your $55 membership

Players should ensure that no one is standing close
by or in a position to be hit by the club, the ball or
any stones, pebbles, twigs or the like when they
make a stroke or practice swing. Players should not
play until the players in front are out of range.
Players should always alert greenstaff nearby or
ahead when they are about to make a stroke that
might endanger them. If a player plays a ball in a
direction where there is a danger of hitting
someone, he should immediately shout a warning.
The traditional word of warning in such a situation
is "fore."
CONSIDERATION FOR OTHER PLAYERS
No Disturbance or Distraction
Players should always show consideration for other
players on the course and should not disturb their
play by moving, talking or making any unnecessary
noise. Players should ensure that any electronic
device taken onto the course does not distract
other players. On the teeing ground, a player
should not tee his ball until it is his turn to play.
Players should not stand close to or directly behind
the ball, or directly behind the hole, when a player
is about to play.
On the Putting Green
On the putting green, players should not stand on
another player's line of putt or when he is making a
stroke, cast a shadow over his line of putt. Players
should remain on or close to the putting green until
all other players in the group have holed out.
Monthly Away Fun Play is a chance for you to play
other courses and have a great day out with other
like-minded golf lovers. You choose how
competitive or non-competitive you want to make
it amongst your friends and/or foursome… most
importantly, have fun and come out and play! You
can play with anyone you want to sign up with or I
can put you with other ladies who have not signed
up with a partner. I will make room for all of the
Ladies of the BWGA.
