The means of disconnecting the AC adaptor from the mains supply is the mains plug integrated into the unit. This must be unobstructed and freely operable at all times. To completely disconnect the apparatus from the main power supply, the AC adaptor should be disconnected from the AC power outlet completely. Caution: This appliance operates on a 9V DC supply. The unit is intended for use only with the AC power adaptor supplied with the appliance. IMPORTANT! FILES, FOLDERS AND FORMATS Only JPEG (. jpg) pictures will be recognised by the Frame. All other file formats will not be viewable. Memory cards may have several folders and each folder may contain several pictures. When a card is loaded into the frame, all folder structures are bypassed. The card displays all readable (.jpg) files whether they are contained in folders or not. If you are saving pictures to a memory card for use exclusively with this picture frame, we advise you to save them to the card as low resolution standard jpgs without using any folder structure on the card. Your pictures will then display much quicker. Playing high resolution pictures will slow loading times without improving viewability. Pictures with a size exceeding 2Mb may not display at all. Press and hold to change the display aspect ratio (Fit Screen) or return to normal. MENU Button Enter and exit the Setup Menu. ROTATE PRELIMINARIES UNPACKING WALL MOUNTING THE FRAME The carton contains: Wall mounting has the advantage that the frame is out of the way and secure. However, the frame cannot be altered to suit portrait or landscape mode and additionally, the ON/OFF switch at the rear of the frame is obscured. $ $ The Picture Frame and stand. 9VDC mains power adaptor WARNING: If you are not sure of your ability to carry out the following procedure, use the services of a qualified building contractor. Before proceeding, establish that the wall is sound and can stand the weight of the frame plus a certain amount of pulling force necessary in the mounting process. The frame is attached to the wall via two keyhole slots at the rear. The frame can be mounted horizontally (landscape mode) or vertically (portrait mode). Unpack and inspect all the components carefully. If any item is damaged or missing, contact the Tesco store from where you purchased this product, or if that is not possible, your nearest Tesco store. Please have your receipt ready when you call. Retain the packaging. If you dispose of it, do so in accordance with recycling regulations in your area. Retain the User Handbook. If you pass the unit on to a third party make sure you pass on the handbook. First, switch the ON/OFF switch into the ON position. Determine which way round the the frame is to be mounted Choose two screws and wall fixings to suit your wall. Mark off two fixing points at the distances given in the diagrams. Drill two holes and insert two suitable plugs. Screw a screw into each hole leaving 7mm of the screw protruding. Place the frame on the wall. Locate the keyhole slots over the screw heads and and gently pull the frame down. 64mm 116mm LANDSCAPE MODE LANDSCAPE MODE OF F PORTRAIT MODE ON ON You can attach the stand so that the unit is in portrait or landscape mode. The mode you use will depend on the type of pictures displayed Slide the stand into the slots on the back of the unit as illustrated. Place the unit on a firm stable surface where it is unlikely to get knocked over and then lean the frame back on the stand. PROCEDURE PORTRAIT MODE OFF ATTACHING THE STAND 4 OPERATION VIEWING PICTURES $ $ $ $ CONNECTING AND SWITCHING ON For easy removal, memory card will protrude slightly. Connect To AC outlet (100 - 240V) To DC IN 9V jack Slide the OFF/ON switch at the rear of the unit to ON $ $ $ $ $ Plug the DC jack of the power adaptor into the DC socket of the frame. Insert a memory card into the card slot (see below for more details) Connect the AC adaptor to the mains and switch the mains power on. Slide the ON/OFF switch to the ON position (stand operation). The frame is now operational. The unit accepts these cards: • • • • To pause the Slide Show: $ Press the key. The symbol will appear on screen To resume play: $ Press the key. To move on several pictures $ Press the key the required number of times To move to the previous picture $ Press the key. To move back several pictures $ Press the key the required number of times AC ADAPTOR Insert a memory card. Secure Digital Card (SD) Multi Media Card (MMC) Memory Stick Pro (MS Pro) Extreme Digital (xD) Insert a memory card with the connecting pins facing the front of the product. Do not force the card into the slot. NOTE: When you use the keys to move between pictures, the next picture will have to load. Large resolution pictures take longer to load. Turn off the unit before inserting or removing the memory card. NEVER remove the card when the unit is playing files. To rotate a picture: Press the $ $ $ $ SD / MMC MS Pro Ensure the Picture Frame is switched OFF Insert a supported memory card into the card slot Connect the DC power adaptor and switch the Frame ON. The frame will load the card and then display the pictures one by one in sequence. This is known as SLIDE SHOW mode. ROTATE key: Press ONCE to rotate 90º to the rightI Press TWICE to rotate the picture 180º Press THREE TIMES to rotate the picture 270º Press again to restore the picture to normal view ROTATE NOTE: xD Slide Show mode is the default mode of the picture frame. In other words this mode will display when you switch on the frame. It is possible to disable this mode in the setup menu (see Page 6).If Slide Show mode is disabled the player will automatically show the first picture on the card when it is switched on. You can browse the pictures on the card using the keys If you cannot easily insert the memory card, you may have inserted it incorrectly. Turn the card over and re-insert it. 5 THUMBNAIL MODE Press and hold the key. 1.Press the MENU key to enter the Setup Menu. ENTER Thumbnail mode 722x480 Page 1/6 2007/06/07 The pictures on the card will now display in pages of 15 thumbnails. After the page has loaded the current picture will be highlighted and basic information will be displayed in the lower widow. To move to the next picture: Press the key To select the previous picture: Press the key To move to the next row of thumbnails: ROTATE key Press the DOWN/R To select and play the current picture: Press the key. The frame will load the picture and then enter Slide show mode(if slide show mode is activated). The pictures on the disc will now display in sequence starting with the selected picture. CHANGING THE ASPECT RATIO (Fit to Screen)* Fit to Screen mode lets you to expand the image to full screen. You can set the time to 15/30/60/Off/5/10 sec. • Off: disables slide show play. Refer to Page 5. Fit to Screen mode lets you to expand the image to full screen. • Off: display photos in their original aspect ratio. • On: display photos in full screen *This mode may also be enabled using the ROTATE key - See Column 1 on this page. DOWN/RO Brightness, Contrast and Saturation These options allows you to set up the screen to suit your personal taste. The following settings are available: 0, +1, +2, +3, +4, -1, -2, -3, -4. Try to avoid extremely high (+) settings. If pictures with excessively high levels of brightness, contrast or saturation are left static on the screen for extended periods, the screen could display a permanent after image. See P 8. Language Setup No Power : Select ENTER : CONFIRM You can set the Frame to continuously display all the pictures on the memory card. To enable this feature Select All. To disable this feature Select Off. The pictures will now all display once only. The Frame Cannot Play Photos • Ensure there are photos stored in the memory card. • The size of the photo is too large. Photo file size should not exceed 2MB. • Ensure the photos are in JPG (.jpg) format. Setup Menu - Custom Setup Language Repeat Mode Default • Ensure that the AC adaptor is connected correctly. • Ensure the memory card is not damaged. All user settings will be deleted. 7 • Press and hold the ROTATE button to adjust the screen aspect ratio. Many digital cameras take photos in 4:3 aspect ratio but some in 16:9 aspect ratio. Select a proper screen aspect ratio to view your photo. * Some photos may appear cropped at the edges in Full Screen Mode. Screen Burn: Contrary to popular belief, a static picture left on the screen for a long time may leave a permanent ‘after image’. The Slide show mode stops this from occurring.
