Scoring Your FITA Target – Florida 4

Scoring Your FITA Target – Florida 4-H Archery 2012
The targets used for FITA Archery have ten concentric circles as illustrated below. The score of each arrow depends
upon where it lands on the target. The highest score is a ten, for the smallest circles*. The center or bullseye ring is
also scored as a ten and is typically used to break scoring ties*. Scores go down from nine for the next circle out to
one for the outermost circle. Missing the rings on the target results in a score of zero for that arrow. Any shot that
breaks or touches separator of the next highest ring scores the higher points**. Scores are tallied at the end of
each round or volley of arrows.
*Sighted Compound and Instinctive Compound, Recurve/Longbow divisions are scored differently.
For Sighted Compound shooters (Divisions 4, 8 & 12), only the inner 10x ring is scored 10 points. **An “x” is only
scored if the X is touched. The second ring is 9 points.
For all Recurve/Longbow shooters AND Instinctive Compound shooters, both innermost rings score 10 points. An
“x” is scored for any shot touching the 10x ring.
