RED RIBBON CLUB – 2016-17
For session 2016-17, membership of Red Ribbon Club Committee has
given to the newly admitted students by the Red Ribbon Club
Committee the college. This club is a part of NSS unit of the college.
The red ribbon club, as an awareness ribbon, is used as the symbol for
the prevention of illegal drugs, drunk driving, and to stop drugs, blood
disorders such as HELLP syndrome and for fighting against AIDS. Red
Ribbon Club is an international symbol of HIV/AIDS awareness. Since
1991 Red Ribbon Club is a movement started by the Government of
India in educational institutions through which students will be made
aware about AIDS. It is youth initiative on HIV/AIDS. December 1st is
observed as World AIDS Day to emphasis solidarity and support for
people living with HIV.
Red Ribbon Club International is an organization founded in 1993
whose main purpose is the education about prevention of the Human
Immunodeficiency Virus or HIV, Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome
Related Complex and AIDS.

OBJECTIVE/VISION OF RRC:

Empowerment of students by giving them information and life
skills to protect themselves from HIV/AIDS.
Organize HIV/AIDS awareness activities at regular intervals in the
universities and colleges.
Motivate youth by developing the skills of leadership,
negotiations and team building and inculcate in them the spirit
of helping and supporting people living with HIV/AIDS.

With the collaboration of NSS Units (boys & girls) red ribbon club of the
college celebrated International Youth Day on 12th august 2016.newly
admitted students enthustically participated in the programme. Red
ribbons are distributed to new members of RRC. Principal, Dr. Shobha
Joshi, college staff members were also participated in this programme.
On 1st October 2016 awareness lecture conducted by RRC committee
about importance of blood donation, how to maintain blood bank etc.
On 15th November 2016 blood test campaign done by NSS units and
RRC jointly. Programme Officer Dr. Sanjay Jain, Dr. Anjula poras and
Prof. Preeti Patidar actively participated in this event. Blood testing of
150 newly admitted students were done in this event. Role of students
in nation building was explained by Principal Dr. Shoba joshi on this
occasion.

On the occasion of World AIDS Day (1st December, 2016) a lecture is
organized by NSS units and Red Ribbon club jointly. Main speaker was
Dr. Ajay Dosi, who delivered lecture on subject - what is AIDS, HIV virus
and causes and method of prevention of this disease. Chairperson of
this event was Principal, Dr. Shobha Joshi. Dr. Sanjay Jain, Dr. Anjula
Poras, Prof. Kirti Tiwari and other staff members were present on this
occasion with the students.
By these activities RRC tried to spread awareness about blood
donation, AIDS/HIV disease among the students of college.

RED RIBBON CLUB ACTIVITIES – 2015-16
For session 2015-16, membership of Red Ribbon Club Committee has
given to the newly admitted students by the Red Ribbon Club
Committee the college. This club is a part of NSS unit of the college.
With the collaboration of NSS Units (boys & girls) red ribbon club of the
college celebrated International Youth Day on 12th august 2015. Dr.
MMP Shrivastava, exam controller of Govt. Holkar Science College was
key speaker of programme. He explained the students about blood
donation, AIDS and role of drug addiction to spread this disease. Red
ribbons are distributed to new members of RRC. Principal, Dr. Shobha
Joshi, college staff members were also participated in this programme.
On 1st October 2015 awareness lecture conducted by RRC committee
about importance of blood donation, how to maintain blood bank etc.
Poster competition was also held on the occasion of Volunteer Blood
Donation Day.
On 18th Nov. 2015 blood donation campaign done by NSS units and
RRC jointly. Programme Officer Dr. Sanjay Jain, Dr. Anjula poras, Dr.
D.D. Mahajan, Prof. Kirti Tiwari and other staff members were actively
participated in this event. 23 units of blood were donated by students
in this event. Blood Bank team of MY hospital given their support to
this event. Role of students in nation building was explained by
Principal Dr. Shobha joshi on this occasion. Dr. Yogendra nath Shukla
and other staff members were also present there.

RED RIBBON CLUB ACTIVITIES – 2013-14
With the collaboration of NSS Units (boys & girls) red ribbon club of the
college health check up campaign was held on date 16th January 2013.
Dr. Arvind Yadav and Dr. Smrati Upadhaya was main speaker of the
event. In this event examination of blood group test, blood pressure,
and pulse rate and weight were done. By these activities RRC tried to
spread awareness about blood donation, AIDS/HIV disease among the
students of college.
