Kojak’sSM House of Ribs has been family-owned and operated
SIDE ORDERS
by the Forney family since 1978. The restaurant features a charming
atmosphere in a converted southern bungalow-style home, that
sits beneath the shade of several great live oak trees. “Kojak’s”,
a South Tampa Institution, is well-known around town and offers
indoor seating as well as outdoor seating, on the relaxing, fan-cooled
verandah. It has a basic BBQ menu that boasts the best Ribs from
here to West Texas.

The name “Kojak’sSM” comes from Bill (JW) Forney, who was Chief of
Detectives in Midwest City, Oklahoma. A Super Sleuth! When he left
the police force in the early 70’s, he went into the BBQ business,
“House of Ribs” opened across from Tinker A.F.B. The nickname stuck!
Bill’s brother, Bud Forney, opened “Kojak’s House of Ribs” in 1978 and
used Bill’s special recipe for the spare ribs.

Everything is HOMEMADE – from the tangy Cole Slaw to Mama’s
World Famous Chocolate and Fresh Apple Cake. The BBQ Beef and
Pork are very lean, tender and juicy, BBQ’d in Kojak’s zesty BBQ sauce.
While both BBQ Beef and Pork are very popular and delicious, the new
Pulled Pork (slow-smoked for 8-10 hours in our custom-built smoker and
served with our sweet BBQ sauce), is sure to be legendary in its own
right. Pair with a pitcher or glass of the infamous Homemade Sangria,
you’ll be sure to be asking for the recipe.
Also, great choices are the hot Smoked Sausage straight from South
Georgia. It’s really special and can’t be beat! A variety of Side Orders
include, Killer Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad,
Green Beans and the ever popular Parsley Potatoes. The BBQ smoked
Chicken, that comes in 1/4 and 1/2 dinners, is very juicy and is one
of the favorites among a following of more than three generations
of Kojak’sSM followers and children. That’s right, Third Generation
