Martin papers have been assigned the date range of circa 1920-1970. William C. Martin created this filing system at the beginning of his episcopal ministry as a resource for studying the lives of Methodist bishops and the roles that they played in leading the church. To this historical data, Bishop Martin added personal correspondence with, small publications by, photographs of, news clippings about other bishops, and five folders of information about himself. In the list that follows, the parenthetical notes (e.g.- “E 1918”) were copied from the original file folders and indicate the year in which each man was elected to the office of bishop. 195B 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 13 14 15 16 17 18 Notebook – “Bishops I have known,” circa 1970 Ainsworth, William Newman (E 1918), 1921-1942 Alejandro, Dionisio Deista (E 1944), 1949 Allen, L.
