Fozzy’s Dunk Island Day Use Area Update
~ The Real Version ~
This week has been busy taking Civil Plus from Townsville to Dunk
Island, they have completed their first weeks work on the jetty
repairs. Although you can’t see the changes yet - a lot of prep and behind the scenes work has been done.
The jetty will be repaired from the ocean right up to where the new addition was built quite some time ago.
From there the jetty will take on an angle back to the day use area. It really is going to be a sight to behold
once done.
GForce Landscaping have had three days on the island this week so not moving ahead as quickly as expected.
There is plastic pathway edging ‘somewhere between here and Melbourne’ that we are waiting on and once
that arrives we have been advised there is approximately one week to ten days of path laying and they are
done!
Magical Mount Kootaloo
We had a chance to head to the top off Mt Kootaloo
this week and take a couple of shots FROM THE TOP.
At the end of the 1.1 km walk you are rewarded with
beautiful panoramic views right over the rest of the
family group and across the resort and spit to the
mainland. The Mt Kootaloo return track only takes 2
hours, in fact one mad gentleman from Tahiti did it
today in 1 hour 20 minutes so he didn’t miss the boat.
These walking tracks are the beginning of a great day
out. Pack you esky and shoes, a walk to the top, swim
and lunch when you get back down – perhaps at Muggy
Muggy Beach? With all walking tracks on the island
open you can choose from the Kootaloo or Circuit Track
– one for every level of fitness and being on an island
for the day, slow down and take it easy! We are hoping
to get around the circuit track this week and will send
through photos soon.
Christmas is Coming!
We would also like to remind everyone how easy and
inexpensive your Christmas parties can be on an island
for the day. We can bring all of your eskies/food down
to the boat in the trailer and load for you. Enquire
