If you love digging into your ancestral past, this is the study
hall for you! Use the library’s resources to help you in your
quest. This class won’t teach you what to do, but volunteers
from the Buffalo County Historical Society and library staff
will be there to give assistance when it’s needed. So, if you
enjoy delving into your ancestry, but haven’t been finding
time to work on it – come search with us!
Meet in the basement of the Chicken Coop and play our
trivia game! 30 trivia questions in 1 hour. Form teams of up
to five people or play alone if you like! Winners will receive
a $50 gift certificate to the Chicken Coop and bragging

BookFace Contest
Cranes for Cancer

A photo contest with a twist! Just replace your face (or other body part) with a
book’s cover and snap a photo.
Email photos to [email protected] with the subject line “BookFace” between
June 1 and June 30. Include your name, age category, and contact information in
the email. The age categories are: Ages 0-12 yrs, Ages 13-18 yrs, Ages 19+ yrs. One
entry per person per age group. We’ll print your photo and display it.
Vote for People’s Choice between July 1 and July 10 at the displays in the library.
On July 10 our own judges will determine 1 winner in each of the 3 age categories.
The winners receive $30 Buffalo Bucks! Pick up our illustrated handout and check
out our Pinterest BookFace board for ideas!
This program is based on the
nonfiction book, Sadako and the
Thousand Paper Cranes. Adults meet
to fold origami cranes. At summer’s
end, all origami cranes will be sent to
cancer patients to give them hope.

Help “Build a Better World” by giving blood! By lying down,
closing your eyes, and relaxing you really can save the lives of
up to 3 people. There are other ways to save lives, like rushing
into burning buildings or giving CPR, but giving blood is one of
the easiest ways to make a life-saving difference. Call or email

your appointment. For ages 17+ years or 16 yrs with signed
Red Cross parental/guardian consent form.
CONFLICT… Do you get anxious at the thought of it? Do you
want to turn and run in the opposite direction? Most people
do their best to avoid conflict, but with a few tools of your
own you can find better ways to have those difficult
conversations. Join us to learn a few strategies and skills to
navigate your way through everyday conflicts and difficult
conversations in this interactive workshop led by Farah
Greenwald, a trained mediator with Central Mediation Center.

We have just the tool to help make the best Medigap insurance decision for
each individual. Whether you’re approaching age 65 and anticipating
purchasing Medigap insurance or whether you’d like to evaluate and possibly
change your current plan, the online Medigap Buyer’s Guide is about as simple
as it gets. You do not need to be tech-savvy at all to use this tool. Registration
