Monette is Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, and also Assistant Professor of Literature and Religion at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane. He holds his BA in Classical Studies from University of Ottawa, and his MA and PhD in Medieval Studies from University of Toronto. His research is in Literature and Religion, with a focus on medieval texts. He is the author of 'The Medieval Hero' (2008 & 2011), and a contributor to 'Islamic Horizons', 'Comparative Islamic Studies', 'The International Journal of Euro-Mediterranean Studies', and the 'Journal of Indo-European Studies'. He taught part-time at University of Toronto from 2001 to 2006 and full-time at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco since 2007.
